Is this a oneshot or X-shot ability?

And can you provide links to those games/rolecards?
There's really no Town reason for us to answer that first question, massclaim or not.

As for the second one, have fun.

Not in vi's modded games list, I can hunt it down or you can gimmie a link, either-or.

Saki, do any of your roles hint at them doing something when a character or user dies?

Oh, sorry. It's not a Vi game, it's a game that Vi played in and shows Vi's reactions to SKs and Compulsiveness. Here.

Saki, sweetheart, claiming Coroner shots is much different from I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY ABILITIES DO BUT BTW THEY MIGHT DO SOMETHING OR NOT AND THEY ARE PASSIVE AND ETC. So sit down and keep trying to lynch us. It gives a nice ticklish feeling on our scales.

No, but I see the attitude behind claims as rather contradictory.

re: Saki "OMFG YOU AREN'T FULLCLAIMING OR PROVIDING DECENT ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS REGARDING YOUR CLAIM. I DON'T BELIEVE YOUR CLAIM AT ALL."

re: yourself "I'm not answering stupid questions regarding my claim."

Uh, looking at it from a general perspective, it's not much different.

Tell me what is so "anti-town" about claiming Coroner shots.

I am Yune. The numbers go slower when I'm alive, and I know it's GG if the numbers get too high. Idk how high but ive waited this long until potential lylo because outing myself of that would probobly make me a pretty obvious night kill. Which os also why ive layed low all game. My other ability allowed me to inherit Prohawk's weird bodyguard role as a oneshot when he died. I used it last night to protect morph and jabberwocky last night. If I had saved it would only have let me target one player tomorrow whoch I figured 2 was better then one.

As for my vote
Vote:Jabberwocky

Because not full claiming while there is a vote on you when you think scum might quick hammer isn't very town logic. So full claim NOW!

VOTE: Jabberwocky

Tierce this self-aTe and self-meta is horrible. You're scum and saki isn't. Nacho was wrong, LLD and saki are right.

I mean you're not even trying to get saki to unvote, town tierce would be yelling kicking and screaming.

Soren got lynched. This is really disappointing, because Soren is awesome.

Incidentally, my opinion is that wondercritter is best prepared with rice or noodles - actually like a stir fry. You would cook it, of course, with a Jabberwok.

Mafia Xenologue

Spoiler: Tarhalindur, Satori Komeiji over Mafia, safeclaim Yune, as played by Daemon385
Daemon385's submissions:
1.Something sneaky/manipulative/chaos creating
2.Something Mage like possibly?
3.Something Protective like a tank or healer or something I guess as well
~Daemon385~

Image

Name:
Tarhalindur, Satori Komeiji over Mafia

Source:
Touhou Chireiden ~ Subterranean Animism (TH11)
Class:
Satori
Alignment:
Mafia

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
In the ultimate show of "get off my lawn", you have emerged from Hell - well, okay, it *used* to be Hell, but close enough - to drive a bunch of surface-bound warriors away. The quickest means of doing so involves allying with the Mafia, because they're pretty much guaranteed to be able to kill people at Night and that will get people to GO AWAY faster. Note to all who can behold: Terrifying universe-destroying megalomaniacal nightmare creatures taking the form of three-eyed lolitas need their me time.

Abilities:

Tapestry of Lace and Bullets:
You may communicate with your scumpartners in <this> QuickTopic. You may also perform the factional kill each Night IN ADDITION TO any other action you may care to take.
Asocial:
You may not post in any QuickTopic you are a part of
. Factional communication (the Mafia chat thread in particular) is excepted from this ability.
Mental Tap:
During each Day you may target a player. You will gain access to any QuickTopic they have access to during that Night, provided it is not a factional chat.
Suggest:
During each Day you may target a player. You will open a QuickTopic with that player.
Mind Read:
At the end of each Night you will passively discern the last active ability successfully used by each player you have an open QuickTopic with.
Recollection:
During each Night you may target a player and name an ability in this game (with all appropriate parameters). Provided that ability exists in the game, you may use it as if you had it yourself. One-shot abilities may be used multiple times this way. Use of this ability does not count toward the number of active abilities you are using this Night.
Terrifying Hypnotism:
At the beginning of the game, you may choose whether to make it so that while you are alive in the game, you will cause steadily escalating blue numbers to appear in each mod post similarly to Mafia Behind the Maiden. (The numbers will behave realistically but have no ingame effect.)

