There is lots of things about this post that is bad. Saying certain people are scum and town with no reason is bad. Also not explaining what is different about this game to other games where chess is obvtown is bad. There is also a strong difference between someone being not obvtown and scum.

I don't see why you need reasoning why I suspect a player who I'm not yet voting. And explaining town reads isn't really necessary unless it's a widely suspected player. I elaborated on Chess later in the post. It was a gut feel. It's all about reading motivation in his posts. Usually, he seems to have town's best interest in mind, though he's always viewed as scummy. In this game, I just didn't see that.

When did replacing out become a town tell?

I'm a little worried to write gandalf/shotty off as scum, because even though it was a very scummy hammer, it seems almost too scummy. SA is definitely my top pick, having one post aside from his original right now, and it isn't bursting with towniness. Not voting though, in light of how quick the voting went yesterday. Looking forward to what shotty has to say about gandalf's play.

I know you cannot answer for gandalf, but no one can deny what he did yesterday was scummy. He hammered yesterday without and a claim and with questions still left unanswered, and then replaced out yet still posted in the thread after being replaced.

I don't think gandalf is crummy enough to leave someone else in his own pile of shit if he felt he was going to get busted as scum. If he is I will be disappointed.

Pretty sure Gandalf replaced out of all of his games.

If drmy is scum, so is one of thad/smashbro.
If drmy is town, Chevre is scum.

Chkflip is being entirely too defensive of Andrew.

chesskid is being entirely too aggressive on Andrew.

The Bus Driver Organization looks the scummiest thus far.

'Chevre' looks entirely too much like 'chévere' which means 'great' or 'fantastic' in Spanish.

Anyway, which is more scummy, chkflip's defensiveness or chesskid's aggressiveness?

chesskid's aggressiveness, but the scumminess of it is negligible.

This, along with the fact that he ended up voting Chess, could say a few things about chk.
1) Chaotic was setting himself up to vote either player if a wagon ever picked up, which the Chess one did.
2) Chaotic named a townie and a scumbuddy, eventually lazily going after the townie.

Number two seems more likely because chk wasn't really someone who was likely to be wagoned.

Also, the Chevre thing is either buddying to town, or being really ballsy buddying to a scumbuddy. Chevre is probably town. Based on my drmy connections posted earlier, and these reads based on Chaotic, the scum team should be drmy/smashbro/chk. I'm most confident on chk because it comes directly from looking back at flipped scum.

Andrew is easy enough to read that I'd keep him beyond D1 just so I have a semi-confirmed alignment (unless he does something scummy, of course).

Andrew gets town points. I doubt Chaotic would try this on a scumbuddy.

Also worth noting:
Chaotic never mentioned or interacted with Akira or implosion, but did so with everyone else. May need to rethink those town reads.

Implosion calls Chaotic town once and Akira never even mentions Chaotic. Looks real bad for Akira.

Akira, it's a connection between you and Chaotic because it goes both ways. I believe that scum tend to interact with their buddies less than anybody else. Not only didn't you mention Chaotic, but he never once brought up your name. Now, don't get me wrong, Implosion isn't clear by any means for calling Chaotic town. I just think less interaction is more likely scum.

Smashbro, Cautiousness is a playstyle tell, not an alignment tell. Maybe Gandalf is a ballsy player. Maybe he isn't. Either way, it doesn't tell us anything about his alignment. The thing we need to look at is the motivation behind his actions. Every time I see "scum don't want to draw attention to themselves", I want to choke a kitten. About my reads, I think I explained them just fine in my last post.

After Akira's Post 172, I'm much more sold on chkflipscum than akirascum. I was already leaning that way, but not nearly as much as now.

Implosion, Chaotic said Thad's avatar was intimidating. That's not really something I'd expect him to have noticed from somebody who he immediately knows is on his team. And my bad on the miscount. Still, there's a good chance we find the scum in that group.

chkflip, how does Akira look worse from the Shotty exchange?

Chevre, what is your opinion of chkflip? I get that you suspect Andrew and Akira more than him, but why? Not so much why suspect them, but more why not chkflip?

If Akira needs a willing hammer to claim, consider me it. Yeah, I'd prefer chkflip, but meh. My gut says town on Akira, but I trust the Chaotic connection more than my gut read.

It appears I was misguided before. Chaotic obviously decided he was going to joke vote his scumbuddy and looked for a reason in the avatar.

ThAd spent Day 1 avoiding the Chesskid lynch like the plague, but never really going out of his way to redirect the lynch.

Day 2, he comes right out and attacks the Chesskid voters. It's like he wanted Chess lynched, but kept his hands clean. Then Day 2, he wants to test the waters to see whose hands have the most rope burn. He lands on me, but I come back with a case on Akira and chkflip. ThAd chooses Akira (chkflip is ThAd's scumbuddy) and runs with that. So he piggybacks off of somebody who he thought was scum. I don't buy that.

Also, looking at our flipped scum, ThAd only mentions Chaotic in jokes (twice) and only mentions Chevre after the scum flip.

The guy's scum. Let's do this.

Thad, it was clear that the wagon had steam and momentum behind it. You can't blame an early hammer for the fact that you weren't saying much about the other votes piling on.

I didn't mention the piggybacking yesterday because I was dead set convinced that you were town. And I was in the mindset that the Chaotic-Akira connection was pretty strong, so saying something that might derail that lynch wouldn't have been good.

Thad, any gamebreakers basically rely on chance and assumptions.

For example, if our inspecter has two innocents still living, and our protecter is town, the vig, inspecter, and protecter could claim. Then if the innocents are unclaimed, we lynch the remaining player. If they are claimed, we choose between the unclaimed players. The vig shoots the claimed inspecter, thus confirming two players who hopefully don't include him. The protecter protects the vig. We end up with probably a confirmed vig and hopefully another confirmed player so we can lynch scum for the win. However this assumes our inspecter has living innocent results and we have a town protecter.

I think the setup is well designed to avoid breakage before a massclaim. The only way to actually break it seems to be to massclaim and hope everything works in our favor, which I'd rather not do. Let's at least make sure no one is holding on to a guilty before we decide our next move.

Gandalf's hammer has been brought up a few times. However, Chaotic and Chevre were both on the Chess wagon and although scum are often on Day 1 mislynches, it's rare to see all of them on there.

This is only the third vote and comes with a quote where Chess had just called Gandalf town. Seems like scum would be less likely to vote someone right after they call a scumbuddy town. Especially without even acknowledging that part of the quote.

I wanted to see Chk's stance on the chess lynch, but he seems to avoid being around it.

Next, the Akira lynch. Chk and Shotty both ended up on that wagon. Chk danced around it a little while, but eventually voted with a promise to explain later on. However, we never got that due to his emergency VLA. He seemed fine putting Akira at L-1 though and did so with confidence. I read that as pretty townie... Except one thing. The L-1 vote comes after he was called on misreading 4 days as 4 votes. That in mind, it looks like a people pleaser vote. Shotty put a lot of effort into making sure his vote was explained. I see town intent there.

If Mothrax is scum, he has the RB/Rolecop abilities. Claiming Cop/RB is pretty much standard procedure. The claim does nothing for me.
