o.O Crazy... Only three pages... this is like a first for me.. so used to replacing into month long games...

After reading that I feel even more crazy for replacing into Poet's Anonymous! Don't even get me started...

Hi! My name is Korlash...

*mumbles* Hi korlash *mumbles*

... And I am a recovering Poetry junkie...

*Crowd awws*

[Breakdown and cry] T_T [/breakdown and cry]

I'm not the biggest fan of random votes so i wont bother... But I think a bazooka is an obvious scum tell weapon. I mean a rocket launcher seems more pro-town right?

So...

Real evidence? Theres no such thing in a game of mafia... Just speculation, "tells," and personal opinions.

Also I very much believe a mass claim is bad. Open game or not. Especially should the mafia have the role switcher... >.> <.< Coolest role I have ever heard of...

Also:
sensfan wrote:The scum will have no choice but to claim their actual roles
They could very much lie and claim unpowered. or even worse claim cop or doc and get them busted. All in all mass claims are generally a bad idea. In my experience though, it is more likely a towny brings it up then a scum.

So yeah... No to the massclaim...
Jex wrote:To the mass claim: the role and the alignment are separate from each other so for all we know there could be a scum detective. Mass claiming doesn't help us at all.
Could be a scum doc, or a scum mason, or a scum RB too... But yeah, your right the claim doesn't help us.

That would be kinda pointless wouldn't it? A scum cop... lolz...

Well seeing as how we have no tracker there is no way to prove you didn't do what the town wanted you too anyways... Unless your the Sk in which case not killing is enough...

Then again the RB can catch people in a lie I suppose...

Man what have I got myself into...

*sighs*

I feel better... Still Your totally overlooking the fact that an unpowered scum will claim "unpowered" and even if he/she does the kill we will have no way of knowing that.

Directed at Sens btw...

Um... Well technically I have the power of a super awesome mind.. but other then that.. yeah I'm pretty worthless...

Also I too think the Role Switcher is king here. But the re-opener is kinda dull until people start dying you know. At this very second that player is kinda worthless. Then is we lynch an unpowered tonight they are worthless too. But yeah, later on they become useful.

Wouldn't it suck if we lynched the reopener today? XD

Vote: Phate

No offense man but if they have a cop role then it's obvious who they make kill. If they have the switcher and two other roles then that one obviously does the kill. if they have the role reopener tonight that one kills. I may agree that theorys that have no impact on the game are dumb, but I hate even more when someone gets all uppity towards me for no reason and then comes out with a stupid theory of his own.

The mafia does not NEED an unpowered...

... There is a MS MTG Tourney? First time I ever heard of that... and my native language is slang, followed by broken English, mixed with some Japanese at times, and ending in a lovely French accent with a small hint of Native dialect...

And yet again I find Phate speaking nonsense...
Phate wrote:The SK is incapable of using any role, period (unless he doesn't want to kill, but I don't find that particularly likely).
I will kindly point you towards...

This plan of yours really does not begin until tomorrow... So... Yeah... What does your plan include for today if I may ask?

I have bad news... the claimed "vanilla" will obviously be Nked... *Duh*

(If the dead person had a power that is)

So your plan kind of... well... Pointless...

But it is good in theory... If the opener and switcher could have figured that out without telling everyone and their mothers the plan could work...

in a sense it does direct the Mafia Nk... But it won't bring us any "new" powers/roles throughout the game...

Um... In a few days there will be no unpowered left... And so... No... Do none of you ever think anything through?

And yeah, according to Phate's plan, the "vanilla" that the mafia NK WILL be powered. That player will have whatever power was just reopened. *duh*

Phate wrote:Of course, it will never get that far because eventually one of the role manipulators will die, but look at it this way: we have the equivalent of a doctor that works on roles. So if they do shoot the former vanilla, that means we're forcing them to hit the vanillas. How much easier do you think this game would be if scum were forced to kill all the vanillas first?
Yes. Which is why the plan works. However you keep saying the plan will "Keep our roles alive' which is a lie.
Phate wrote:Korlash and Thanatos, who apparently don't read my posts, because they bring up objections that I've just responded to in my last posts.
More unneeded attitude.. ouch... Sorry that I have to call you on your bad theories and bad conclusions all the time. I just like to point out where people lie and/or make mistakes. In your case I'm hoping they were simply mistakes...

Phate wrote:This vote will stay until you either stop insisting that the plan could help scum or explain why. Since there's no reason (that I can see) that this would do anything except hurt scum, trying to convince others that it would help scum without explaining why strikes me as scummy.
The only way your plan helps scum is on days when we lynch a non-powered role. Then they know of a vanilla, and so their NK will obviously have better odds of hitting Switcher/opener...

I agree, your plan is good. We should sue it. But it will not be exactly what you said it will. For now we have our unpowered (Me) so lets focus on finding the scum today. We can regroup with the plan later in the day when a lynch is more imminent.
OtM wrote:Phate is making sense. Your disagreement with his plans does not seem like townie reasoning to me. There is a marked difference between the way Korlash and Sensfan have disagreed and discussed the issues around the plan and how you have discussed the plan. You don't seem to have any non-BS reasons for disagreeing, basically.
As hard as it is to concentrate while looking at your avvy, I think sens is agreeing with the plan a bit too easy and as seen in his last post ( Post 125) he seems to still think it will work the way Phate said it will.

Overall I don;t like the sudden switch to Thanatos so fast, but only 2 votes is not that bad.

Your right. I was thinking of 007 when he said "recycling roles" the closest you have come to outright saying it is when you said "It'll be literally a town full of powerroles." Which was way back when you first came up with the idea.

For the most part, Subject dropped.

