A dark sense of wonderment befell the city, as they realized how close they'd come with certain disaster. Things had fallen into place, and if not for a good amount of luck and skill, they realized with a shiver that it could easily have been very different. The Trifecta had moved into town as an omen of worse things to come, and a collective utterance of discontentment had echoed through the city upon their arrival. They had been quite successful from whence they'd come, no doubt; but life in the big city was unforgiving. The people here were different. They were not the kind to merely lay down, the kind to let you walk all over them without a second thought. No, they most definitely were not.

The citizens of Metropolis were different. They were hardened. In this city, the citizens would stand up and fight for themselves, tooth and nail. Vigilantes roamed the streets, seeking perpetrators of evil to devour. Yeah, they weren't perfect, but neither was any city with such a melting pot of cultures and idealisms. Sure, there would always be someone to cause the city trouble, but this threat had passed; for the moment, at least. The citizens could breathe a sign of relief knowing that their masked heroes would continue to come through for them; watching over them at night... performing thankless deeds night after night, sacrificing their own time and safety, doing whatever was necessary for the

Redemption of Metropolis.

So, perhaps Daniel McCullough's death was not in vain after all,

thought Brandt Martin, the newly appointed Mayor of Metropolis. Often it had tormented him at night that his old friend's death might truly be the end of peace and hope in the big city, but he had done his utmost to ensure that such would not be the case. During the ceremony, he'd been silently thinking of the great shoulders he now stood on: the shoulders of giants before him. And he was determined to do, as they did, his part for the great city which he called home. And today marked the beginning of a new era for Metropolis. As he received the giant golden scissors from the citizen handing to him, he strode gallantly up to the brand new Metropolis Crime Reduction Center, he slowed as his mind was pierced with a single thought, clear and true: that civility would reign on the streets of Metropolis.

Some notes about the bulletproof vest:

- It was a variable-strength vest. Well, maybe that's not the best way to put it. It had different percentages of success depending on how many times it had already succeeded. First time was 100% bulletproof, second time was 66% chance of survival, third time was 33% chance, and after that, the vest holder/wearer would have been told that it was completely useless.

- It was hit twice on Night 1. Another hit on it would have very likely gone through. Even if not though, it would have been the last hit, and the vest would have been used up.

- I think if twice would have been all it had, that the game would have been much more balanced overall because the PRs would have been much less vocal and there would have been much less "invincible town planning" going on. However, on the flip side, once you see the dead QT, you'll understand just how LITTLE planning the Trifecta did (they had daytalk as well, which unfortunately did them very little good as they failed to coordinate very well regardless).

Yay!!! I had to wonder about GB's alignment when I saw he was a citizen. I was sad when Espy killed Stef over MOI that day. I wanted MOI dead first because he was scummy to me and I was checking Stef's alignment that night.
Fate was obv town. There was no way I believed he was scum this game.
MOI's push on people were way off and scummy. He ignored Gold who looked like obvious scum to me and then kept calling Fate GF then I thought he was saying that in case I checked Fate out and saw he was citizen.
I loved doing the WIFOM
Also RC was privy to my thoughts but I didn't want to leak the info that the vest may not protect completely. When Agar talked about it in thread I cringed a bit inside and hoped the scum wouldn't try to test it.
