What's easier for scum:

To give thoughts on the setup
Or to give reads.

I think theorizing about the setup or giving your opinion about it etc is much much easier for scum seeing as they have other people who they've already talked to or seen talking about the setup.

The fact that he skips the setup question and answers the reads question just reads super genuine and townie.

@Dayne: scum might have opinions on setup. Scum might not have TOWN opinions on setup prepared. That's at best null.

I mean, it's kinda not hard to do for example:

In scum private thread: "I think total war helps us for X reasons"

On game thread: "I think not total war helps us because total war benefits scum for X reasons".

Or the opposite. Or any other thoughts regarding setup. It's easy to form a "townie" opinion when you've already formed an opinion.

What do you think about what I said about Something Special?

Do you see it as genuine, someone who sincerely hasn't given much thought/bothered with the setup (because I can assure you scum would have much more thought about the setup - so your only two options really are that it reads genuine or that he faked not having any thoughts about the setup)?

Do you disagree that he went after something that is more dangerous when he could've went with the easier route?

How anyone can be town reading Nukebringer after Firebringer's bullshittery is beyond me

So I don't really see how you would expect anyone to see this as anything but an unresolved interaction? It's basically him going "i think ur scum because u said im scum" and then you going "now i know ur scum bitchhhhh".
If you want this to be anything more than a petread you should push it better.

I think he's one of those abrasive personalities that's hard to read if you don't have experience with him.
I look at some posts and think the bravado would be hard to fake as scum and other posts where his logic and reasoning just doesn't reach me at all and I feel like maybe it's fake.
I'm not sure if I'm giving enough of a shit this game to actually look into meta, but I feel like that sort of thing would help with sorting him.

I might try a different catch up style this game... I've always been bad at finding scum just by reading posts and looking for what sticks out, so I might try a different approach and see if it works better for me.

That said, summaries are always appreciated.

And, as evidenced by the signup thread, I voted no to Total War partially because I don't want to be nuked N1 (very likely regardless of my alignment) and because I think that that adds too much chaos to this game at the beginning.

I have other responsibilities to do including homework and other modding commitments, and this game generally comes as last in my priority list.