Might I suggest this safeclaim?
~Daemon385~

Image

Name:
Yune, Blue Flame of the Medallion
Source:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (FE10)
Class:
Chaos Incarnate
Alignment:
Town

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
You are half of the goddess of dawn, neither holy nor base, neither angel nor devil, but freedom, chaos, transformation, future, and mystery. And, most importantly, stuck in a medallion where your essence burns as a flame seeking to escape. You want the best for humanity... even if humanity doesn't... Hopefully what you can do from where you're at will be enough.

Abilities:

Countdown to Extinction:
You know that the blue numbers in each mod post will steadily count upward as time passes and the body count rises. If it reaches a sufficiently high number, the game will end.
Suppression of the Medallion:
You know that while you are alive, the blue number will increase more slowly.
Silent Witness:
Being a stone implement,
you may not under any circumstances post in a QuickTopic thread.

Fascination with the Glow:
During each Night you may target a player to open a QuickTopic with them.
Blessing of Chaos:
You don't know what this ability does.
(or make something up)

Spoiler: Arvis, as played by Andrius
Andrius' submissions: Bastian, Quan, Arvis
~Andrius~

Image

Name:
Arvis, Emperor of Grannvale
Source:
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War (FE4)
Class:
Emperor
Alignment:
Mafia

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
Formerly the Duke of Velthomer, you are the man who emerged at the top of the food chain following the great upheaval of Sigurd's campaign. While you'd love to be one of the good guys, that's really not in question given your son Julius pulling your strings. Sometimes it just sucks to be born, doesn't it?

Abilities:

Order of Valflame:
You may communicate with your scumpartners in <this> QuickTopic. You may also perform the factional kill each Night IN ADDITION TO any other action you may care to take.
Royal Blood:
This may have ingame significance.
Major Val Blood:
You have overwhelming endurance and can survive a single attempt on your life (other than the lynch).
Minor Loptyr Blood:
Once during the game you may make one of your actions succeed no matter what would otherwise stop it (barring your target's death, obviously).
Invitation:
You may target a player during the Day to Neighborize them for a Night.
Politics Dance:
Your vizier Ida will discern the last person anyone Neighborized with you targeted (i.e. on the previous Night).
Banish:
During each Night you may target another player to shield them from harm, preventing all other abilities from targeting them.

These alterations will help you claim safely:
Name:
Arvis, Duke of Velthomer
Class:
Sage
Alignment:
Town

Bio:
You are one of the youngest of the lordlings of Grannvale. Quiet and moody, you try to live a normal life as well as you can given the politics and intrigue surrounding your position and the kingdom itself. Hopefully you can fight evil as well as you can under the circumstances...
Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.

Spoiler: Noire, as played by morph the cat
morph the cat's submissions: Noire, Ursula, Nephenee
~morph the cat~

Image

Name:
Noire, Hopeless Child of the Future
Source:
Fire Emblem: Awakening (FE13)
Class:
Archer
Alignment:
Mafia

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
You are a poor anemic child who has been caught up in horrible business with evil people. You can't really do much to resist them... Hopefully if you stay aligned with them they won't kill you...

Abilities:

TO THE ABYSS WITH YOU!
You may communicate with your scumpartners in <this> QuickTopic. You may also perform the factional kill each Night IN ADDITION TO any other action you may care to take.
Pendant of Protection:
A gift from your mother. This may have ingame significance.
Can I Go Now?
Once during the game at Night you may Commute away.
Warning Shot:
During each Night you may target a player to redirect their action to you.
Ties That Bind:
You know that
Oil Tycoons
is your mother Tharja. At any time in the game you may permanently Neighborize yourself to her.

