I did accompany my vote with a reason. Over-reacting to sarcasm in such a way that he ended the random vote phase early, before everyone had even gotten their random vote in. In my opinion, that's worth a vote to see how he reacts. If he continues to overreact in this game, well, there you have it. It's not my fault you can't read minds.PokerFace: "I need to play with [Ether] or Mizzy more often."
Nightson: "I'd be more then happy to play with Ether and Mizzy. At the same time."
Muerrto: "Mizzy is my hero and I wanna be like her when I grow younger <3"-

Oh goody, short to non-existant RVS, just the way I like it.
@moose: Your math is off, he's 25 % as town. Also, the sample size is too small to say anything reliably. Do you like policy lynches in general?
@Rabies: Do you think charter's posts were scummy?
@jimfinn: Do you think charter's posts were scummy?
Vote: jimfinn.Why so serious?-

Ok, I came in here expecting my persona for this game to be third person but gave up halfway through my first post.
I try and adopt a different persona for every game just for fun but I've decided I cbf with this one.
@Prokhor,
I'm amazed that you went and collated all the data on another player to refute moose's calculations.
I'm not usually a fan of policy lynches, they act as only as a partition of information to support a vote, that is unless the player in question goes by the name of drmyshottyissik.
Your "Why so serious" phrase ... are you stalking me? I've currently been using that term quite a bit in another game. (I feel honored to be stalked btw )
VOTE: jimfinn
You'll find many of my posts filled with pointless sarcasm, and I can foresee conflict over this issue. Plus sarcasm is how some people express themselves and I hate people who manipulate it into a scum tell.
Gogo RVS bandwagon!
PS: See sig, I have 3 exams this week then I'm done, and I don't even know why I'm on this site when I obviously should be studying. Fkn mafia.-

Personally, I'm not sure what the purpose of those random votes were; they told me nothing about the alignment of the people casting them, so I don't mind the fact that jim ended the "random vote phase."
No, I don't (I believe I already talked about those, did I not?).ProkhorZakharov wrote:@Rabies: Do you think charter's posts were scummy?
Also, can I please call you PZ? I'll end up spelling your name incorrectly otherwise.
Enigma's last postreallyrubs me the wrong way. To me, his bandwagon jump really fails in the fact that he restated the "overreaction to sarcasm" reason while trying to make it appear as though he had something original to say.

@Rabies ~ I'm not angry, just snarky If I get angry, there will be a string of cuss-words from here to the moon and back. That, or several of you will walk away with claw marks in yer faces. :3 As a side note, the random vote stage is important not because of the votes themselves but because of the responses they illicit. I do not like the random vote stage being cut short, though I suppose an argument can be made that we did see a reaction from it.PokerFace: "I need to play with [Ether] or Mizzy more often."

Just clarifying if you thought it was scummy at all. You said this:Rabies wrote:

What did you mean by "his thought is genuine"?Rabies wrote:While I don't agree with jim's conclusion that charter is scum, I think his thought is genuine.

What I like least about this is how general it is. You're not talking so much about this specific game as how you use see failure to read sarcasm as a scumtell in general. Calling it a "RVS bandwagon" is a problem for me too; the whole lack-of-responsibility thing. Even mid-page 2, I wouldn't call the stuff going on right now in this game "random". I'mma VOTE: Enigma.Enigma wrote:VOTE: jimfinn

It's still RVS. This game has been up for less than a day, and nor has everyone posted.
Please enlighten me to what before my post is not "random".
RVS lasts alot longer than anyone ever cares to admit, so deluding yourself otherwise is just foolish.
And from my past experience, those eager to end RVS fast are those wanting to seem "pro-town" first impressions with their "scum hunting".
Overeager attempt to gain some town credit is noted.
PS: Nice bandwagon. Is this an RVS bandwagon too? Your doing it wrong btw, your supposed to put some funny comment with your vote.-

Enigma, I have to say I'm not fond of your responses. I can see a glimmer of why you have zero town wins. Let's try this:
Obviously, the random voting stage is over. Let's just get that out of the way. I don't see your vote, Enigma, as being random. Please elaborate on why you voted the way you did and provide content that isn't random, pithy or based on "your past experience." Meaning, please provide content related to what little of this game there has been. Leave the sarcasm at home, too.PokerFace: "I need to play with [Ether] or Mizzy more often."

Rabies immediately stands out for calling out Mizzy's lack of a reason for an RVS vote and I was about to vote him for it, but reading his defense, the back of my head is telling me it's a newb tell.
*scoff* "I can't help the fact that I never win as town." Yes you can. This comes off as absolving yourself of any responsibility for scumhunting.Enigma wrote:I have zero wins on my town record out of 4 completed town games ... lawl.

SC played the 18P Ninja Mafia with me. I scum hunted, picked out the scum correctly.
Everyone ignored me. I protested. I died night one
My first newbie game here was a miserable failure and I want to forget it.
I take blame for DEFCON mafia. Fail read and poor tunneling.
I take partial blame for 1053 but being quick hammered less than one day into LYLO isn't impressive.
My play style is like this, learn to love or hate it, it's not going to change.-

ReaperCharlie, you are not playing this game, so you are not allowed to post here. If you wish to play, I'll put you under the potential replacement slot in the circumstance that this game needs a replacement unless you want to be taken off the list.

Jimfinn's reaction to charter threw up a red flag, but I'm willing to let it slide for now.
What I don't like about this is the criticism for using the same scumtell as someone else. Especially since the scumtell in question is in regard to the only thing that jimfinn has done so far, so it's not like there were a wealth of other places to look for information about his role. Furthermore, saying that someone is piggybacking on the arguments of others has no meaning unless there is aRabies wrote:Enigma's last post really rubs me the wrong way. Enigma, if you're going to tell me that I've played with you before and I've seen you scumhunt, then I'm going to need to see you scumhuntAGAIN. Making convincing posts is more likely to get you a win (as either alignment) than whining and complaining about your experience with past games.STRANGERCOUG: Stranger Than You!

I'd like to say it's all the rest of the town's fault, that I'm awesome and they sucked, and that's why we lost. So I'll just say that.moose200x wrote:

In all seriousness though, feel free to look at my wiki. It has links to all my games as well as a brief synopsis of my take on the game. There are a number of them that I say we should have won, but town just made some crucial mistakes. One in particular (paradise mafia) I got played pretty hardcore by the scum.
The fact is, when playing town, the individual player's abilities matter far less than when playing scum, since the individual is a smaller portion of the population of town than scum is of the scum team. Also good town players tend to end up dead early.
For examples of really good town play on my part, look at Clash of Kings, Mafia vs Werewolves, Vengeance NV newbie, and Ghostbusters, For some of my less than stellar games town play, check out Everybody's a Critic, and Paradise Mafia.
@moose: How much should a players win/loss ratio (town or scum) factor into a decision to lynch that player? Why?
Why are you willing to let it slide for now?gonnano wrote:Jimfinn's reaction to charter threw up a red flag, but I'm willing to let it slide for now."LynchMePls is more town than all the players I've ever declared to be townies. And that's never going to change." - Drippereth

Do you have anything to say about the jimfinn/charter/Mizzy/Enigma thing?
moose also confuses me with his pointless banter. It's quite infuriating as I can't tell if he's town or scum from it.
I never argued that it was. My arguement is that Enigma's post reads like a piggyback plus absolutely nothing original, which seems to be what scum wants: to just go with the flow, conformity.seagull wrote:What I don't like about this is the criticism for using the same scumtell as someone else.
