How would you say that the "lynch wasn't going his way"?

The only way I could see that make sense would be if Hero was buddies with the person who probably would have otherwise been lynched today (Cobbler, IMHO) and wanted to derail that wagon. Even in that case, though, it dosn't seem like a bright move, considering how Cobbler will still be under a ton of suspicion in the future, and Hero was under basically no suspicion today.

Sure. If a cop has a guilty, and intends to claim it today, he's likely to try to see who defends that person when attacked without the claim first, to get more information.

Seems clear to me he dug himself a hole and is desperately trying to dig himself out with whatever shit gets thrown at him. Why take the actions he did? This is yet another clear fakeclaim/recruited scum claim and Im suprised that even the better players are going for it when even without the initial list and questioning which detracts from his claim, its iffy. He was cop which got recruited by BBM early on and then managed to influence the town massively whilst doing BBM's bidding. You ask me not to mention Suc. 1. but its the exact same situation here.

I think this Porch lynch is happening a little too fast, especially without clarification from the starter of the wagon (claim guilty?).
I believe he said 1 out of 5 people he had as suspect could in fact be guilty (I thinking sensor). So at the moment he could just be going with his gut reaction.