These alterations will help you claim safely:
Name:
Noire, Traumatized Child of the Future
Class:
Archer
Alignment:
Town

Bio:
You are one of the heroes from a doomed future. Anemic, cowardly, and absolutely not interested in this whole battle thing, you mostly wish you can stay alive as long as you can.
Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.

Spoiler: Anna, as played by Saki
Saki's submissions: Anna -<thief> - Ashnard
~Saki~

Image

Name:
Anna, Totally Ordinary Merchant
Source:
Fire Emblem: Awakening (FE13)
Class:
Trickster
Alignment:
Town

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
You are a merchant who lurks in the shadows of Ylisstol, stockpiling secret and rare items for the lucky heroes who happen to meet you. Or maybe you're the merchant operating out of Arena Ferox. Or... I give up.

Abilities:

This Sure Beats Gold! ...Wait, No It Doesn't:
You love patronage more than anything else! This might have an ingame effect.
Rift Door:
This might have an ingame effect too.

Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.
Mod note:
This Sure Beats Gold! ...Wait, No It Doesn't:
Any player who targets you and is an unpromoted class becomes a promoted class, with an improved ability. (This is a Master Seal effect, not a Master Crown effect.)
Rift Door:
If you would die, you instead flip as Anna (no alignment) and are replaced. The replacement Anna will not have this ability. The Day continues if lynched.

Promotion Bonuses:
Tharja -> Sorcerer -
Do You Like Darkness?
- You have an additional use for all of your one-shot abilities.
Noire -> Sniper -
Bowfaire
- Once during each Night you may roleblock a player.
Florina -> Falcoknight -
Air Horsie
- You may use your
Horsebird
ability once every phase, not just once per cycle.
Micaiah -> Light Sage -
Heal Staff
- The first use of
Sacrifice
that stops a kill does not trigger
The Weight of the World
.

Scum version:
Name:
Anna, Fickle Goddess of the Random Number Generator
Class:
Merchant
Alignment:
Mafia

Bio:
You are truly the strongest being in existence, a being beyond mortal comprehension. By your cold hand entire campaigns survive or collapse. Today, fortune favors the Mafia team. May the game screen be bathed in the fury and tears of a million RAGEquits, for very little pleases you more than such offerings.

Violence is On Sale Today!

Name:
Florina, Friend of Caelin
Source:
Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (FE7)
Class:
Pegasus Knight
Alignment:
Town

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
You are a pegasus knight of Ilia, in need of training before you can be accepted into one of the country's famed mercenary companies. That said, you're not really cut out to be a mercenary, so you have joined Caelin's military to stay close to your friends in a relatively safe place.

Abilities:

Horsebird:
Once during each Day you may target a player, who you will Neighborize for that Night only.
Androphobia:
Your
Horsebird
ability will fail if you target a male character.

Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.
Scum version:
Name:
Florina, Morph of a Friend of Caelin
Alignment:

Bio:
You are a magic construct built to resemble a pegasus knight of Ilia in need of training before you can be accepted into one of the country's famed mercenary companies. Unfortunately, the person you were modeled after wasn't really cut out to be a mercenary, so as a next-best thing you have infiltrated the Town on more friendly grounds.

Dark Heart:

Spoiler: Gangrel, as played by Natirasha and then Debonair Danny DiPietro
Natirasha's submissions: Gangrel, Noire, Heath
~Natirasha~

Image

Name:
Gangrel, Formerly the Mad King of Plegia
Source:
Fire Emblem: Awakening (FE13)
Class:
Trickster
Alignment:
Town

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
At one time you were the lunatic in charge of a nation of demon worshippers, though you weren't one yourself. Now, you have slipped from "mad" to "emo", a husk of the man who was once feared by thousands. You really just want to burn out in a flare of waste and excess, but unfortunately people seem to like you alive. Ridiculous...

