I'd say that putting me at -1 is nearly as scummy as demanding a hammer on this particular wagon. Whether it's joking or not, Glork knows that there's more than likely some bloodthirsty tard, town or scum, willing to do the funny thing to get attention. And in this case, off someone who's actually somewhat decent at finding scum.

Also, your vote is in fact OMGUSy in nature... it's a reaction to the fact that I asked someone to kill you. "You say you want me dead so I'm going to vote for you" is OMGUS any way you look at it.

I'll also note that at the time of my vote on you, eleven people had posted. Eight had voted me, two had not, and one was the mod.

The two who didn't vote for me voted for Phoebus for joke/random reasons, and I wasn't about to vote the mod, so every other nonrandom vote choice available to me would have resulted in an OMGUS vote in the way you define it.

Therefore, your painting of my vote on you as OMGUS is:

1) meaningless
2) inflammatory
3) deceptive and/or careless

You've made it clear that hammering in that situation is something you condone, yet you are watching other players for that behavior. You encouraged it knowing it was entirely likely to happen, knowing full well the result would be bad for town. And you claimed to be watching for responses, yet given the multitude of wagon-hoppers you chose to joke vote one of the few people not to hop the wagon.

It's fine if your advertised day one/two style is manic--that is, if town doesn't mind you hiding your anti-town play amidst a forest of meaningless trees.

One more thing.... please, MBL, explain to me how you can "smell a suckup" out of Klebian and think that I'm scum at the same time.

Clearly that theory that klebian was sucking up would require him to be:

1) a bad player
2) a member of a different scumteam than you
3) a serial killer
4) scum while you're town

Any are possible, I just noted the oddness of the klebian QFT post and it looks like Sarc agreed.

As for your behavior, Glork, it was clearly anti-town but it remains to be seen whether that was malicious or careless.

Nightson, jokes on their own aren't scummy, but when a pattern emerges from them, or if it's all someone does, it's fair to draw some conclusions. You don't want to find Glork scummy, and you're cracking repeated jokes to try to sneak that point across to the town subtly.

Actually, you simply voted STD and typed a <3, so I'm not sure that should have been interpreted by anyone to mean jack. It looks like just another joke.

In my book the most important thing Day 1 is discussion and whether it comes about through people being serious or people reacting to non-serious content it's all discussion.

This looks a lot like Glork's "why is everyone attacking me for things that could be scummy it's my schtick" schtick. If it's just discussion, why get defensive about it?

I dunno, when someone feels the need to remind me a) that jokes aren't scummy and then b) that joking around d1 isn't scummy if it spawns any type of discussion, I see that as an extreme reaction to a tiny amount of suspicion. Plenty of scum pop into a defensive mindset earlier than townies because they know their opponents aren't scum.

I understand that scum like you aren't looking for such fine distinctions, Glork, and would therefore make light of other people's observations of hyperdefensiveness.

See, it's only pressure if there's an apparent reason there. Otherwise, your vote exerts no more leverage than a random vote. In fact, an unreasoned vote actually SIPHONS pressure from its target because it makes other people look at the voter more closely than the votee.

I'd take a Nightson, Glork or inHim lynch at this point. Their reckless play doesn't really seem to bear a concern in the least for hitting scum instead of town. There are many other people who need to contribute, but they can hide behind the veil of site outages so meh.

Scum probably killed me cause my five suspicions day one were Glork, bird, CES, Nightson, inHim. And they were fairly strong suspicions--Nightson looked REALLY bad.

I left two or three huge clues to my role--saying my job was to search out and find scum. I don't think anyone noticed.
