So is there a time limit or are we waiting on a certain number?

kiwi really needs to learn when to keep his ideas to himself. Secret plot to get our QT wasn't exactly secret. If I wasn't so kind, I'd out the third member. Seeing that all of you can go up, if you don't I will be sad and confused.

I contributed what I could. I handed in a photoshop image that we ended up notusing for coherency reasons, and I gave pointers on what I felt would work. Most of the major discussion happened while I wasn't online.

I am quite satisfied with our final decision. I really like the concept and I think it would work well.

I'd say the weak links were JDGA and TornadoSwirl. TornadoSwirl never showed up while JDGA showed up once, after I prodded him and essentially went "great job guys."

Personally, it's not a move I favour. There's a reason why we are allowed to speak about this in private, and that's so they don't take pieces of our ideas and fit it in with there ideas. But he did very well, and would've made a better PM for the task had he wanted it, IMO.

I like it, but I think similar games have been done, even in recent past. Wizard battle is fairly close, in theme and some mechanics, though this Warlock is thankfully simpler, and has the addition of a playing-field. And team mechanics.
It's also rather similar to Rumble games, but I suppose that's cursory.
I probably wouldn't play it, but that's just personal preference.

OK, so I'm not crazy.

A game lives and dies based on its player activity (

Having to wait in line for your turn can often lead people to lose their interest in a game, so maximizing the amount of people a Mish Mash game can hold allows the game to survive and thrive. Games like Ferris Wheel and What Were You Thinking have virtually no limit on the amount of players that can participate at once, while Optimize allows those waiting in line to effect the current game's outcome.[/area]

Bump =/= Notification.
I put that there for a reason.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks PM when I see notification.

And if you bump a game and the players aren't posting in it anyways, they likely will continue to not post.

Then there's an issue with clarity in your essay. If you meant update/bump the thread, you should've put in update/bump the thread instead of notify the players.

Surely a phenomenal game has to be played for it to be phenomenal? It's not all there is to it, of course, but a big part of a successful game is a successful play session.

See: Planet Mafiascum which is stalled out, most of Berry's games. All of which have had medium-high activity levels.

A good game shouldn't be stalling by your own definition. If being active (of which I can only assume you mean the players, and not the mod) is part of a good game then this shouldn't happen.

There's also existing games like Yahtzee and Word Morph.

Well Ferris Wheel's Innovation was from the very first game that was made way back a long time ago. Just because it's not innovative now doesn't mean it wasn't innovative before. And then Quilford came up with an idea of "Lovers" with it, to make it Innovative again.

  • What did you do during this task?

I did some early work on the font and I did most of the wording.

  • I really really like it. I can't think of something that I would've changed.

  • How do you think Cybele performed as Project Manager?

  • Much better than Mists's, with no harm meant to Mist of corrse.

    Misc. Question

    • What are your thoughts on how the Project Managers handled the negotiation over a time extension? Did you think your team could have benefited from more time? Do you think either PM made a mistake in his negotiations?

    I think it's fair for several reasons. If one team needs an extension, and the other doesn't, why should we allow them to have a time extension? Plus they didn't need it anyways.

    FTR, what Mist is talking about:

    [ Ferris Wheel: Kill to Live ]

    Image

    [..][.:][::][::][:.][..]

    Round, like a circle in a spiral;
    like a wheel within a wheel.
    Never ending or beginning,
    on an ever spinning reel.
    Like a snowball down a mountain
    or a carnivale balloon.
    Like a carousel that's turning
    running rings around the moon.

    [..][.:][::][::][:.][..]

    To Whom it May Concern:

    Ok, here is the
    grave
    situation. All players are strapped into seats on a ferris wheel. None of you are going anywhere--our ride attendants saw to it that your restraints were tightly knotted before the ride began. But don't fret, for that is the least of your problems. At the highest point of the wheel, there is a machine gun that can
    obliterate
    any other player's seat in the time a player has to fire it before their seat starts to
    descend.
    Is this legal? Probably not, but who's going to stop us?

    How do you survive? It's simple:
    The last person standing wins!
    If you manage to dodge the bullets, you will be released from the ride with a box of popcorn and a sincere apology from our manager. If you feel nauseous at any point during the ride,
    too bad
    .

    Ah, well I digress. This game is ridiculously simple and barely needs a mod. Just as many people as possible may sign up. I would like to have 200 players. But I'll start it up if I can get 12ish within a few days.
    I will randomly put everybody in a turn order,
    and if people trickle in afterwards then they can just go at the end of the turn order. When it's your turn, you may

    Kill: Other Player
    in the thread. Then it is immediately the turn of the next living player in the turn order.

    If you do not kill somebody in
    26 hours
    of it becoming your turn, your grip on the gun causes your arms to be pulled off and you
    die
    . Next guy's turn.

    I will not
    prod
    people when it's their turn; that is everybody else's job! I trust you all have cell phones, though, so you can try to persuade people not to shoot you, or make alliances, etc. Definitely talk outside the thread if you want--it could very well save your life.
    Happy pickings.
