The arbitorium is staffed, chefs cook healthy and renewable foods, clerks file documentations and mechanics perform preventative maintainance. One morning, taped diligently to the door of every sleeping quarter, is a note.

As part of any experiment to determine sustainibility, stability must be measured.

Later that day, 4 air scubbers explode in a fit of smoke. The conclusion is obvious. The absent overseers simply repeat the contents of the note.