On to more scummy thing... I mean... >.> <.< More... Um... Things...

I have nothing... I could recite my favorite poem...

...The pen was shoved in my veins
And God grabbed the reins
And as if I was a mule He said,
"I'll use you as my tool
and plow the field with you.
Fulfilling empty minds' needs
While planting knowledge seeds.
No longer will it be a flourishing time
For malnourishing minds.
I want you to make intelligence a law
Because ignorance is a crime.
Now, I need you to go
And reap what you sow
While captivating minds like Edgar Allan Poe"...

Man once I get going I cannot stop... Gemineye rocks... Almost makes me want to write my own...

The sheep sat in the mud...
Wow this poem is already a dud...
The first two lines are such a bore,
it makes me want to start to snore!
Oh please tell me there is no more!
I'll give you five bucks to stop now bud!

Yeah... Man now you guys got me doing it... This should be called awful poems mafia... ><

Night Communicators- They talk at night with each other...

Also Scum also gets a more likely chance of HITTING a remaining power role each night. You have to honestly add that into your plan.

As for the night kill thing. Eventually the SK will have to become "anti-Mafia" ad start aiming for them. I agree though. Tonight we will pretty much lose two townies.

Also... What if the mafia got the re-opener and/or the switcher? Wouldn't that suck...

On you? Eh... You seem to be getting a lot of unnecessary heat from this. But I think it gives a good stand on both you and Phate so i see no harm in letting it continue.

On the plan? i thought it was great until the doc thing got outed. Now I just see it as a good way to force who the Nk is.

Unvote him? Dude... You have been systematically attacking him for having an opinion... He has been defending himself... I don;t know what yoru doing here but I think your rasping at straws...

Also, not that it makes any difference to you guys but I know the last time i pushed a "Pro-Town game plan/strategy" that was actually logically BEST FOR TOWn, I was scum. Just a thought. What better way for a scum to hide then as the town hero right?

As for your so called "trade-offs"... No... Not beneficial to town... Um... More... Less bad scenario for town. such as... Instead of losing both the Doc AND cop, we woudl only lose let's say the Doc. Not good for town, but a hell of a lot better then the alternative. THAT is a very very good example/sum up of what your plan may do tonight. Can you honestly call that beneficial to town? That my friend is a flaw, not an unacceptable flaw, but still a flaw.

I think Phate is trying too hard to convince us just how great the plan is, and he is intentionally trying to sugar coat the downsides. Stop it.
Phate wrote:I've actually got my eye over on kabenon, who, as Korlash pointed out, is being noncommital.
Sorry... not so good with the memory thing... where did I do this?
Phate wrote:Oh, I can't help but notice that Phate lays off the second some people come out in support of me. It could just be a coinicidence, but I'm going to remember that.

True... But if say.. the vanilla would become the Doc for example. the mafia would want to off him/her before that happened... They may even fear the RB (Should we choose to bring that one back) and they will definitely fear the cop should the Doc still be alive. I don't think a smart mafia would let the cop/doc survive into the next night.

How about instead of Phate's plan we instead don't out the unpowered, and just RANDOMLY assign it to a player hoping they were unpowered! Hmmm... Not really sure if that is accurate in this case. I am very bad at making theories I

Hey Mod: Another question for you. If say, the reopener targets an alive player to "re-open" at night, and that player dies during the night, will the reopener successfully reopen the power? (IF said player had one that is)

No.

Secondly: If the reopener targets a vanilla, does it open the "Vanilla" role thus allowing the switcher to switch a role onto the dead player? Interesting Idea, I would just like to know for future strategies, games, ideas, etc...

Yes.

No. I agree the RB hurts us too much. That would be a role I would rather be assigned to a dead player. If the mafia has it we can kill them, but if a town has it we might as well switch and save the town. or that is the scenario in my head. Then it also boils down to endgame play. When we have ll the pro-town roles we want and we are simply siphoning off the mafia's powers.

See if the mod says a re-opened vanilla is turned into a "Power vessel" we, as town, can throw powers we do not want into the dead player, so the mafia do not get them. Also, if in the endgame we have 3 townies, one Doc, one Cop, and one switcher. And the mafia have lets say... RB or example, there is no town we want to switch with the RB. And so, to keep the mafia from having it, we switch it to the dead player.

Do you follow me? i admit I am bad at explaining things...

... Are you serious? you guys just attacked me for asking the mod a question? =|

*sighs*

To not answer anyone in general... But:

RB: Already been said. With all the powers in the game, the RB hurts us. Be it on a town or scum, the possibility of it blocking a useful role (Opener, cop, doc, switcher) that is on a town is very likely. So while people have thrown the idea out that once dead, we should leave the dead RB's power alone, I merely said we should simply try to save the townie (Provided it is on a towny) Not a big difference. So FoS: Whoever fosed me for such a stupid reason. Get a life...

Now to Holy! yay! A player I can have a meaningful conversation with!
Holy wrote:@ Korlash: You said that the RB hurts town and would be good if that role assigned to a dead player. The point is, how would we know who the player that have the RB role? This is such a speculative theory. Ok, lets back to scum hunting...
We don't. I just wanted to know if it was possible to open a dead unpowered as a vessel. I used the RB just as an example of why it MAY be needed/useful. I only want the town to know exactly what limits are on their powers so theories/plans can be brought to lite later. Now we also get into a claim, if a player claims RB, then we will simply do this, instead of lynching him. Much like Phate's plan, mine too has it's flaws, drawbacks, and a whole lot of IFs.
Holy wrote:O yeah right, sorry. So from Korlash's theory, thus dead vanilla switched 'blindly' to another alive player. Well, this could hurt town if the switcher accidentally target an innocents cop, doc, etc with the dead vanilla.
Yeah, I have no intention of just blindly switching powers here. The only real use I see for this is late game, when town no longer has unpowered left. So we can then switch the vanilla to the scum. This of course falls prey to the flaws that any lynch/vig kill has, which is we may target a towny thinking they are scum.
Holy wrote:Don't be fooled ;.; he is that kind of scum...
Throwing thoughtless theory just like that...
I am that kind of town too... A double edged sword.. Ripper... slasher... Tearer... Gouger...I am the teeth in the darkness! I am the Wings in the dark! I am Korlash! ROAR!

