Also, just a reminder for everyone regarding Desert Island Discs. If I don't get 10 submissions total by next week on Tuesday, I'll be doing a 10 show run of chart hits in Europe, America and the UK. I'm currently sitting at 2, so that means 8 more (and it can be people off-site too, I'm fine with that).

I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking about Reck's show, or (as I'm more leaning towards) are you asking if the DJ's run the shows live?

If it's the former, he just gets a bunch of people to discuss mafia (and other stuff) on his show each week, you arrange with him in advance to appear on it.

If it's the latter, it depends on the DJ. Some shows can be done totally live (Nexus is always live, Reck's is live (though occasionally has pre-recorded stuff in there in the form of Mafia games), or you can pre-record them and play them at the assigned slot (that's how I do my show, as my computer's crap and I can't record the show as I broadcast without it playing havoc with the stream). To DJ you need a regular slot (PM the RadioScum account the slot you would be after), but you're free to broadcast in an empty spot whenever you wish. But if someone asks you to get off stream so they can broadcast, then you have to relenquish the stream.

You will of course only get details for broadcasting once you've been assigned a slot.

Desert Island Disc wiki is fully up-to-date. All 20 Desert Island Disc episodes are up for download, along with both Specials, and this week's Desert Island Discs replacement, Prana Devil's Bollocks, is also uploaded.

Bollocks will temporarily replace Desert Island Discs until I am moved and have internet access again, at which point we shall resume our previous Desert Island Disc schedule. In the meantime, get your 10 picks sent in. Do it yourself for the first time, hell do it for a second time for all I care! Get your friends to do it, I don't even care if they're not on MafiaScum, just tell them to e-mail me with their name (Or chosen name... nothing rude or I'll make up something stupid for them) and their picks. It doesn't matter who they are, or how they get their picks to me (if they know me in real life, write it on a sheet of paper and hand it to me, I don't care!), just get those picks in.

Seems to entirely depend on day, time and whether anyone wants to listen to the DJ (Or in my case, the person who's on Desert Island Discs that week). Some shows you'll have over 10 people on, at other times (and I think Nexus suffers from this more due to the time of his show) you can wind up with just one or two listeners.

Sometimes people will start a couple of minutes past the official time to start. If I start bang on 5pm EST according to my clock, I get people telling me I'm 5 minutes late. Reck was actually 3 minutes early according to my computer.

I think the real problem is that if a game is in sign-ups for ages, people join the game purely to force the game out of sign-ups so the game they want to play can move into sign-ups. I'd say a limit of 3 weeks. If it reaches that point without filling, class it as abandoned. It's not making things into only letting elite mods run games, as I've only modded two games on here, one was a mini-theme and I easily filled that quickly. Only crap mods would have trouble, and games with themes no bugger wants to play. Forcing them out of the queues after a set time is only a good thing.

And I agree JD, but I was erring on the side of longer as opposed to shorter. Two weeks should be ample, but occasionally there will be the time it gets close to being full and needs a couple of people in. Maybe the List-Mod's discretion? If it's hit 2 weeks and only needs one or two to fill it up, leave it there another week, if it's half full at best, then insta-boot at 2 weeks.

I was kinda considering doing the Desert Island Disc thing myself, but in a different way. As there are the odd times when I really need sleep but can't due to needing to stop the stream, I was considering just having the most recent episodes play on a repeat. So I play the most recent in the normal timeslot, and then from midnight to 8am have the last four shows in order play.

Of course, the podcast type thing may work better anyway now, as with the little amount of listeners I was getting it was barely worth it to stay up and broadcast.

Wont be able to do much for at least a month anyway as I'm still sorting stuff out in the new place, so I'll check how things are currently standing around that time. But we really either need to give it a big boost again, or cut the radio station entirely. One or two intermittent shows isn't really making it worthwhile, especially when the AutoDJ drastically needs fixing (like us putting music back on there for a start) if the station is to stick around.

CF, as it stands I don't think there's anything being broadcast live, hell for a long period only myself and Reck were doing shows, and only Recks was ever live (I pre-recorded mine). Reck doesn't do his show anymore (though I guess he may in the future), and I'm now on DemonFM (http://www.demonfm.co.uk or 107.5 FM for anyone in Leicester in the UK) at 8am on Sundays... and I still pre-record.
