Standard Rules


1.) This game is a day start. Day 1 will start when everyone has confirmed to me by PM.
2.) During the day you can vote for a player that you think should be lynched. Votes should be in the form
Vote: Player
, but I'll count votes if the intention is clear and there's bolding/some attempt at bolding. Unvotes before registering a new vote are helpful but not required. Note that any attempts at fake votes will be frowned on, and most likely counted anyway. Don't try it.
3.) When a player reaches a majority of votes, they are lynched. I will reveal their role, and the game will move into night. Players can still talk during twilight.
4.) Every day will be deadlined at 96 hours, with no majority meaning no-lynch. If the town has time to spare at the end of a day, that time gets added onto the next day, rounded to the nearest hour.
5.) No talking to other players, dead or alive, outside of the thread, unless your role permits it.
6.) Once dead, you stop posting. A bah post is fine though.
7.) If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
8.) This being a speed game, anyone not posting in 24 hours will be prodded, with possibly leniency shown for weekends. If you get prodded you must respond in thread in a timely fashion, failure to do so will get you replaced. Being prodded 3 times over the course of the game may also result in replacement, depending on how hard it is to get someone. If you anticipate being away, send me a PM.
9.) I'll try to post votecounts as often as possible. Feel free to ask for a votecount at any time. Disappointingly, I may make mistakes. Point them out very gently. Since the game might move fast while I'm sleeping or at work, feel free to do your own votecounts if it helps.
10.) Avoid excessive profanity, flaming etc.
11.) Don't quote or fakequote your role PM. Don't quote any PMs from the mod. Don't reference ongoing games. Any of these are potentially modkillable offences.

The setup of this game is semi-open, a game with 4 mafia members playing against 14 protown players. Here is a list of all the possible roles:

Your connections in high places mean that any investigations into your affairs will come up blank; to any rolecop you'll show up as a vanilla townie. Each night you may choose if you wish to be "immune" to either or both of weak doctor or hider, this means if any such role targets you they will survive. Daytalk is relevant. The fact that your team made poor use of it doesn't turn an encryptor into a goon. I've modded a decent number of games where scum could daytalk, sometimes it's a great asset and sometimes scum act as though they don't have it.

Town had 3 investigative roles, which isn't exactly unheard of in a game this size. None of them are very good at catching scum directly, the rolecop can only bust one of the scum and trackers are more about verifying claims. Yes you were unlucky to have Ludi and C-Worl caught by trackers, but it's very rare that it happens. Tracker isn't an especially strong role.

#4) If the scum made a single bad play, it was the Katsuki hard bus on D1. That, however, should not have lost us the game.

I don't see how this matches up with your (5). Katsuki and C-Worl both looked scummy throughout the whole game, only the Magister Ludi lynch was really out of the blue. And really, complaining about being lynched in the endgame? Juls hammered you over one thing that made Amrun obviously town compared to you, that's pretty fucking common in mafia, doubly so in speed games where people play by gut. Get a grip on yourself. How many scum do I have to read whining that they were lynched for reasons they don't think are good enough?

Anyway, sorry to anyone else who feels cheated by the setup, I had a few doubts when reviewing the setup with Hoopla but I don't think it's especially town sided. I'd lean towards town if I had to though. I don't know whether the fast play is much of a disadvantage at all.

I would like to see exactly how daytalk can be used to coordinate so well that it counters the idea of town having that many power roles. We had one of our kill stopped by a jailkeeper, two people taken down by trackers, and one of our scum caught by the rolecop. We don't even have any visiting roles to counter the trackers. And tracker is strong enough to confirm someone as visiting or not visiting, which confirms they have an ability -- just think, if SpyreX had tracked C-Worl and he was just a roleblocker or something, C-Worl wouldn't have been lynched so easily.

Your team had a ton of trouble with the town power in this game, and you're taking that to mean the town is overpowered which doesn't necessarily follow. Again, the rolecop is a weak role, it can only catch one of the scum directly, and saying that you had Katsuki caught by the rolecop makes it sounds like it came out of nowhere. Katsuki looked scummy and had to claim very early on, which led to being caught. That's play, not overpowered town. Trackers are ok, but they're being made to look stronger because in this game two scum were caught in the act of killing by trackers. That isn't the norm.

And what I said is exactly what I thought when I read your comment about an encryptor being a goon. If you're carrying on some kind of reasonable debate about a setup then it's pretty pointless to make sweeping comments like that. Daytalking is pretty erratic in terms of how strong it is, the fact your team used it poorly doesn't make it a tiny bonus.

How many mods do I have to play under who get defensive when someone points out the obvious flaws in their setup?

When you post after the game that someone's setup completely sucks, they are going to respond to it defensively, no surprises there. What you said about Juls and Amrun was in pretty terrible taste too.

Fucking shit, Patrick, if this had been an all-vanilla game, there's no way scum would've lost.