As it should... Talking to the mod should not in anyway prove anything one way or another... I guess I need to take a closer look at QB then...
QB wrote:I guess I'm confused about why you'd feel the RB was a danger to the town if it was on a townie.
Um.. cause he would not know who was scum/town for sure and could easily block our cop or doc. And no, I will not put my faith in another player that he will "Not use his night action" as I have been screwed over by vigs before and I have no doubt a RB could do the same. To trust anyone to keep their word in a game of mafia is simply moronic.

Ehh I think the OTM thing is going a bit fast for the evidnece I have seen brought to light. I will not say no to his lynch as I feel if town, we already have 1-2 scum on him. Making tomorrow that much easier...

But yeah...

I think Zhao put a pretty stupid case up near the top of this page... I agree with OTM on the misinterperate things. Not to mention Sarcasm is not the biggest scum tell in the world...

Zhao wrote:However here you put him in the trust group. What happened from post 178-273 from him being suspicious enough for a vote to one of you ‘trusted’ townies? That’s a pretty big change.
I dislike this point, yet I dislike OTM's answer even more... On one hand, I myself have drasitcally changed my opinions in 100 posts... yet I have no problem actaully telling them to the town myself...

Zhao wrote:What did you mean by “teammate”? The only teams possible are the scum team and night communicators. You trying to catch Phate with a guilt by association ploy incase you get lynched?
I am almost 100% positive he meant the "Town team" pretty hard to forget about that one isn't it? Unless of course you are not on it yourself...
Zhao wrote:
OTM wrote:
Post 290

Phate, to change gears slightly, what do you think of Thanatos's recent hop-on of your bandwagon? Doesn't THAT seem like buddying up, since it seems to irk you so much when people agree with you?

You are trying to defect Phate’s attention away from yourself.
No, he is trying to get Phate's opinion on another player. While, at the same time, throwing suspicion ONTO Phate.

so your actually wrong either way you look at it. I hate when attacker's are wrong in their attacks. If a case gives room for obvious strawmanning, it gives room for failure.
OTM wrote: I wasn't "setting up" anything, the only way you could interpret me that way is by reading me with your mind already made up that I am scum and that is poor play. I was suspicious of kabenon for being noncomittal, he continued being noncommital, he got my vote. It's really not hard to figure out.
I don;t like the "Non-commital" argument almost as much as I hate the "Opprotunistic" argument. Each one has it's own interpretation, and opinions of the matter will vary *Drastically* from player to player. What you see as non-commital, I may see as "Careful consideration" or maybe "Indepth examination." While I agree Zhao seems to have already made up his mind. This is cause for a scum pair relationship where one KNOWS he is bussing his partner... Not very strong, but not a bad starting place either.

OTM wrote:He has showed townish reasoning in the way he has reasoned out the pros/cons of the plan.
More please... cite examples, quotes, reasons.. whatever... convince me dang you! Stop being half assed about it.

OTM wrote:No, I have no idea where you got that idea. Maybe you just shouldn't read my posts if you're going to misunderstand them so badly. Seriously, this is troubling.
I hate it when someone tries to undermine their attacker... It is the only time I ever actually think arrogance can out a scum. Nice dodge too.

Zhao wrote:Thing is, both of them are acting pretty scummy so it's hard for me to agree with your statement. I hope you are not suggesting that a lively discussion is more important than scumhunting.
A lively disscussion is almost always needed to scum hunt... I mean you can try to scum hunt by clapping to yourself all day, I gaurantee you it will get you nowhere...

*laughs at Sensfan getting prodded 20 min after posting*

I really hate when a player does nothign BUT sarcasm though... *sigh* reciting peoples assumptions in a sarcastic tone, then arbitrarily dodging any useful discussion you could give is proabbly the reason no one seems to like yoru playstyle... I am always against a town lynch, but I love to lynch anti-town players...

Thanatos seems a little jumpy... Not sure what that means just yet... a bit more to go on I think...

Zhao wrote:When you voted for him in 178, he had posted some pro/cons of the plan (in which you edited out). You’re saying that his take on the plan pre-178 was scummy but post-178 was townie?

The thing is you posted nothing from 178-273 stating you felt kabenon was less suspicious. You only unvoted for him to bandwagon me. Suddenly dropping the ball in 273 stating he was a trusted townie doesn’t make sense.
this is a good part of yoru case me thinks. I too am disapointed in OTM's responce and would love to hear more on this...

Zhao wrote:@kabenon: Would you care to add your thoughts on this?
I'm sorry... were you not the one who attacked OTM for asking Phate a similar question?

Zhao wrote:Are you still trying to buddy up with Phate even after he gave you that bussing?

I’m not satisfied at all with your explanations. Vote: OTM
First, I agree his explanations sucked... L-3 is not *that bad* so vote is ok for now... You definitly need to take it off should another vote surface, unless you can somehow manage a better attack.

Second, I don't understand you here. By Bussing are you implying you think OTM and Phate are partners? Not implying anything myself, simply asking.

Not likeing QB... Can't say for sure why just yet... Bad juju I guess...

sorry for the intermitant posting... got things going on elsewhere...