Abilities:

BEG FOR YOUR LIFE!
During any Day before the hammer vote is cast, you may PM the moderator to use this ability. After a lynching vote is cast, the Day will continue for an additional 24 hours. The player with the most votes at the end of the 24 hours will be the Day's lynch.
Exeunt:
Once during the game, you may target a player at Night. You and that player will Commute from the game for the Night. Any action the player you target takes will fail unless it targets either themselves or you, and any (other) action you take that does not target the target of this ability or yourself will fail as well.
To Hell With All Of It:
You don't know what this ability does.

Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.
Mod note:
To Hell With All Of It:
If you are lynched, after your lynch is processed the players will have 24 hours of Day time during which they can lynch someone else.

Scum version:
Name:
Gangrel, Once and Future Mad King of Plegia
Alignment:
Mafia

Bio:
At one time you were the lunatic in charge of a nation of demon worshippers, though you weren't one yourself. Now, you have slipped from "mad" to "emo", a husk of the man who was once feared by thousands. But that's not to say that you don't crave the power and wealth of a king again. Your vindictive nature and penchant for inflicting suffering will serve you well on your return to the high life.

What Say We Kill 'Em All?

Spoiler: Haar, as played by TheIrishPope
TheIrishPope's submissions: Haar, Altena, Roy
~TheIrishPope~

Image

Name:
Haar, Daein's Delivery Man
Source:
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (FE10)
Class:
Dragonmaster
Alignment:
Town

Win Condition:
Standard

Bio:
Formerly a commander in Daein's army under Ashnard, you have now set up a peaceful delivery service and have no desire to wage war. That doesn't make you a fool... quite the opposite, it makes you someone who's doing their part to ensure that everyone lives a long life without any interference from power-hungry nobles. Much like, you'll surely soon find, those trying to take over here.

Abilities:

IGMEOU:
During each Night you may target a player to learn the nature of the ability they used during that Night. (This will not catch factional kills unless it is the only active ability they used.)
Experience Talking:
During each Night you may target a player to receive the text of their (nonfactional) abilities. You may not receive all of them on a given Night due to the below abilities.
Nap Time:
Despite what people may think, your constant napping isn't a sham. You will at times be unable to post, even in QuickTopics. This may interfere with your ability to use or obtain results from any Night actions you may have.
Can Nap Just About Anywhere:
You may nap for at least three real-time Days upon request. During this time you will not be able to post or take action. You can do this to avoid being forced to sleep later.

Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.
Mod Note: Days are 100% long and Nights are 20% long. Within each cycle, Haar needs 40% sleep. Any sleep not taken by the end of the Night transfers to the next Day. IGMEOU takes 20% sleep and Experience Talking takes 15% per ability. If the Day ends with less than 20% left, Haar immediately falls asleep. Otherwise, he is able to use IGMEOU and the lost sleep will be stacked onto the next Day. If he uses Experience Talking he gains information for each 15% he can spend before Night would normally fall, at which time he will sleep for the rest of it. Sleep taken during the Day by Can Nap etc. is worth 2/3 of the battery drain during that time, and sleep taken as carryover from the previous Night is worth half the battery drain during that time.

Scum version:
Name:
Haar, Invincible Badass Eyepatch Warrior
Alignment:
Mafia

Bio:
Formerly a commander in Daein's army under Ashnard, you have now set up a peaceful delivery service and have no desire to wage war. Though that doesn't mean you can't give it a shot if you have to. You don't reckon people have heard of your reputation as an axeman out here, but you'll show 'em soon enough.

Merchant Union:
Scum stuff
The Mafia Kill takes 10% sleep. Haar has a bear of a time staying up late enough to chat, but that's not my problem.

Abilities:

Noble Blood:
This may have ingame significance.
Hope Will Never Die:
Upon your death, you may set up a QuickTopic with another player and give them your vote, both of which last until the end of the next Day.
I
Say When It Ends!
You may do one of the following once during the game.
*Passively, if you would be killed at Night, you will be informed of as much, and will die at the end of the next Day.
*Passively, if you are brought to lynch, you will need one more vote to lynch that Day.
*Actively, if there is at most 10% battery power left, you may tap this ability to make your vote count for five.

