I saw a production of Next to Normal with some friends a year or so ago, i pretty much ruined the sleeve of my jacket with how much I cried -- really good.
did another ms user do something lovely? recognize their achievements here!

Today's modern mafia consumer demands dozens, nay, hundreds of roles that are vanilla cops.

No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you're just gonna have to go with your gut.
And maybe, just maybe, that'll take you right where you were supposed to be.

Wicked
Peter Pan
Beauty and the Beast

I’m not listing them all, but those were some of my favorites. Do operas count? Assumed no.

I've seen an absolute crapton of shows in my time. I grew up close enough to New York City that seeing a Broadway show was a reasonable dawn-to-midnight day trip, and was done on several occasions by school. My family also made a number of trips to the city for the same reason. There is further a very healthy regional and high school theater scene in the Central New York area, and Syracuse Stage (in conjunction with Syracuse University's drama school) was a staple of my youth and adulthood. We're also squarely in the touring circuit. I am
positive
I'm missing several of these.

Truly Brilliant, Singular

Les Miserables (Broadway)
Phantom of the Opera (Toronto, Broadway, Tour x2)
Ragtime (Broadway)
Lion King (Tour)
Wicked (Tour)
Rent (Tour with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal)
Outstanding

Les Miserables (Tour)
Jesus Christ Superstar (Regional)
Mary Poppins (Broadway)
Les Miserables (High School) [Yes, that high on the list]
Chicago (Broadway)
Annie Get Your Gun (Broadway)
West Side Story (Syracuse Stage)
Memorable

Miss Saigon (Tour)
Finding Neverland (Syracuse Stage)
A Christmas Carol (Syracuse Stage)
Rent (Syracuse Stage)
Oliver! (Syracuse Stage)
Young Frankenstein (Regional)
Man of La Mancha (Regional)
South Pacific (High School)
Seussical (High School)
Excellent but nothing special

Elf the Musical (Syracuse Stage)
Rocky Horror Picture Show (College)
Anything Goes (High School)
West Side Story (High School)
The Wizard of Oz (High School x2)
The Pirates of Penzance (High School)
Guys and Dolls (High School x2)
The Music Man (High School)
Meh

Footloose (High School)
The Little Mermaid (High School)
Damn Yankees (High School)
Brigadoon (High School)
Once Upon a Mattress (High School x2)
Hair (College)
Offensively bad

Beauty and the Beast (High School x2)
Spamalot (Tour)
Annie (High School)
======
Shows I have performed in, and am not objective enough to judge

Fiddler on the Roof
The Sound of Music
The Pajama Game
The Music Man
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Okay, this one was bad even from inside)
"Cry havoc, and let slip the wombat of war!"

Act 3, Scene 1 of
Julius Caesar
, by W. Shakespeare

I can’t count shows I’ve been in. I just can’t be objective.

By that metric, my favorite show was The Merry Widow, an opera I performed in college. But musically, I’ve performed so much more interesting stuff! I just had a great time during production.

"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"