OTM's. I can accept the "I don;t have time" thing because I too will/may have to use it later myself. RL issues and other games and the like always spring up you know. Just not for very long. I mean he is the closest to a lynch with a lot of people who do not seem like they want to switch their votes. So I think he really needs to do a bit better on the explanations/content level.

That being said I do appreciate his 328 as it does explain his unvote. I too like to trust my gut, but I also like to trust my brain! Ohh that will come back to haunt me... Go to McDonalds.. gut says cheese burger, brain says salad... order half the Menu... jeeze... this is why I go to Taco Bell *rolls eyes*
OTM wrote:As I am rereading, I am feeling less and less good about SensFan. I'm going to vote for either SensFan or Panzer. (Panzer for reasons mentioned in post 273)
I just read 273 and I think your case on Panzer comes down to "Meta reasons, and he has a vendetta against me." Is that correct? Or is there more I missed?

And for Sens we have:

OTM wrote:Ok point 1 was already discussed ad nauseum and he bring it up again, ignoring my explanation. Point 2 just seems like a reach to find possible scumminess. A lot of players vary up their playstyle like that, calling it a possible excuse for later lurking seems pretty odd to me.
Yes you explained the Phate thing. To some that may or may not be enough. And BTW yeah, I don't see that as enough for a vote cause I didn't actually read your original thing as you setting up a vote.

As for the playstyle thing I have seen it used before. I myself as scum have changed my playstyle form day to day depending on the situation. But I have never seen it done in the same day...

And yeah, to say you expect OTM to lurk means you have already made up your mind and are biased here. Only scum can afford to do that.
FoS: Sens

Me I am liking Thanatos less and less... Post 330 seems... um... I don't know... Just a thing I don't see the need for a town to do it... But all it is is a small vibe.

Then we have 331... Used the word kill instead of lynch. Had that stupid attack thrown at me twice before, and in both games I was scum... has to be something in it... Would rather find out info from player A by the death of player B. No... Town should never risk sacrificing someone just to get a read on someone else. Then the "OTM is the scummiest player in the game" seems like your just going with the crowd. I know you have given reasons and stuff before, just hate when people say stuff like that unbacked up.

Standings as of now:

still don't like Phate. Partly Gut, partly a few other things. Most of which can be chalked up to circumstantial evidence, stubbornness, and "playstyle" as dumb as that word is. I'm not really worried about his lynch right now... so... yeah... See no reason to press it.

Not liking the OTM wagon. I see it as scum powered. But to bus or to lynch a town I have yet to figure out. Um I would like to see more real evidence and stronger cases.

OTM himself is pretty suspicious on my list. I don't like his defenses to even some of the weaker cases. I too feel I can learn a lot from his death, but I don't like taking that chance, especially on day 1.

The rest are either partly scummy to me or leaning town. No reason to get into them right now until I have more to run with.
It's not my job to be right, it's my job to be convincing.

well... Beign a Monday time is short on my end... But who knows right...

I would like to hear more from Phate and Panzer on the subject of OTM as they have not seemed to contribute much lately or at least not since the last vote. I hate a bandwagon where we have two active lurkers on it.

Case in point... the last two pages have all been:

Panzer: why is OTM only at 3votes?
Phate: *Worthless emote post*
Phate: Are you just spamming? (I laughed at this one)
Phate: Even you?... (BTW who was this directed at anyways? i cannot see it in Holy's or Kabenon's posts...)
Panzer: Something about play style
Phate: Defends Panzer (Sorta)

So... I don;t see how you guys expect to convince the rest of us with your not doing shit about your case, while at the same time OTM is at least appearing to give his defense... badly most times... but I take badly over none at all anyway.

So yeah... Shot version: Phate is still scum. Panzer good candidate for partner. Bank on it? no... Think about it? Yup...

First than, then sensfan what?

Secondly, I could care less about myself or Kabenon as mine and his votes are not exactly needing in the "reasons or explanations" department ATM. I think yours and Panzer's are.

In fact... I think if you honestly felt OTM scummy *And were town yourself* you would not jsut sit back and ride the wagon. You would actually push a case
constantly
.

Based on this I can safely assume both Zhao and Kabenon are either Town or smart scum. And I can safely think the opposite of yourself and panzer.

As for Sens and Than I have not looked into them yet. Only working on two at a time here...

If I remember correctly Sens doesn't post all that much So a small lack of content is... *shrugs* acceptable..ish...

You, who post at least if not more then myself, damn well better be able to sum up your case in more then 1.5 lines... *coughs* which you can't apparently...

Also...
phate wrote: I don't think it's unreasonable to wtf him. (Yes, wtf is now a verb.)
Are you unable to WTF someone and post content regarding the lynch candidate all in one post? I mean you put so much effort into the so called "Pro-town" plan of yours yet seem so unversed in OTM's lynch.... as of late that is...

And no, I am not saying this plan is not pro-town, I am saying just cause you thought of it does not mean you yourself are pro-town. In fact, it seems a very good way for scum to out the unpowered and thus take the powered out earlier.

So... yeah... Everyone let's lynch Phate instead ok? =D

Hey I know a thing or two about being busy... Doesn't change the fact your playing this bandwagon scummy.

As for the Sens thing what don't you get? You post at least 5+ times more then he does. You should have at least 5+ more then him to say about why OTM should be lynched, yet you don't.

