Also in terms of flavor, specific things that I thought were kind of cool...

1) nero's character by mythology kills fenrir, can't get mire flavor specifically than that
2) aten is an aspect of ra, pairing them that way was fun
3) chronos is killed by Zeus in mythology - the time aspect was the Roleblocker, so explicitly adding a carveout was imo fun
4) Buddha power I thought was fun too and pretty character specific as well
5) Hecate ability was low utility but in line with flavor

just ignore me a bit I guess b/c I'm going to writing out my thoughts when I haven't finished the mod thread yet.

like "Welcome, Dramonic! You are Chronos, aligned with the Mafia. You are an Informed Conditional Macho Roleblocker."

Like he's the personification of time and created the heavens. Other than both being Greek I'm not seeing a connection with Zues or roleblock.
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronos
Chronos and his Child by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli, National Museum in Warsaw, a 17th century depiction of Titan Cronus as "Father Time," wielding a harvesting scythe
During antiquity, Chronos was occasionally interpreted as Cronus.[4] According to Plutarch, the Greeks believed that Cronus was an allegorical name for Chronos.[5] In addition to the name, the story of Cronus eating his children was also interpreted as an allegory to a specific aspect of time held within Cronus' sphere of influence.

As the theory went, Cronus represented the destructive ravages of time which consumed all things, a concept that was definitely illustrated when the Titan king devoured the Olympian gods — the past consuming the future, the older generation suppressing the next generation. During the Renaissance, the identification of Cronus and Chronos gave rise to "Father Time" wielding the harvesting scythe.

The original meaning and etymology of the word chronos are uncertain.[6] Some of the current English words whose etymological root is khronos/chronos include chronology, chronometer, chronic, anachronism, and chronicle.
Time stopping = roleblocking
Vulnerable to Zeus = killed by Zeus his son

Weird. It's almost like Wikipedia said that the two were, for some sources, interchangeable.

I skimmed, can you just quote this big post that explains why each God is the role they are?

Maybe that's too snarky. But not really sure how to react when you completely ignored the explanation offered innwhat I just cited there.

Does such a thing ever exist in a upick? Like, mods actually write essays about why they did it instead of the much more obvious "ok here you go this looks good, hey reviewers what do you think"?

Like, the key concept here was the pantheon hoods and powers cycling,,which pretty decently tied to how god picks grouped.

After that, it was finding roles that reasonably fit flavor and making sure balance wasn't shitty.

Not really much mire of an essay to be had.

"Chronos already was confused with, or perhaps consciously identified with, the Titan Cronus in antiquity due to the similarity in names."

Anyway, my thought was flavor and role for the most part meshed pretty decently, with a few roles I think tying together in a pretty cool way. If you disgree, that's ok.

I thought the roles were really neat in how they interacted with the Gods, and I learned some new mythology in the process of creating this game! :)
