Seems that the act of dice voting itself can spark discussion.

But that discussion is limited to "why are you dice voting", which is a discussion not worth having that often.

Agreed. Dice-roll voting is a post not worth making, and is a waste of space. I often think it's an excuse not to think or to try (or both).

Random voting isn't the issue here, sometimes you don't always have a reason and if your vote

is

arbitrary, it's not necessary to make up a "joke reason". Dice tags are different, you're saying in public "here is my vote which I

guarantee

has no basis for reasoning behind it and is therefore meaningless". It's distancing yourself from your actions before you've even taken them.

Agreed - sometimes you can get a sense (albeit a slight one) of someone's townness/scumness based on how they random vote at the beginning. (Most frequently, it's a sense of town-likeliness.) Dice voting prevents this potential read, and it is decidedly anti-town to negate a possible (even if slight) town read on yourself.