Phate wrote:I already made my case against OTM. I was the first one onto his wagon. He has not adequately responded to my points. If you like, I'll go make it again.
that would be a start, a pointless start but one none the less. I am talking more about he current issues. I believe Zhao made a few cool comments even I could not refute. OTM has made a good 6ish posts in the last two pages. Anything to comment on there? How about new info that could convince the fence sitters? Being first on the wagon means crap. I fact... seeing as how I believe the wagon to be scum run, it makes you even more likely to be scum. Not to mention, if you were the first to vote you damn well should have seen a crap load more than the others on the wagon who followed you.

making one good point against someone is cool. Starting a wagon is cool. Letting the wagon turn into a lynch with no added content is scummy. So the way I see it, I'm trying to help you here. And what do I get? A big "Korlash is a hypocrite" some small text, and no added content what so ever. I hate this OTM wagon. And I will be very sad should he be lynched. Simply because out of everyone on him, only one seems to have any good reasoning at all.
Phate wrote:Here it is again.

1. OTM agrees a lot, without giving reasons of his own.
-Good point. But I think You, Panzer, Sens... maybe even Than can b guilty of this at least once or twice this game too... The mere fact it took you hree posts to outline your case after I said something seems like an ok example of this.

2. OTM's vote seems to shift based on popular opinion.
-i could say a couple people on OTM are "Following popular demand" I don;t even want to know exactly how many of you used the excuse "OTM is the scummiest person in the game" without any backing of your own.

3. His cases on other people are really rather ridiculous. I'd rather not, but if you want me to, I'll expound on this.
- I could say the same about a couple things on OTM... Not to mention I know a thing or two about crap cases.. doesn't prove affiliation at all.

4. He's putting me on top of his trusted list without giving an adequate reason, which just looks like buddying up.
- So. He put me second. This has to be the dumbest attack I have ever seen. I mean, when i think of the players in this game my mid automatically thinks of the loudest first. If I made a list I would probably place you first too. Unless we are talking about a town list. You wouldn't be on that one

5. He moved kabenon straight from suspected to trusted, and still hasn't adequately explained why, in my opinion.
- True. His explanations sucked. Yet I did not see you comment on them. You merely say they sucked. If I am wrong please show me. Until then, stop having your first two points apply to you just as much.

6. As soon as he came under pressure, he started trying to deflect attention to multiple other people in rapid succession.
-Show me. I missed it.

7. I've made all these accusations before, and he hasn't responded adequately enough to convince me that these aren't justified.
-Again... show me where you commented on his comments asking for more clarification. Until then I will assume you are merely "following the crowd" in saying his explanations sucked.

Am I sure he's scum? No. But he's the scummiest in the game right now, and I'd support his lynch.
-Sure. Plug your name in there and I could make the same statement.
Green text
= Me >.-

In short... Good points, no support...

Zhao wrote:Define strawmanning.
Wow... Are you that dense you have to avoid even a simple statement... Look The only person I ever saw you bring up was Phate. That equals one to me. Give me enough to qualify as "A few"

And, Just for S&G:

(taken from the Wiki) "Strawmanning" involves taking a small piece of the case someone has built up that is weaker than their other points and blowing it up. They can then defeat the weaker point and use that as 'proof' that everything that person has said is wrong.

I find it a little hard to think my little question about a few qualifies as strawmanning, especially seeing as how in my mind it was a legit question.

Now... Would you mind please explaining your "A few" to me. Phate is one. One =/= a few.

Zhao wrote:If you want to stop acting pro-town, then I won't bother and just assume you are indeed mafia.
*laughs* Ahhh... Kinda of funny... First you say he answers all your questions, now your implying he is not acting "Pro-Town" can I get some examples of this. Reasons behind this statement. Perhaps evidence you do not already assume he is mafia as that is how it appears.

Ahh man this game is interesting... For all Zhao's yaking I feel he is town. For all OTM"s crappy defenses I still don't like his lynch. Even Phate, the guy who came up with such an obviously pro-town plan ... I still find him the best lynch.

Hmmm... Maybe my read is off this game...

Actually I think this is perfect. I have been looking for a third scum to put into my "theory" and I have never really liked Qb's playing. Hmmm... Him, phate, and Panzer... The more i think about it the less likely it seems. I'll be interested in seeing just how far off I was when this game ends...

But yeah, on a more down to Earth level, QB that's a pretty stupid thing you just did. So I want to hear more form you as to exactly WHY you voted OTM, and I am still waiting to hear more form Panzer.

Zhao wrote:Since you want to slow down the OTM lynch, will you be providing any material that might exonerate him? Or you just all talk?
I don't need to. With at least half the people on the wagon seemingly only having the excuse "I agree with the others and OTM is scummy, Vote: OTM" I really do not see his lynch happening anytime soon. Besides, he's a big boy. he can take scare of himself... i hope...

And does anyone else feel the urge to lynch DP just to shut him up?

I agree with Kabenon. hmmm... I like 007 better... It's easier to type...

Take two...

I agree with James... Dammit! >.> I agree with that guy. Admitting you only skimmed and voted the majority is just plain anti-town. If you honestly think OTM is scum, I think everyone (Directed more at the others and not Phate and Zhao) should give some insight as to why they feel OTM needs to be lynched. In fact, if Pnazer continues to not say anything I will most likely change my vote to him. He did say he would be gone did he?

I have never been mislynched (On this site)... I'm sorry I thought we were sharing things that we stay up at night thinking about, yet don't actually mean anything when you say them out loud.

Or... Try "Things you should never admit to your Girlfriends..." >.> In fact.. a good example of this would be that you do, in fact, have multiple girlfriends... but that... um... is another story that always ends in your... "Lynch!"

Oh come on, laugh... you know it was funny...

Unvote:, Vote:Panzer

In all honesty? Yeah... To be honest, I don't buy it. First off with 5 unpowered what's the probability we have 3 unpowered scum? OTM is third on the QB wagon, which would have actually been a better attack to use due to that whole scum most likely to be third thing. Whether you suck at counting or not, I hate when people say things like "This person needs to be lynched due to all these false reasons."

