FINAL TWO: RESPONSES
Pie_is_good wrote:Elias:
The "don't trust Skruffs messages" came from Skruffs' actions in-game, not pregame. I'm not asking for your collective votes because I stabbed any less than Skruffs - we stabbed the same people at the same time. I'm asking for your vote because I went about the stabbing without arousing as much suspicion as Skruffs. To directly answer your question: The fact that Skruffs and I betrayed the same people at the same times makes that issue a wash. Therefore, I hope to win votes by convincing people I played a better game than Skruffs - nothing to do with who we betrayed.
To clarify the rest:
I certainly did set myself up with the opportunity to stab you - self-preservation was the reason I took it. Skruffs and PBuG were already on one side of the balance, and you and Eteo were on the other. Skruffs and PBuG wanted me to vote with them - I was the only undecided voter in that equation, and I certainly did NOT pressure anybody to vote either way. I then decided that an Elias/Eteo/Pie final 3 would screw me over, so, because of self-preservation, I flipped.
This game, I promised final 2 to Eteocles, Elias, PBuG, and Skruffs. I promised it to Eteocles because, had I voted PBuG out at the final 5, I would have taken him to the final 2. Elias initially offered me the final 2, which I accepted (because turning it down would paint a big red target on my back). PBuG, at the request of Elias - Elias wanted to make sure PBuG didn't do anything crazy, so I obliged him. And Skruffs, because I was planning to take him to the final 2 when I voted Elias out at the final 5.
Bethelmark:
Skruffs has dealt with more difficult situations than I have. A fine example of this was at the final three, when he was forced to choose between myself and PBuG. Of course, PBuG creams him in the final two, but by stabbing PBuG, he loses votes. Dropping the immunity necklace was genius - it allowed him to get to the final two anyways, but it forced me to stab PBuG. Skruffs played excellently in situations like these.
I set myself up better than Skruffs did this game. At the final five, I was a swing vote - I had final 3madeno matter who I voted for. Skruffs, on the other hand, was riding a 50/50 chance of death and survival (along with Elias). Skruffs survived this TC by chance (and Elias was voted out by chance), whereas I was guarenteed to make it through. I never had to take that risk.
Cubs:
Ronald Reagan was this country's greatest president.
The job of a president is twofold: To keep the American People united, and to provide for their legal and economic desires. As for the first one, Republican leaders today still aspire to "restore the Reagan dynasty" - his reign is widely accepted as a positive influence on America. It marked a time when the people were united behind their country and its politics, and that sense of unity is exactly what a president is elected to create.
Secondly, Reagan revolutionized the economic system in ways that are still used today. He correctly executed the tax system and found a win/win situation that helped the government and made the people happier. The ideas his administration implimented were practical, original, and are still widely used today.
Thirdly, Cubs is a republican, and I'd be an idiot if I didn't pick a GOP president.
Eteocles:
I don't know about you, but I remembered to consult my local horoscope for guidance before each challenge.
IH:
[no questions for Pie]
PBuG:
You and Eteocles deserved it. PBuG, you worked for your life in the game every step of the way - you kicked off this game with the floundering Cubs alliance, which wound up dying through no fault of your own. You managed to escape the wreckage and work your way back into final 3, where you had a pretty decent chance at making final 2 that just didn't work out.
Eteocles built up the right connections early on - Eteo sat in a position of power as Elias's left-hand man, yet Eteocles himself wasn't as much of a target as Elias was (of course, Elias won immunities, so Eteo took heat anyways. But he set himself up correctly). At the final 4, he made the right moves to try and stay alive (including threatening me all over the place), and regardless of whether or not he intended to stay true to those threats, they were undoubtably the correct ones to make.
Also, to butt in on Skruffs's comments, I think the Cubs TC was:
Cubs: Pie, Elias, Eteocles
PBuG: Skruffs, Cubs
Eteocles: PBuG, IH
...Elias told me he had threatened Cubs into voting PBuG.
