I don't think I had decided to believe the claim when I asked the question. When I asked if people thought there could be a RB and that the town could have the game in the bag, I thought I made it clear that it was on the condition that everyone had claimed truthfully (ie, you and k7).

I'm not sure what about that quote you're referring to.

I was probing around. I was already thought you were town at the time so felt no great reason to doubt your claim. All this means is that I didn't necessarily disbelieve it, which is different from outright denying it or accepting it.

If I was going to bring the idea of two hiders hiding with each other, I'd want to be sure you claimed truthfully. Adel didn't reply to my question in a pm, I got my answer when everyone else did - in thread, so I was still thinking about possibilities after I asked her about it.

I don't think there's a discrepancy here.

With 4 alive, no-lynch was probably the best move. If Korts wasn't a roleblocker, then the hiders could hide behind each other and escape a NK like cross-protecting doctors. Korts did a heck of a job replacing in for the heavily suspected Battle MageII.

It was amazing to me that so many of the scum got replaced in this game. Lynch-all-lurkers would have helped the town in this game. Camn nearly won the game for the town, but died before he could clear anyone for the rest of the town.

2 hiders living only to be end gamed is a little amazing to me.

The last minute activity easily could have led to a town victory, if the deadline hadn't fallen.

Eh. Good game.

It's never nice to be lynched as town, but at least I had fun on the way.

camn, I think you did really well to catch ckd, but your tunnel-vision on me did nothing to help the town. Otherwise I think you were a pretty good player in this game and asked a lot of the right questions and made a lot of good calls. I noticed a Tracker breadcrumb in Day 1. Maybe if I'd seen that I would have backed off on the k7 thing earlier.

pop, thanks for giving some thought at the end there. It's a disappointing outcome, but I appreciate you putting in an effort to check my claims out.

k7, same to you. Sorry about jumping at you Day 5, but it really looked like you were scum to me and like I said, I had no reason to think you had to be town.

Adel, thanks for the setup! I was disappointed when I died night 0, but it was probably a good thing. I was in too many games and would have sucked here. I thought about that, but figured a roleblocker would block and kill one of the hiders, probably killing the other in the process. I considered suggesting no lynching and letting scum decide who was going to do what, but felt I was too deep in things for anyone to follow along with it.

Tajo, don't worry about it. If we'd used our time better things might have ended different. I enjoyed the game, though, so it's all good.

what did you guys think of the possible roles? Did the semi-open format help you focus on the game? I wrote the set up when there were quite a few games starting with experience pre-reqs, so I went for something that would make it a little easier for new players.

Possible Roles

All roles that appear in the game are from this list. Not every role in this list is used in the game.



Compulsive Vig You are a Vigilante. You are frustrated with the ineffective procedures of the town, really frustrated. Each night you may PM me the name of one player, and you will take out your frustrations by placing several bullets in the head of that player. If you do not send me the name of a player by that night’s deadline you will kill a random player instead. Other roles might interfere with your killing ability; you will not be notified if this happens.

You win if only town-aligned players are alive at the end of the game.

Cop You are a Cop. By breaking police procedures and violating a person’s right to privacy, you can tell the difference between scum and town. Each night you may PM me the name of one player and I will tell you if that player is innocent or guilty of being scum. If your action is blocked you will recieve no response.

You win if only town-aligned players are alive at the end of the game.

Doctor You are a Doctor, dedicated to saving lives. If you PM me the name of one player before that night’s deadline that player will be protected from
one
night kill for the entire period of night. You can not protect yourself. You will not be informed if your action is blocked.

You win if only town-aligned players are alive at the end of the game.

Hider You are a Hider. You know that the town is a very unsafe place at night. Seriously though, I probably had a much easier job than you guys did. I mean, I just had to survive this day and get a mislynch. Props to des for being on my tail all through the second half of the game! I couldn't really answer your accusations of backtracking, because that's what I had been doing exactly...

pop, you were awesome, too, I mean, if I was town, I'd definitely have followed you. You make convincing cases. Also, your play was pretty much flawless until the last mislynch.

k7, I think this was the most I've seen from you in a single game, and I'm glad I did see so much of you. You made a lot of sense. I feel that you could've been the turning stone of the endgame if des wasn't sure to be deadline-lynched.

The thing that probably lost this game for town was that you all came into Day 6 with preconceptions, misconceptions, or something. All I had to do was manipulate those subtly enough that I don't look scum. I probably could've helped a little if I'd replaced town, at least I'd like to think that...

Adel, thanks for hosting this game, and thanks for letting me replace. This is the most fun I've had in an endgame, seriously. Also, the setup was brilliant, although I shouldn't be the judge of that. Everything concerning modding was flawless. Thank you.

Korts, your play was excellent given the conditions. I don't think you should sell yourself short. Tajo's vote on me, which allowed you to make me the deadline lynch, was pretty much a direct result of your play.


I liked the setup. It's not semi-open or even just open. It's more like super-open or something. I like the idea of knowing which roles will be in the game but not how many of each. It helps direct setup speculation, giving it some limits to make it more worthwhile, while keeping the game far from being easily broken.

Why didn't you require players to confirm?

I generally prefer night start games to day start games because they get rid of much of the randomness of the random voting stage. Eliminate the ugly.
Why'd you call this game "Nice Shot!"?
I thought there was a good chance that if the mafia won it would be largely due to killing a hider who hid behind another townie who was nk'd. I expected the game to hinge on a "nice shot". That was all I wanted for flavor.

No, i prob would have considerd BM waaaaaaaaay before 5 mins before the deadline :( BM's meta screwed me over i thought there was no way he would replace out when so close to victory.

Damnit i was at work reading on my cell and Des had convinced me to switch to korts but i cant exactly do big posts on the cell and quoting and bold codes are a bitch, thats why i asked for a extension. oh well good game guys, me and pop almost made it 2 for 2 as winning town in a matter of 2 days.

I liked the set up alot ADel i could easily see how a mass claim early in the game could have been Fatal for townies. Throwing in 2 Mafia Rb's was a nice touch also.

Heh. I know I wasn't in this game, but I followed a long with it a bit anyway because I was planning on replacing springlullaby but then looked at her posts and thought she was scum so I said "Naaaaaah, that's okay. I wanna replace town". Then she got NK-ed as scum lol.

Adel, I really liked the semi-open set-up. I think I might try a semi-open set-up in a future game I mod because of the benefits that you pointed out.