Then you go and try to defend yourself and Phate's "Lurkishness." Look, everyone is busy as hell. Even I am, contrary to popular belief. All I ask is for you to give me a good solid reason OTM needs to be lynched, that is all the crap you can come up with? Yeah... You need to die.
Zhao wrote:He said lynched not mislynched … intentional Freudian slip?
=D I wish. I have actually been lynched twice on this site, both times as scum. So I hold my "Never been lynched as town" thing pretty highly. And it is so much easier to say "Mislynched" then "Lynched as town."
DP wrote:Korlash, what are you thoughts of his votes under inspection?
Uh... My thoughts include a rubber duckie, half a grilled cheese sandwich, a broken CD, and this song I have had stuck in my head for the past week... do do du dun!

Besides, if QB is a newb he needs to learn to not vote on a whim. Putting someone at L-1 is going to get you heat if you do it stupidly.

Panzer wrote:BTW, Korlash, third and forth are the best the most scum positions on a wagon, you should read up on that again.
Yes, and if I remember correctly 3rd is more likely then 4th. Something about %s. 15% v. 10% I don't know. All I know is that the 3rd had a bigger number next to it.

And yeah... Still does not make up for the fact you presented not only a BS case, but a false BS case.
Panzer wrote:I know we don't have 3 unpowered scum, but I'm saying we do have at least one.
Contradicting to your earlier "What are the chances we even have 3 unpowered town" statement. By claiming it is unlikely to have 3 unpowered town, you are logically saying it is more likely we have 3 unpowered scum. you cannot have it both ways.

Also, thanks to the laws of probability, you are most likely right. But be prepared for the worst, all powered scum. The phrase "We do have at least one" instead of "It is most likely there is at least one" leads me to believe you have first hand knowledge of the scum's roles. Thus, your scum yourself.
Panzer wrote:The guy is a newb, anyone could have called him scummy and turned the tide the guy's way, he has been acting scummy the entire game cause he is new.
Being new does not excuse scummy behavior. End of story. If he does not know how to play he should go do a newbie game. Sorry.

@ Holy: I believe he was just being a sarcastic ass. Or that is how I took it. I would be very interested in seeing him actually try to pass any of those off.

Now we get to phate... *laughs* I wish i was the Sk. Never been one before.

Now let me look at your comments...
Phate wrote:He hasn't connected himself with anyone really, but he's throwing out suspicions of everyone left and right,
So in other words I am operating under the assumption I do not know anyone else's roles. And I'm scum hunting... ok... So your calling me town then? Thanks!
Phate wrote:he's purposefully oblivious to the fact that newbies play differently than more experienced players (and thus what's scummy for a newbie is different than what's scummy for an experienced player),
Sorry, newbie card only applies in newbie games. Last time I checked this is not the Road to Rome thread. I will not be dumb enough to let someone "Less experienced" then the others get away with stupid stuff because "They are new and too dumb to go play a newbie game."

And no. scummy = scummy. Um, some scummy things can be chalked up to newbie mistakes over in the newbie games, yes. But anything at all suspicious needs to be prodded, poked, and photoshopped into discussion.
Phate wrote:and his logic sucks, as is evidenced in the last post.
Well I am the master of Krap Logick you know... So theres no way you can point this onto me as anything what-so-ever. Especially when you cite no examples.

So yeah... Panzer and Phate... I'm liking Panzer a bit more simple for the lack of posting... a lurking scum vs. a semi-lurking scum obviously goes to the lurker.

Phate wrote:Saying "scummy=scummy" is not good scumhunting.
Don't think I'm ignoring all that advice here. Know I read it and know where your coming from. I simply decided nto to quote it all to keep this post semi-short.

However, know that the way I scum hunt is pretty simple. Someone does something I deem "suspicious" and so I jump at them. Newbie or not. Their reaction is all part how I deem affiliations.

take yours for example. You come at me first sentence with "we're not here to lynch scummy players, yadda yadda yadda, here to lynch scum." I take that as you implying I think we should lynch anyone who is scummy. This is untrue.

However, to find scum, you need to push scummy players. *duh* If not, you will have a very hard time finding said scum.

As for Null-tells I think that is crap. Nothing is ever a null-tell. In fact I have a hard time actually finding any type of "tells" town or scum as there is no law saying only one affiliation will ever do anything one way. I admit there are a couple of... lee-ways we can grant new players. But I will not refuse to press major issues just because of experience.

Phate wrote:Korlash, have you heard of spaghetti-slinging? That's where you accuse a lot of people of a lot of different things and generally portray yourself as a town-leading crusader, hoping one of the suspicions sticks in the mind of the rest of the town. That way, no matter who they decide to go with, you can say "I suspected them all along!" It's a tactic characterised by lots of FoSing and vote hopping, or sometimes simply by having a new main suspect every page. This is what I'm accusing you of. It's not a protown tell.
Well I have not been vote hopping. I believe I have only voted two people all game. As for FoS's I do tend to use them sparingly. So accuse all you want that won't stick. As for a new main suspect... I would be hard pressed to be able to call any single person in this game my "main suspect" as I have more or less been pressuring everyone at once. The only "main suspects" here would be yourself, and to a lesser extent Panzer.

You said "Different people act differently when they are scum." While this "Spaghetti-slinging" may in fact be some type of super cool scum plan, I see constant suspicion of everyone, pressing each person's case as hard as you can, and questioning everyone's movements a good way to weed out strong cases, kill weak cases, and keep BS and mis-interpretations to a minimum.

