What are you talking about? This statement feels like a roleclaim but I don't see any roles that could logically say this.

Not to be too contrary, but the bookie
could
contribute a LOT towards getting someone lynched.

One solution to the 3 day requirement-- the mod can have the masons send in a note when they feel they've discussed enough. The others can withhold their choice until they are finished.

As to how much discussion is required... there should be a lot of discussion. Maybe not night 1, but definitely on later nights there should be.

The thing that is most in favor of the town, is the fact that there are two killing groups. We have them trying to kill each other off first, which is good.

mod:
Will you please update the governor role in the second post?

vote: Puzzle
... I got your back, Pooky! (jeepfest reference, don't read anything into it ;)

I like this. I was not trying to eliminate or shorten discussion every single night of this game for those 3 groups-rather I just don't think it'll take 3 days every single time. If Cad and others are fine with this, I am too.

There's no doubt where I'd put my money if I were the bookie. Do you think it'd be possible for us to lynch BJ and then have the bookie resurrect him if he's pro-town?

 Whoa! Dude! The edit buttons are now way over there!

Sorry.

For the record. I never said we SHOULD lynch BJ because of that, I'm just saying BJ has a higher probability of being the bookie's pick (which is probably true, regardless of who the bookie is, unless of course it's BJ).
Astronaut wrote:There's no doubt where I'd put my money if I were the bookie. Do you think it'd be possible for us to lynch BJ and then have the bookie resurrect him if he's pro-town?
So you're suggesting like a public cop investigation. The only way this would work would be if the bookie came forward, and I'm not convinced that's a great strategy of lynching and reviving.

Obviously using this to investigate someone, unless we want to revive someone killed...at least the dead have a 50% of not being one of the scum.

Well, the scum would probably decide to kill him and so we would lose knowing what he is (though that may be good if he's revealed to not be scum).

The problem I have with it is that it automatically locks us into a particular choice tomorrow, which I don't like. Too much can happen between now and then.

I certainly would not allow this to determine a night 1 kill if I was scum with him and I think very few here would. IIRC mathcam already managed to (correctly) get someone lynched day 1 because his usual N1 target died night 1.

About the length of nights. I think they should never be shorter than 2 days. As people come from different timezones a shorter night could possibly give a clue to someones role.

Problem with the lynch+resurrect BJ plan is that it locks our docs onto 1 person : the bookie.
I am not sure I quite like this.
For now, I'll ask Thoth to come up with reasons why I should be voting for him, and I'd like him to respond to those.

OK, sure. I'll
unvote: Pooky; vote HezLucky
and I'll encourage everyone else to join me. The ONLY people who want me dead this early are scum. No matter what my alignment is, the town wants me alive. If I'm scum, I'll reduce the opposing scum to nothing. If I'm town, I'll reduce both opposing scums to nothing. So yeah, clearly HezLucky is the way to go.

Much as I don't want this to become Dybeck vs jeep, a post that amounts to 'anyone who votes for me is scum' can't be described as anything but scummy.

Actually, without the comment, it's not really a big deal. With the comment, his vote for me makes zero sense. You can chalk my vote up to OMGUS, if you want, but it's not.

That's a deliberate misinterpretation of what I said. I never said that your vote was OMGUS, or that your vote was motivated by spite in any sense.

Your vote was a calculated attempt to start a bandwagon (you said this explicitly), which simultaneously made people scared to vote for you.

In my opinion OMGUS and 'anyone who votes for me is scum' are close to synonymous (is that a word :? ). It's certainly not twisting words.

I think in essence Jeep's argument ('Trying for a Jeep lynch day 1 is scummy') has merit, but I don't think it applies here for a Day 1, post 1 vote.
Compare with starting day 1 with a post like this:
vote:Fuldu because he's always the doc.

I also feel that if scum was desperate enough to try and get Jeep lynched day 1 they probably would have just targeted him at night, hoping the doc chose someone else.

I'm here now.

Jeep's comment is weird. All though I've seen him joke that "he's never scum, ever" before.
