E2. Party Room: Unimportant, but there shouldn’t be a party hosted here. It makes players be able to skip around the map too quickly. Another alternative usage can be: One player goes to the door control, another goes to start a party. Close the party room off, then have everyone jump to the party, including the door controller- YAY, we got a normal mafia game without odd mechanics. I’m not sure abut enacting this plan because there’s oh so many ways this can go wrong. A possibility is doing this within the later stages of the game.

Nacho here, compiling a post now. But first: a few notes.

Since we just took a serious hit on chits, moving maru to the potions room is a very small priority. First of all, it's a gamble sending him there: we don't know whether the power he receives is going to be good/useful, and even if he does get a strong powerrole, we're still going to have to spend a ton of chits we don't have getting him back to a place where he can use his powers. All of that, and it's likely he's going to be nightkilled anyways.

Top priority right now is getting someone to the move checker, and closing it in as much as possible if we can help it. It's in our best interest to have someone in there for the majority of the game, and so I'd elect putting Maru in there now since he's trustworthy and close. If we want to move him to the potions room (assuming he's alive by tomorrow), we can move him out when we have a replacement ready and willing. Llama to the panic room should be done ASAP, so I'm planning to move him to the party room if throwing the switch doesn't count for any chits.

Secluded Villa should only be used as a waypoint to door control after today, and as a place for some of the sketchier people to go if they aren't contributing much in thread. We need thinking minds out in the open, and we need them to be in the War Room and the Security Room and the Move Checker so we can have trusted people operating those things since they won't be around for long. I also think Nexus should be off-limits, the neutral areas should be the electric chair and the party room. Only room in Rank D that should ever be operated is the Panic Room, then 3 people maximum beyond that (one move checker, one war room, one potions).

Finally, Fate. Don't see a reason we should worry about him today, honestly. We have shit to get done today, and there's no use bothering with him at the moment.

If scum didn't want to get Magua electrocuted, they would have to submit a no-move on one of the switch actions. This was most likely more than they could afford, especially considering the tipping point maneuver. If Amrunscum didn't submit that action, someone most likely would've asked questions as to why scum would stretch themselves out THAT thin OR amrun could have gotten investigated by a powerrole and caught. Scum really couldn't afford losing three members in two days that quickly, and so they would be far less likely to take a risk like that.

And call me a skeptic, but I seriously doubt someone this new to the game would be able to peg two scum upon replacing in (especially without taking scumhunting seriously) unless those scum were his partners. His belief that killing scum confirmed him as town (demonstrated by his immediate request to be let into the security room after killing Magua as well as the fact that the entirety of his defense is "but I killed Magua!").

Speaking of which, the Magua-Soda interaction absolutely REEKS of scum, note Soda's weak attempts at pressure on Magua in #817, #821, and #823, and Magua's subsequent responses. Magua at first ignores Soda, who pressed on, and is given a few canned responses that suggest Magua is trying to limit the interactions as much as possible. In Magua's ISO #42, he calls SodaSpirit a weak town read for his pushing of iamusername, which seems like an attempt to give a little towncred to Soda's bussing attempt, but not leaning his neck out far enough to link himself with him.

Also, his hesitation in throwing the switch was pretty damn strange: he adamantly attempt to save himself from having to pull the switch on Magua until he gets to this point...

This will fuck up scum plans in case they try to pull the tipping point trick again. I'd also like if Plum closed the doors between the nexus and the switch, and between the nexus and the ragetorium. I chose to no action night 2 mostly because I thought we were restricted to all adjacent rooms (as are all regular moves), and that assumption was the reason for my having to hold a comment on hito's claim in ISO #70, and wanting Baby Spice to claim whatever restrictions she might have. The subsequent dropping of that line of questioning was a result of zoraster confirming that we didn't have a restriction of any sort.

I'm on my way out, Elli's making good progress and should be posting soon. I probably will only be able to give you little snippets like this for a week or so before I'm back up to full speed. I do want to point out that we have priority protection on Reg as well, since the closest people to him are two squares away, and protection comes before killing.

This tells me there's a pretty great chance of us not being in mylo. If we were in mylo, pretty sure scum-Andy would just line up all his eggs in a basket in buddying up to everyone but him.

Actually, here's what I think should happen:

Andy, Maru --> Secluded Villa (6 chits insured)
Hito---> Secluded Villa, reload --> Door Control (2 chits insured, 1 Hito Chit)
Shut door between Secluded Villa and Ragetorium, and between the ragetorium and the electric chair. (4 Hito Chits)
Open the door to the panic room, let llamarble out. (1 Hito Chit)
Llamarble, Reg --> Party Room (10 chits, insured)

This leaves exactly 12 chits left over, which is coincidentally all the chits the scum have to work with. So we should be able to get all of this done, assuming scum conscription and whatnot.


Before this begins, I'm going to point out something:
If I am scum, Maruchan is my likeliest buddy.
If Andrius is scum, Regfan is his likeliest buddy.

Meaning that if I am not scum, Maru probably isn't either.
If Andy's not scum, Reg's probably not either.

But I just want to point out Andy and Reg's mutual backing up of one another and attacking of Maruchan, so you can understand the basis of my plan.

Anyways, after all this good stuff happens, I'm lynched with Andy dying by gunfire on a townflip. If I'm scum, this leaves hito with a wide open shot on Maru which would probably end the game, or, at worst, leave the section with hitoconftown and andyprobtown. If I'm town, this leaves conftownhito and 99.5%town maru safe behind closed doors. It also leaves 99%townLlamarble and Regfan outside of closed doors. If Reg is scum, he will be forced to shoot Llamarble. If Maru is scum, he will be forced to shoot hito. Meaning that if for some crazy/obnoxious reason lynching Regfan and shooting Andrius doesn't end the game, we still have leeway to survive, and hito will have the option to A) shoot maru to kill both of them simultaneously, or B) lynch Regfan the next day, a Regfan that won't be able to reach him through the closed door. As a bonus, it's a pretty safe guess that Maru, if mafia, would not have any powers at all, or a pretty good chance of having the door opening power (why lie about what you received from potions?), and thus couldn't run from the righteous bullets of justice.

Anyways, I know this is ranty(ish), but I'll whip the plan into shape when I have more time and it's not sleepytime, and answer questions in the meantime.

When you're moving into college, you don't really look too closely into mafia.
Do you think that Nautscum would perceive some advantage in claiming to protect Regfan over the claimed mason?