Bird111:
Alliance structure:
Elias-Eteocles-Pie-Skruffs, Cubs-IH-PBuG-Pie-Skruffs, you and Jules on the outside.-

FINAL TWO: RESPONSES
Eteocles - You almost did win the element one, and that had me very nervous. It would have been better if you had, though.Skruffs wrote:Elias - I did use you. Cubs was sure that the five person alliance was going to win that he kind of ignored everyone else. Remember the tauntings in scum chat? THat was because he didn't care about everyone else in the game. I had to go in after him and smooth down things. One of the best ways to keep your alliance strong, is to form a secondary alliance. It keeps the people you intend to vote out happy, content, and less suspicious if they feel secure in the game. and you were secure - for a while.
In the end, after I had talked to you (a few times) about how I Would rather have voted out Eteo over you - it came down to you or PBug. I had to choose between the two of you, and it had to come down to emotions or strategy. In that case, I had to use strategy to guide me. You may be confident that you would have voted out Eteo, but from the talks we had, I had no such reassurances.
Bethelmark -
Reasons to vote pie over me : Pie is good, first of all. HE's also newer to the game than I am, and would get a greater sense of accompolishment from winning, personally, than I would. He played a brutal game and didn't falter in makign the kinds of decisions that had to be made for him to get to final two. He is also loyal in the most important way - me and him planned this whole thing together and in the end he decided to remain true to his cohort in crime rather than ditching me and winning the cheers of the other vanquished contestants. It would have been very easy, and v ery tempting, for him to take PBuG to final two instead of me, because he would know that PBug really didn't 'do' anything in the game until final five. (No offense meant PBug).
As for reasons to vote me over him: Well, I didn't vote for you.
Cubsfan:
I only hate one person in the world, and they don't play scum chat. But if it will mamke you happy, I will thumb my nose at everyone in this game.
Bethelmark, Bird1111, Jules, IH - Given that nobody seemed to have talked with you much, if at all, before you were kicked out, I Would say that you should get off your butt and get involved. Apathy ruins a mafia game and devours a survivor game. It's about survival of the fittest, and that means risk.
Cubsfan - You have absolutely no sense of security. You have an amazing sense of strategy but you wasted it almost entirely on people that you could have been building ties to. By week two, you had no chance of winning final two. You blatantly advertised about your alliance in scumchat. You spent all your time tryign to outguess me or something, and kept pushing bot helias and me about our ties, so that I could no longer try to defend you to anyone. You got voted out because you basically insisted on it. Think about how you treated Elias - are you surprised that he decided to go after you that week?
IH - You were way too quick to defer to Cubs to make your choices for you. You also didn't seem interested in engaging other contestants. You have agreat peresonality and I did not see it at all in this game. Maybe you just weren't interested. I was hoping you would help stir things up, but you seemed too complacent.
Elias - You have Shea for a brother, and that's mean enough. Seriously though, out of everyone in the game, I would probably have voted for you to win if you had made it to final two. You made a lot of mistakes but you were, in my opinion, the epitomy of a survivor player. You saw challenges and you scrambled to over come them. You saw an alliance and tried to build anotehr one to defeat it. I would say to be less naive in the future, but that's kind of like a slap in the face. THere's nothing wrong with being naive. If you want to do further than you have to develop a rhythm for hte game. Find out how the game is working, and take it one step further, and do that. Then see what happens, and take THAT one step further.
Eteocles - We didn't talk until after Elias had been eliminated. And you tried - and I told you that if you got pbug to vote pie, I would too. But I knew pbug wouldn't. But you tried something very tricky, you told me that pbug would. You are very conniving, and I think that is good. Unfortunately, you had already tried that one time before, and so, I didn't fall for it quite as much the second time. IF you want to get further, talk with more people than who you are allied too.
Pbug - You are a darling but it was too little too late. You should have seen when elias and eteocles both said that htey had a final two with Pie, that his alliance was meaningless. You should have teamed up with them at final five and kicked out pie. But you didn't. You trusted him, I guess, just like you originally trusted Cubs, and it bit you on the ass. You got used maybe more than anyone else, because you were promised to be spared if you voted out your own alliance mates, and you believed it. SOrry.
Pie - Aww, I can't say anything bad about you. ^.^ Besides, you can't vote yourself anyways. Nyagh.
