Okay, one more thing that I forgot to mention before: I'm more active here because I actually have something to say. Other than the VERY occasional query as to where everyone is, my posts have been full of logic and data. I have shared all my spreadsheets. I have even not assumed myself innocent in said spreadsheets so they'd be useful for everyone.
In other games I am less active because there's less logic and more instinct, and for my instinct to take hold properly I have to be reasonably quiet.
So, that is my best attempt at explaining away my different playing style here. Take it or leave it.Two smallish lynch mobs formed up, but, feeling rather apathetic about the whole thing, just went home. --SpicyJ, in Mafia4, on the Brunchma board-

Could someone post a summary of everyone's investigative results? Since the transfer over to this new board it has left old post poorly formatted to say the least. I would appreciate it.
MiriYami: I probably refered to you as male, it's an assumtion I make with any unknown game player unless their nick is obviously female. I game up on females playing games a long time ago. My apologies. Also, Mikegoo and I had a little chat in RL about math, it was obviously all about this game but I don't think we actually discussed anything that one of us didn't post on the board. I look at permutaions of the whole town, you guys are looking at combinations of mafia. I like the permutations because it gives a better probability of mafianess. For example, you list 3 possible combinations of mafia where I am mafia in two of them. That may look like I'm 66% likely to be mafia, but that may not be the case.
Again, I would ask for a summary of investigations so I can grind the permutations and see what the town is looking at. IDOassume Mikegoo is innocent, but that is all.

Okay, is *anyone* still playing here? Did night come and no one told me? It's been 48 hours since anyone posted anything game-related! Is there anything else to say? I feel that there must be a way to determine for sure who is guilty and who isn't, depending on which scenario is correct.
I would also like to add that I have been following the unlikelies (with Mikegoo as mafia) for the sake of completeness, and even with those present (the two still left) I *still* get IS as mafia.
Does anyone else have anything to say?
I hope so.Two smallish lynch mobs formed up, but, feeling rather apathetic about the whole thing, just went home. --SpicyJ, in Mafia4, on the Brunchma board-

One of you has received incorrect results for Night 3. I've sent them the correct result, but I'm not going to tell you who it is, since it will confirm that player's innocence.
If you have a better idea of what to do in this situation, you can post it in DP's thread.Last edited by mole on Sat May 18, 2002 10:31 pm, edited 1 time in total.mole is now sleeping with the fishes.-

Thanks for telling us mole, I hope I didn't overwrite my spreadsheet from night 2. So who got incorrect results? If one person comes forward we can confirm their innocence. If two come forward then we know one of them is Mafia (which probably won't help too much at this stage.) I have not received any email indicating I got wrong results. And to whomever asked, I have confirmed myself as paranoid because I got both Sofis and IS as guilty.-

I was told on night 3 that groza528 was not guilty. I should have been told that he was guilty.
So, all of the results we have come at so far mean squat. It also means that I am not useful after all. It also means that we have ONE person claiming to be useful. The rest of us magically seem to be totally useless.
I have known for a couple of days that my results were wrong. While waiting for mole to decide what to do, I have thought about the consequences of this and how it would affect the game. It seems unfair to be using this to our advantage - on the other hand, we know less now than we thought we did, so maybe it is balancing the scales. In hindsight - thanks for forcing us to reveal our results - the game could have been lost this round if this had not been discovered.
*wanders off to re-do spreadsheets*-

*hopes this means that at least some of those FOSes will be pointed in another direction*
Hey, Okay, based on the new data, in some of the possible result sets, we've already managed to get *all* our useful cops killed off. Which sucks.
But in some of them, we still have one useful person.
Here are the result sets:(Oh, note, I am putting the last line in for completeness; right now, I have no reason to suspect poki, especially based on the incorrect result.)Code: Select all
1 maf maf nai nai para maf ins sane p/i sane p/i 2 para maf maf maf para nai nai sane ins sane ins 3 maf maf maf n/i para n/i nai p/s p/i p/s p/i 4 para maf nai maf para maf n/i p/s p/i p/s p/i 5 maf maf nai maf para ins nai p/s p/i p/s p/i 6 para maf maf nai para maf nai p/s p/i p/s p/i 7 para maf nai n/s maf maf n/i p/s p/i p/s p/i
Based on that...I'll do my analysis again and post in a bit.Two smallish lynch mobs formed up, but, feeling rather apathetic about the whole thing, just went home. --SpicyJ, in Mafia4, on the Brunchma board-

Yea, the mistake is that you listed me as mafia in all the results. I am apalled as well as offended.
MikeGoo is guilty, I am a sane cop. You will lose the game if you lynch me now. I got Cubie innocent, so MikeGoo must be guilty. Stop wasting time, lynch MikeGoo.

I think I will go back some time and count all the votes for mikegoo...they will all be from IS, but I'm still curious to see how many they are.
Am I the only one that assumes the town can assume IS is guilty and Mikegoo is not? Prolly we can assume poki is innocent too. Miri, how can I possibly be insane?
I need to call mike and make sure he has the address for then new mafiascum site.

Sketch: That's what I'd meant when I said I'd found an error. On second examination, I'd found more than one error and am working on redoing my whole table.
No results yet; I've had other stuff to do too (like homework). Two smallish lynch mobs formed up, but, feeling rather apathetic about the whole thing, just went home. --SpicyJ, in Mafia4, on the Brunchma board-

Well, if you're not a member of the mafia (or another group of people),Anonymous, then you're not allowed to talk with others outside the thread. If you are in the mafia or another thing like that, you can talk amongst yourselves, but only during the night. It's usually not a good idea, anyway, unless you're absolutely sure the person you are talking to is innocent.mole is now sleeping with the fishes.-