As for suspecting "everyone" I have pretty much made my feelings on you clear all game. While at the same time staying pretty moot on both QB and OTM. Saying both are scummy/suspicious yes, adding to discussion yes, but not taking a stand on either. I can admit that. I can see how you would come to think this "spaghetti" case can apply to me. But to each his own I suppose.
Phate wrote:You wanted an example? This is Krap Logick(tm).
First you cannot (tm) my title. It has been copyrighted, trademarked, and logoed to stand with and for Korlash Inc. only.

Secondly, I see it as a "logical" folly. Panzer said he finds it unlikely to have 3 unpowered town, meaning it is more likely we have 2. 5-3=2. Logically, if we only have 2 unpowered town, then the other 3 must be in the scum group. (Including Sk) so 3 out of the 4 "scum" are unpowered. This is what Panzer implied.

He then goes to say he does not think that all three scum are unpowered, but at least one is. Well... 3 unpowered, 3 scum 1 Sk. means at least 2 MUST be unpowered.

So either he believes there is only 1 unpowered scum, meaning at least 3 unpowered town, or he believes it is more likely more scum are unpowered.

All of this would be meaningless (Even to me I'm afraid) had he not used his first statement to respond someone else's case.

And yes, all this is crap logic. I have been wrong with my crap logic case before, and I have been right a few times too. Not saying this little tid-bit here proves Panzer is scum, far from it actually. The only real scummy thing I have seen him do is not contribute and ride a bandwagon. but as I said before I like to pressure everyone with everything.
It's not my job to be right, it's my job to be convincing.

Oops, did a little mistake in my own crap case. Bad Korlash.
Korlash wrote:So either he believes there is only 1 unpowered scum, meaning at least 3 unpowered town, or he believes it is more likely more scum are unpowered.
is wrong.

Panzer actually said He "knows there is not 3 unpowered scum" not he believes there is only one. My mistake I rememebered incorrectly.

So change the above quote to:
Korlash wrote:So first he says it is unlikely to have three unpowered town, thus there must be at least 3 unpowered scum. Then he says that he "Knows there is not 3 unpowered scum" implying at least 3 unpowered town.
In short, a contradiction. Small, not really meaning anything. But his response (And other's it seems) are very interesting. I'm liking this battle of wits game we are playing here Mr. "I have to look so pro-town." It is a shame you only have a 40 card deck! ha ha ha... Leave it to Korlash for obscure MTG references... ^^

And just so they don;t get the pleasure of rubbing my face in this worthless post, welcome mikeburnfire. Glad to know you and thanks for replacing...

Seriously... Other opinions required. Is the lack of content from Panzer troubling to anyone else? How about Phate? Ideas about him.

What's new with OTM?

And things against/for me, anyone up on that? Info on this spaghetti thing would not hurt.

Just more activity please...

No, you false accused me of something, and left it there after I explained. Only proving you know what BS it is. If you actually believed it you would have said something about my "Defense" even if all it was was "I don't think your defense was good enough."

And woot. You said to tell the truth. Spin-off of "In all honesty." I heard from a reliable source that saying this is a scum tell. I won;t even try to press it until I have proof. So I am very interested to know if you do, in fact, come up scum. If so there may be something to it. To be honest, I think it's crap. But being ol' Krap Logick Korlash I have to say something about it.

And I am waiting to hear other's opinions of Phate and Panzer, along with something reasonable from Panzer himself.

In fact, James, what is your take on Phate? Do you think him a long winded scum trying to hide as a town by coming up with this seemingly "Pro-town" plan? Or, do you feel Panzer's active lurkerness should be llowed to continue? How about myself, what is your take on this so called BS spaghetti crap Phate came up with?

And Mr. Flashy, why Phate over me and QB? What is wrong with me? Why not Panzer or OTM? Don't be all "This talk is useless" while not contributing anything yourself. Getting the game more on track is all and good, but make some kind of effort yourself.

I wouldn't say he has been pushing your bandwagon... Many of the people on it... well... Holy at least, she counts as many to me, are only waiting on you to speak up. Being absent isn't a problem, just some notice woudl be appreciated.

As for buying your vote, naw. Maybe when I am scum and actually know I can use it for my evil plans, but not in this game.

I think your 469 post answered a big question that many of us were thinking about.

On that note... Than... thanks for the speak up but your input is needed! I will be holding you to this "By Friday" thing. Thanks...

And... On that note... I hereby put forth for a vote "Town initiative 3" Which states:

Drunken piper should either stop with his "Words gotta rhyme every time" or he actually adds meaningful, and not so confusing, content.

Flavor is... well... I mean I love flavor! But there is too much of a bad thing you know. I really don't like having one player who has gone through all of day 1 contributing, bad puns aside, crap. Either find a new style that allows you to post more and/or better content, or just plain up and stop this. Town or not your not helping us.

Zhao wrote:BTW, you haven’t talked about your plan for some time, and there was no consensus by everyone not to do it. Have you given up trying to sell it? Don’t tell me it was just some elaborate smokescreen.
Actually it woudl be better to stop talking about it... If all think it a good plan then drop it until the day is almost over.

Zhao wrote:I actually agree with you here. I’ve felt that Korlash has been taking a lot of pot shots at people and not going further. His shifting good cop/bad cop routine against me is annoying and strange. Recently thought he has focused more on just PanzerJager and then you.

He’s said we should slow down on the OTM lynch but didn’t provide any reasoning why OTM could be innocent, nor source anyone else for this. I’m speculating he might be throwing around pro-town statements to make himself more resistant to lynch.
Again, no reason for me to give evidence on him being innocent when no one has any evidence of him being guilty. (at least worth a lynch) And when did I throw around Pro-town statements?

