The rest of the staff had gone to seek shelter in the bunker some twenty levels deeper than the Radar level, or had fled the complex entirely.

Alone, Lieutenant Errantparabola hurried busily between monitors and displays, working until the very end. There were still ICBMs being fired and he needed to brief the facilities across the country of any changes in trajectory or enemy movement.

If he fled with the rest of command, who would warn them? Who would inform the White House of the loss of Nellis Air Force Base?

Who would advise the remaining fighters of Coyote Squad to the nearest military base?

Who would- wait. Was that a Russian stealth bomber? He ran to the display and stopped in his tracks. All of his work paid off - he was able to finally pinpoint it.

[NORAD SYSTEM] WARNING: ICBM DETONATION IMMINENT.

"Mister President, the Cheyenne Mountain Complex is gone. Even the bunker was destroyed."
"We'll be blind without them."
"Sir, the logs show that one Lieutenant Errantparabola was in the command room until the end, directing our forces and monitoring incoming ICBMs. His last message read 'I found it.'"
"Found what?"
"Who knows, sir."
"We'll give him a posthumous commendation. See to it."

Well, I can talk more about it tonight when I'm back from work, but the SS votes dropped on D1 are kind of awkward and the Spiff/Accountant interactions are especially weird.
Accountant calls Spiff weird.
Spiff doesn't respond. [which is pretty non-standard Spiff behavior, I would seriously expect him to either try to discredit or dissuade someone]
Accountant then proceeds to hard-defend Spiff for the rest of the game.
Spiff puts Accountant in the top tier of his top block without having commented on him at all beforehand.

Really just feels like the sort of interactions that I can see Spiff going for and Accountant trying to deal with it and it maybe not working out as cleanly as either of them would have liked.
Entirely possible that Spiff just felt like Accountant would be easier to ignore than to push but just.. no reaction just feels more like he feels like Accountant is no threat because he knows he's no threat via scumbuddy. I suspect Spiff is like me in that he tends to skim his scumbuddies' posts because they're not as important to what he's trying to accomplish as scum.

I'm also feeling that Accountant's votes have that air of scum bussing where they feel they need to. Especially the hops on and off the SS wagon.

I'd say LLD is a scumlean and maybe a valid nuke [other than the fact that she probably isn't going to die if someone nukes her], but I'm also wondering if like 75% of the playerlist is scum right now so that's also a thing.

Then who is scum exactly? I think Cheetory is town, I think Mastin and Reck are town, I think LLD is town, I think SpyreX is town. Vax felt like town based on Spiffeh's interaction, although it's a bit marginal still. MoI is town. I think GIF's counterclaim makes him likely town, that makes Hiplop at least not-Russian. That's 9 town. Zito is likely town from the sub, although he could be scum earning points. Nahdia is town.

You and me are probably dying.

So that leaves what, Accountant, Cephrir, McMenno, Ircher? I still think Accountant is pretty town. Hiplop could be SK I suppose, he's done jack shit. Nuking Cephrir sadly is probably not the worst.