During each Night you may target up to (# of living players/5, rounded up) players. If any of these players are due to be killed during that Night, you will automatically use Sacrifice on them and be told as much. (If multiple players are due to be killed, you will Sacrifice for the first one that appears on your list, so order matters.)
Sacrifice:
Once during each phase, you may pour your life's essence into another player. If they would die that phase, they will instead not. If this would cause a lynch to be stopped, the game will go to Night with no lynch.
The Weight of the World:
After using Sacrifice to stop a kill, you will no longer be able to use Sacrifice and the next action that targets you will kill you.

Please confirm by replying to this message with your alignment. I wish you the best of luck.
There is no scum version of this role in my setup notes.

Right. This setup.

I pretty much always start my mod commentary by apologizing for the sheer awfulness of the setup and its moderation. This will not be an exception. The UPick concept is about showing off a mod's ability to put together a setup about anything in a short amount of time. I, on the other hand, thrive on being a total paranoiac and making sure that the setup is as solid as I can get it given my own ability to understand it. It shouldn't surprise you, then, that I began finding several hilarious ways that this setup could go wrong - and not just in the "lol overpowered" sense, but the "this can screw a faction over" sense - within hours of the game beginning. To give you one example, had the scum decided to quicklynch Saki on the last Day, the lynch would not have been processed, the vote count would have reset, and all three scum would have had to give some very compelling (or amusing) explanations for that sudden surge of votes. So simply put, the setup was garbage. Almost all of my setups are experimental in some way or another, and this is an experiment I will gladly not repeat.

I would like to apologize to all the people who got mystery abilities in this game in particular. I was worried that the abilities could be "gamed" if the players knew about them (particularly Saki's Rift Door). In retrospect, that was just a really bad design choice, I should feel bad, and I do feel bad.

Luckily, the play in this game was also garbage, to be quite honest. The complexity of the roles was beyond several players, and there were at least three instances of players just not sending in actions. I don't think anyone noticed. The scum didn't realize until Night 3 (or in one person's case, a few hours into Night 4) that they could kill and take another action at the same time, because reading Role PMs just isn't in vogue right now. The Day 1 lynch was a quicklynch, the Day 2 lynch was a self-hammer, the Day 3 lynch had two scum votes parked on ProHawk from one player, and the Day 4 lynch featured early voting in LyLo. Daemon and Andrius won by not really doing a whole lot during the Day phases, which is fairly enviable - it means that the Townies who got lynched were too suspicious to let live just through their normal play.

Were it not for Lady Lambdadelta calling for a Jabberwock lynch D4 I'd call her Town MVP, as she was crying tears of Catsandra all D3 if memory serves. As it stands I'm conflicted.

Andrius screwed up his fakeclaim. He got the correct localized name Lewyn, but missed Forseti. Clearly I should have been playing this game.~

The reason the game went to Night at the end was because Purpkin had the ability to control morph the cat's vote. If Purpkin wasn't killed, they could actually lynch scum Day 5. Of course, there was no way that Purpkin could have been protected from kills at that point, and the game would have been a scum win anyway, but it still would have been an amusing reversal - more so if the scum had lobbed their kill at Saki so Day 5 would have opened with six players and a replacement in Saki's slot.

---

Some notes on the submissions I got--
*Tharja was the only person I could come up with for Purpkin's "sassy Battle Mage" request. If they were actually talking about Battle Mage the scummer, then I don't even know.
*Daemon's role and ProHawk's roles were the only two that I designed after rolling alignments. I had
no
idea what to do with Daemon's role, but he was pretty much getting the
Tarhalindur
role simply because he didn't have any specific requests. Luckily he drew scum.
*Tharja's Machomaker ability was pretty much intended for in case they drew scum.
*TheIrishPope's submissions are hereby voted Most Boring. I think I overcompensated with that crazy Sleep mechanic though.
*There was no way Oil Tycoons was getting any other role after requesting both Marth and Lucina.
*LLD literally requested the original Boring-Ass Vanilla Cat, which made my day. (meow)
*Two people went for Noire! Barring DTMaster's second line of submissions, that was the only duplication. Noire wasn't the person I would have expected to be asked for twice...
*No one requested
Tarhalindur
. No one requested any of the literal gods in the series. I am disappointed by this.

