mykonian's post, with this playerlist, makes me ask the following questions about meta, to all of the players.

1. How often do you feel you use meta as an argument in Mafia?

2. Do you prefer proactive (using as a reason to investigate a player's actions) or reactive (using to backup/contradict what a player did) meta?

3. How often are you to research meta on a player whose meta you don't know in the game?

4. Do you prefer to use meta to defend a player as being town, or attack them for being scum?

And My answers:
1. Occasionally, only as needed in a tough situation, once or twice a game, but never in a high pressure situation like end game. I prefer to use it as a way of noting a disconnect in thinking/actions.

2. Reactive, I'll almost only use it as a way of backing up reasoning in the game.

3. Rarely. I try to use it when it's brought up, and see if I agree with it, if it's a player whose meta I don't know.

4. Both, leaning towards the attacking/scum arguements.

1) Very little.
2) proactive
3) If the meta is the reasoning behind the vote/wagoning, I don't mind looking it up.
4) Defend someone been town.

Because I did like the wagon, but it isn't my preferred lynch. So I see no reason to force a claim which might not help us at all.

The point of a wagon is to either get someone lynched or have them claimed.
You supported the wagon, which means you supported one of the above.
But you just said you don't want a claim, but don't want him hammer as you obviously unvoted him.

I am not too sure I believe Fate at the moment, he pulled the mason claim as scum in Fire Emblem game claiming his partner was his mason buddy then bussed his 3rd party member.

I do have one game of town-meta for TheJakalope (and he has scum-meta on me) so I do want to look at him more closely. At first read this looks like similar play from him though.

On my lurkyness and non-contributory, its a yes and no.
Yes I do lurk, but not this much.
Yes I usually don't contribute much, but not this much.
Sadly I haven't had a day off in a while, co-workers got sick and we hired new people which forced me to train them on my days off (and I only get two days off =/).

Before my investigation of Fate, my read on Noc was scum just on the sole purpose that I believed Fate was claiming mason with a scumbuddy.
Currently, I am leaning scum on Myko. The way he attacked Reck and Dram, was not in a town motion for me. I haven't forgotten about that, especially since I have a confirm town on Dram. But, Myko seems to be doing a lot more work then a lot of our town flips.

Its a stupid reason, but I believed that Fate was scum claiming mason. Just like in the last game, Fate bussed his other partner. So in this game, I believed that Fate was going to bus another one of his partners, and therefore I was confident that Xvart was going to flip scum.

I received no result.
Don't mind confession this, but I didn't receive a result Night 3 either.
My read on Fate as town was due to how he reacted after I claimed.
He roared that he was town. I've never seen someone roar they are town unless:
1) They are town
2) They are scum-godfather which probably means investigation immune.
3) They are gambitting scum.
2/3 possibility say my result would be town, and went with it, hoping that I was right.

On the same note, I don't believe I was roleblocked solely. I think I was jailkeeped, as their is no night kill 3 and only 1 kill last night (assuming no vig).
Not sure why someone would Jailkeep me (assuming town) and prevent my result, but having two missing kills (assuming no vigs) lead me to this conclusion.