Zhao wrote:I was mocking you Holy, but now that I think of it, you might have made those faulty statements just to get me to react and say statements that could be used against me later.
So... you be an ass to someone, then try to claim it is what that person wanted you to do? Your messed up in the head...
Zhao wrote:Could you be more specific? I would like to know details.
Yet you say nothing to Panzer and very little to Phate. To afraid to talk to your partners? Seriously... if you want details say something to Panzer. He hasn't done anything lately.

I think OTM's wagon went way to fast, and in my experience fast wagons = most likely town.

That combined with the fact I either did not understand the player's reasons for voting him, or I felt their reasons were crap (I really cannot even remember what they were now to be honest XD) really makes me doubt the wagon.

Oh a related note I have not actually found OTM that much Protown either. He does seem to be completely absent fr most of the game, only popping up when needed to give as little content as possible.

because of this I think he could, maybe, be the Sk. But his lack of interest makes me wonder if he is just another unpowered vanilla town. I really do not want to speculate too much into powers right now so I'll leave it at that.

People really don't seem to care about Panzer, and yet he has done almost the same things OTM has done that I feel are actually reason to suspect a player. Mainly the lack of content, dodging type style of play. I would think a couple others would want to help pressure him into talking. (Holidays noted, some "lurkishness" is given to all players I know, but most of what I am saying is from way before hand)

As for Holy's point about how long OTM has been at L-2/L-1 it is kinda a moot point because of the holidays I'm afraid. D:

QB wrote:@Korlash- I get where you're coming from about the OTM wagon being fast. I personally don't feel it was that fast, but then again I'm looking at it from the standpoint of it stretching from the first accusation to the last defense, not from the first vote to the last vote. I personally feel he more likely to be scum based on the fact that it stalled at L-2 and stayed there. To me that feels like the town was lynching scum and his buddies were standing back to see if they should bus him to "prove" themselves or defend him and save one of their own. The fact that as soon as the verbal pressure cooled on him, he dropped his vote on me and threw his weight behind the panzer wagon.
Your argument is flawed, as it is jsut as likely the scum were trying to lynch town and it stalled becuase all three scum were already on the wagon. And would he not throw his weight on another wagon if he was, in fact, town? especially if said wagon is a good one.

I wouldn't say save his own skin... I think If that was the case Panzer would be the more obvious choice.

As for timing I see no real tell there. The massclaim thing has already been discussed a little. So you can't say he has been saving that. And the "Not answering" concept in general requires a bit of time before it becomes meaningful.

He could very well be trying to save his own skin, but I see no reason to believe that this is a more scum then town likelihood here.

Whats with you people and refering to lynches as "kill"? The only "kill" the town ever does is when we get to a deadline and let a lynch happen without a majority of votes. Other then that the only peopel who kill are Sks and scum...

NO! Bad Holy... Bad... go.. sit in the corner... >.> Ok that is a bit harsh.. eat some cake and go play video games! <.<

We have two claimed cops, one is lying. So today;s lynch is of course one of them as one is DEFINITLY scum. As for QB, I am pretty sure he is scum, and Phate wen't ahead and called him scum fro two reasons. A) It makes his claim more believeable as he "attacked" QB right off the bat. And 2) if we lynched QB, turned up scum, we believe phate. So we go ahead and lynch phate, he turns up scum, we then go on to "question" QB. Phate turns up town, I quit mafia forever... Well not forever.. like for 5 minutes.. i will be pretty dang surprised...

I'll practice my surprised face i won't be using... 8O

You guy;s are kidding me right? Jsut becuase QB is scum DOES NOT mean phate is cop. Do not be fooled! As cool as not lynching the cop sounds DO NOT LYNCH ANYONE BUT PHATE!

No real cop would let a lying cop off the hook. Phate is our man today. After that we need to look at QB and Holy... Yeah... even her! ;_;

Also:
phate wrote:I swear, if QB turned up scum after we lynched him I would vote myself and go quietly tomorrow.
I have never heard a cop go if we lynch one scum Ill let you all kill me!" before... interesting... yeah die already...

Oh and one more thing:
If I'm town, QB's scum and Than's town.
Ha ha ha... you and Than cannot both be town... stoopid :P

that was a joke btw... not meant to be insulting....

dang internet...

EBWOP: Also I find it funny you just jump in and assume becuase i'm going after you I'm obviously the last scum blah blah blah... I agree on QB. And should you turn up town (unlikely) I am pretty confident we have Than and QB. Still you kinda killed yourself with your vote switch... sorry man...

I agree the mass claim is unhelpful but we had like 3 people do it for no reason. add to that the 2 who claimed yesterday, and now we have the reopener claimed.

There is no reason to calim anymore as even a sucessful claim does not prove allignment.

I would like Skruffs to advance further on why he voted a non-lynch person instead of on eo fthe two claimed cops though.

Dude logically the role switcher is more then likely scum. I mean killing a mason, then giving a townie the other mason is a duh move.

I give Phate a high chance of being the RB, although he may have another ability and so the third mafia got the RB.

While I know what it is like to replace in, especially during chaos, I think Skruffs is doing a lot more distracting then Mike. (Even if it is unintentional)

I'm liking a phate and QB scum group with a possible third of Holy or Skruffs. I would bet Phate has the switcher or RB with the other ability going to the third member, and I bet QB is the doc but scum oriented. So I am thinking the worse here, a Doc/RB/Switcher scum group.

However one of those abilities may belong to the Sk. And the fourth in there may acually be the sk but I'm not positive.

Now if you are town and currently have one of the above abilities please do not freaking claim... i mean come on... Seriously...

Sens claimed the reopener eh? Sens did you open OTM?