Skruffs - You almost fell for the ole Final Five curse, again, but unfortunately, for everyone else, anyways, you rose from the ashes of yoru own elimination to rule over hte game. You unfortunately tied yourself too close to people and that's going to bite you ni the ass. You weren't as beligerant about pwnign peopel as pie was, which is what makes your betrayals harder to deal with.
IH - Elias talks a lot of crap. I was allied with him for al ong time before I revealed I Was also in the other alliance. He probably did not realize that there was a five person alliance chewing at the bit to vote him out week two. That was very hard to manage.
PBUg- like I said in my post when blackberry made me write it at midnight on a day when I was extremely sick, ,I wasn't going to remember everything. I said that. I had to remember the entire game, from way back in APril, and I couldn't get some of the facts. Pie definitely manipulated you more than I did; I thought you were tight with Cubs, not Pie, until around the time he said that you should be spared instead of IH. THe original plan was to keep IH around since he didn't seem to have any interest in the game, but when pie said he had you in his pocket, it became a matter of you being safer to keep around than IH.
Answer to your questions :
Elias and Cubs should probably be in final two. THey both made the most commottion, made the strongest attempts at alliance forming, and had no issues in talking to other people. Again, this is survivor, not couch potato. Energy = Win. I believe that reaching out to Elias and Eteocles gave me the biggest chance of getting to final two - like you yourself said and as cubs/ih have confirmed, after final five, I was a goner. So I had to fight my own way to final two. This involved using alliances that I knew about to destroy other alliances while giving people the impression that they themselves had the upper hand. ANd it worked.
bid1111 - I brought it into the game as the equivalent of 'day 1 random vote'. It gave me a good reason to rally people for a week one or week two ousting, and it worked. I really have no problem with you or your involvement in any other games, but if people see two people mad at each other (me with you at first, and then cubs and elias later on), they become target that other people can side behind. I do like you.

-

FINAL TWO: CLOSING STATEMENTS
Pie_is_good wrote:Gentlemen of the Jury,
Many of your minds are already made up, I imagine, so I'll be brief. There are two factors that people usually base their jury votes on, so I will adress these two factors.
The first of these factors is personal relations - how many people someone backstabbed, whether they told the truth or lied, etc. Skruffs and I are identical in this area. We plotted the stabbings together, we lied to the same people at the same times, we told the same stories to the same people. Neither of us can be held more accountable than the other in this area.
The place where we diverge is in how we "played the game." Obviously, we both made it to the final two, which leaves the question - how much of it was luck and how much of it was skill? Skruffs took more luck to get here than I did. At the final 5, Skruffs had a very, very good chance of getting screwed over. I didn't. If any of our two alliances wanted to try something crazy, they would have booted Skruffs, not me. Skruffs was in danger. I wasn't.
Your job is to vote for the person who played the better game. Each of you will interpret that phrase a bit differently, but in any case: The only imbalance in our play is in my favor. This is why I played the better game.
Best of luck to Skruffs, Thanks for the work to our lovely Mod, Thanks all for a great game of Survivor.
PieSkruffs wrote:Closing statement : My ferret is the only surviving ferret. The immunity necklace has been discarded as a gift in the graves of the other ferrets. If I win or lose now, it doesn't matter, because I played a very strong, very good game, and, more importantly, I managed to survive the mistakes I made. I'm not a good guy or a bad guy, I'm just a skruffs, and I gave everything I could to help mamke this an interesting experience for everyone involved.

To clarify a couple things:
As much as I liked Elias, I trusted Pie a lot more at first becuase of our Final 2 deal and because he was the first to contact me. I did doubt him nearer to the end and my suspicions were confirmed after Elias got voted out.
Reasons for me being quiet:
1.) Part of it was strategy
2.) Part of it was life/internet issues
3.) Part of it was becuase I thought I was in a pretty solid alliance.
Mostly 2 & 3 >.<
Congrats to Skruffs and Pie, you both deserved to be in the final 2. (Even though you are both bastards). You played all of us and had most of us going the whole time.
Oh, and about the loyalty thing... I tried to get you voted out TC6 (The one where Elias went). Heh. I think by then you were considered a traitor. I couldn't get Elias's vote though.AddyMuyo: lesbians love their dogs