Some special shout-outs for this game, and I know doing this is gauche but I was rather upset when I typed this:
*Sakura Hana! Your reveal didn't say anything about your abilities, so you were breaking site rules by putting them on your wiki! This was only noticed at the beginning of Night 4 when it wouldn't have made a difference, so there isn't much to do about it now, but in the future, please attempt to use common sense.
*Cabd! Just because I don't answer a question within two minutes, it doesn't mean that I'm ignoring you! And if I am ignoring you, it's probably because you're either asking me questions you know I'm unwilling to answer or trying to provoke me about how I don't want to answer your questions! And when you say "so uh no fast forward"
three minutes
after I say that I've received your Night 4 actions because I haven't posted a final scene by then, it makes me want to come out in public and tell everyone what an awful person you are!
*DTMaster! I really don't care if you're at a meet - the game keeps going! You came up for replacement three damn times in this game and told me you were going to keep playing the first two times! I've had someone over all week and I've kept up with the game. What the hell.

So tl;dr this is a game that's getting stuffed in a dark corner of my memory and hopefully won't be remembered.

---

As a result of this game, I'd like to make the following changes to my modding procedures.
1) All actions must be sent via PM to create a "paper trail". Actions taken by IM will not be accepted.
2) Any questions or comments about the game will be uniformly answered with "Child, please". "Please" may be italicized if deemed necessary.
3) If any meets are coming up and any of my players are going to be at the meet, I'm going to grill them hard about whether they'll be able to keep the commitment.

Other than eventually getting the ehobanowoof sequel off the ground, I don't really have any Large Themes in mind atm. There are two games that will be modded by everyone's favorite puppy hydra that are in the dreaming-up stages, but as far as I'm aware there won't be a new game coming out soon.

I would like to thank everyone who stuck the game out to the end, and especially DDD and CES for stepping into some really awkward positions (and doing it so well that they immediately got NKd). It's through your support that I can continue to mod games with any success.

If anyone wants me to post more FE images that I grabbed for this game, do say so.

Telling players that their
DAY

NIGHT
action before it matters is also overrated.

As long as I was consistent in usage (old names best names) I thought I'd be fine. But since FE13 is sooooo popular I figured I'd drop it. Again, olde names op.

Seriously though, the Role PMs were awesome and I just sat there DREAMING of all the different MAJOR/MINOR HOLY BLOODS that the game might have. Alvis made being scum awesome, and my team was pretty damn cool too. Daemon did surprisingly well and I'm glad to be a part of his first scumwin. Cabd is awesome as we all know and while he and I maaaay have broken F5 keys in excitement it was awesome being buddies with them.

DDD, there really wasn't a better kill and you were the biggest threat. :/
CES, I wanted you solely out of fear. DDD was simmering down, but I was afraid of what you would do to me, especially after Strategy Mafia.

IM SORRY NACHOLOVE
WE COULD HAVE HAD IT ALL

Oh and finally: Sorry TIP. I honestly didn't see that you were at L-1 and just voted willy-nilly. ^^;

Fuck, I would have so requested Tarhalindur if I knew I could request him.

Don't give up on UPick, Vi! You just need a little more bravado when designing setups like this! Also, /prein for ehobonowoof 2.

Shame I had to replace out, but so it goes sometimes. @_@

<3 Cabd. Noire is best daughter.

I kinda knew the game was over as soon as LLD and Jabberwock were going at each other's throats from day three :( Thankfully, replacing out means I don't have to count this game towards my statistics.
Natirasha is just a vestige, it's Contessa now.
