I went home for Memorial Day Weekend, and within hours of my arriving, my mother broke the computer. As such, I've had no internet access until now.

I'm reading the thread now and will post my thoughts at the end. Sorry.

Alright, it's apparent that Nekka-Lucifer is either very raw or very scummy, and it's possible that he's both. I really don't like his attempt to do some sort of word association thing on page 3; that strikes me as either an attempt to divert attention from himself or to encourage a quick day.

That being said, I'm not going to vote for him yet. I've learned my lesson about accidentally putting people at -1 from other games.

As for the other contributers so far: I get a vibe that xdaamno may be trying to hide in plain sight, but that's only a gut feeling and I'm not even going to make a formal FOS. I'll need to see more (preferably not about N-L) before making any further conclusions.

Well, since right now we don't have anything to go on, what with us not knowing who Nekka-Lucifer was, I'm going to

. I have two reasons for doing so:

1) Thok pretty much gave him a free pass to lurk by not requiring confirmation from him.
2) mlaker = Los Angeles Lakers = Kobe Bryant = wanted Shaq dead.

It's a stupid idea. Because if we don't lynch anyone at all today, we're going to be in the same spot as we were, minus players from nightkills. It's lose-lose.

I agree with A Papaya above. Our odds of getting a mafia tonight if we lynch someone is 1/11. Our odds if we don't lynch tonight is 0%, plus we get a dead townsperson. On other sites I've noticed that people who vote No Lynch on the first day are more likely than not to be scum, and I am always wary when an experienced player votes No Lynch.

Now, it has been brought up that No Lynch will get us more time. This is silly. It makes No Lynch sound like something other than a bad plan, when in actuality, No Lynch puts us at the mercy of doctors or roleblockers, neither of which are definitely in the game.

Unless I missed something, the three people praising No Lynch at some point are Yogurt, xyzzy, and Fletcher. I want to place a

minor FOS: YogurtBandit

for suggesting it in the first place, a

major FOS: xyzzy

for advocating a plan of not lynching every night, which would undoubtedly kill off too many townspeople before we got a confirmed Mafia.

. I am tenetively sure that Nekka_Lucifer was pro-town. In Fletcher's post 150, I think he's trying to steer us into believing that Nekka-Lucifer was scum. This in itself is not enough to merit a vote, but I noticed that Fletcher has stated that he would "be fine with a no-lynch", and as an experienced player, he should know better. I also noted that he never actually voted No Lynch; I think that he's attempting to get others on the No Lynch bus without getting on it himself. Finally, he brings up the fact that he has had a long leave of absence from Mafia several times, and I think this may be to provide an excuse for sub-optimal play under the guise of rust.

Oh, the set-up for this game made specific mention about how Shaq is a cop in real life. This may mean that there is no cop in the game (he's been killed already), so voting No-Lynch and waiting for the cop to save us is even more of a horrible idea.

I think you're overthinking the part where Yogurt said specified he was randomvoting. After a modkill, we could have either discussed what the ramifications of the modkill were or we could have started over at the random vote stage. Neither option was necessarily a bad one, and I can see YogurtBandit wanting to make it clear which option he was choosing.

I do agree that his plan is reliant on 1) the game having roles that we aren't sure exist, and 2) those roles acting perfectly on the right people, and this is suspicious. Like I said above, I'm not quite ready to upgrade my minor FOS to anything stronger, but you may be onto something.

Eh. After rereading xdaamno's posts, I'm not convinced he's scum. Of course, it helps that he's been suspicious of many of the same people I've been suspicious of, although he's been more generous to Fletcher than I feel Fletch deserves.

Especially with deadline coming, it appears that xdaamno is going to be today's lynch, but I would like the record to show that I am not on the metaphorical train to Lynchxdaamnoville.

As for Xdaamno, I have know way of know whether or not he's town or not. However, I see at least three people I would rather see lynched than Xdaamno, and I'd prefer that we chose one of them for reasons explained in other posts.

Xdaamno made an excellent point on the last page that everybody glossed over: mlaker proposed lynching Xdaamno today and schismatized tomorrow, since schismatized has been semi-vigorously defending Xdaamno. Yet, using that logic, schis would indeed be the more logical choice.

Believe me, I am very well aware that Xdaamno may fuck me over at any time. However, with all the people citing their gut as a reason to vote Xdaamno, I don't see how you can begrudge me using my gut to not vote Xdaamno.

Why? Plenty of people don't like Shaq. Besides, Thok deliberately refused to confirm that all the roles are NBA players at the All-Star Game. There could be a Dick Bavetta out there, or a David Stern, or some other ref/executive.

All of this is neither here nor there, however. Right now we're discussing who we want to lynch today.

There is a Xdaamno camp. After that you (schis) and mlaker each have 2 votes, followed by one for me.

Xdaamno claimed his NBA player above, albeit not his powers. Do we believe him? Nobody has counterclaimed yet, which is, so far at least, an indicator that Xdaamno is tellling the truth. Also, I don't see Jason Kidd being particularly scummy, especially when my guess for who the Mafia characters are would be Kobe, Rasheed Wallace, and a non-player.

Of course, that's all speculation.

As for schis, I've been watching him/his predecessor all game, and while I haven't seen any red flags, there have been some yellows. Particularly when part of the reason many people ae voting XDaamno is because Schis has defended him all game, then Schis becomes the person to lynch BEFORE Xdaamno. Perhaps they're scum together. Perhaps Schis is scum and is defending Xdaamno because he know's that he's town, much like TCS accused me of doing earlier. Either way, Schismatized should come before Xdaamno.

Mlaker has been relatively quiet. However, after talking mostly about players not named Xdaamno, he suddenlt posts that he's suspicious. This is followed by a vote, and then by a statement that he has a "gut feeling", and then that he is "quite sure" Xdaamno is scum. So, mlaker, why are you now "quite sure" if you only had a gut feeling before?

If we're gonna pick any of the four people above, I don't see how Schismatized isn't the play.

Good game, everyone. I'm glad I caught xyzzy right away, but I'm dismayed by how trusting I was of xdaamno. I'm also upset that I accidentally revealed I had a powerrole, which I assume is why I was nightkilled right away.
