The following posts, pretty much in succession, lead me to believe that claiming Cop even with the remaining uses was important and in the best interest of Town: Ethos 195, Mal 198, Ethos 203. There was not any disagreement of these posts from anyone in town on my first initial reread. Since Ethos is one of my town reads, I didn't doubt his suggestion.

Scum reads right now: HelloNewman (the accounting seems slightly weird and the fact we had to go over the same calucations 3x to find a descripancy seems off a little, plus I don't like how he tried to outbid hiphop when the first one claimed it in thread still), IceyGuy (really lame reasoning for voting for HN during the bid debacle, there are justifiable reasons to vote for him as it is), bobsnox (where is Bob? we don't know), mal (his inital vote for Seacore D1 seemed to try to hang an innocent townie, and while his play has improved, he's not made with much scumhunting.)

I'm still happy with lynching Newman. I'm a bit confused about this Ghost v Midnight Cop auction debate. Can both of them please make claims in bold about how much they bid and when? I'd recommend checking PMs and/or with the mod because you will be held to your bolded comments.

And as for the ghost, ms thing. Ghost won the auction not ms. Ghost had bid $99 on the cop. Ghost won it for $95. Therefore the second highest bidder had to bid $95 after ghost had bid on it, or $94 before. If anything the fault lies with MS, for any confusion at all. For it is obvious that he never sent his pm for $97. And I already asked Ms when he had bid on it. He said June 30th.

Yeah, I get that, I'm still not comfortable with his holding back of information. Which is why I'd like him lynched. Someone who has provided so much misinformation must be removed. First the 189 v 190 bid and now saying he had deleted things so he didn't have to provide info. It's not good, he should die. If we don't lynch him, I'd like you to kill him should you win the NK. Or to at least consider it anyway.

On the other front, it looks like MS is lying and should also be killed. I'd vote for either one at this point and hope you kill the other.

I understand the 189 v. 190 thing. Being that it was first brought here, by malpascp, asking HN if he had bid 189. Hn immediately responds, with the 189 stuck in his head. Later on, he realized he bid $190. As for the lie, I find that more of a null tell, then a scum tell, but that is only because I believe he was really frustrated. So right now, I only find him null.

And I really do not know what to think of the Ms thing. If it wasn't true, why would he say he had bid that much?

There's two things I look for when hunting scum

1. scum motivation vs town motivation, and I agree, there's not that much scum motivation for lying here.

but then there's

2. inconsistencies. Scum have to fabricate everything they say, even if they'd say it anyway, even if it's the truth, they have to run it past part of their brain to say "will this out me" and it's that process that reveals inconsistencies. Town have nothing to lose by openly putting down everything they do, so they'll tend to do it truthfully. Scum don't.

That's why I'm finding MS dodgy right now, and why I'm still finding HN dodgy.

I may be one of the most guilable people in the world but I believe Newmans explanation over the mix up and still consider him to be town but let this be a warning anyone that lies about their auctioning and bidding actions later in the game will be hung. Chaos interrogation of Newman bringing up the fact that it was impossible to have the funds he was claiming to have reads as a solid town-tell.

I'm not entirely sure what to make of MS vs Ghostlin because the way I see it there are only two possible scenario, the first being that MS is lying scum but I see no reason for scum to lie about that and the second being that or mafia have some sort of auction bidding altering power.

I think our best bet is to put the bidding issues aside for now and just lynch the player we all suspect the most because the longer we wait and stagnate the thread the less efficiency bonus we receive. I still believe we should lynch Icey however an updated list our my reads are (Haven't heard from Slaxx so not sure what he agrees with or not about this):

Yeah, me asking questions to better understand the roles, that's so scummy. If I was scum, I'd probably just be discussing the roles with my buddies in QT.

Speaking of which, while scum will have more cash, there's likely only 3 of them. So lets assume 9v3 (allowing for a 3rd party of some kind). They'd have to have x3 the money we have, which is possible, but they'd have to go crazy with it.

I agree that somebody should throw down a 99 bid on the NK, just to make them bid more.

Also, while I like the already proposed questions for the Set up Knowledge, the one that I want everybody to ask is "Are there more than two different win conditions amongst the PMs?" Then we can fuck around with the money questions.

I agree with this, and am kicking around an idea: I'm thinking, for the sake of knowing exactly who has it,

that any protown player that ends up with NKx1 should claim it so we can dictate how it should be used

(sort of like a second lynch). If no one comes forward, it'd be safer to say scum snapped it up. If the person who gets it doesn't follow our instructions, the idea that they might be scum would be

more likely

Agree with the first three. The last two I'm queasy about incase scum do get the NK and don't claim, we could be making it easier for scum to kill off abilites that could be useful, particularly if muitiple use.

Big surprise here, scum!Ghostlin wants to keep the vote manipulation powers hidden.
