After seeing the recent pages, I'll vote any wagon today except Brian and ckd.

P-Edit: Well yeah, I didn't expect you to fall entirely back on VCA.

@Brian, I don't see who he'd be misdirecting from. Goodmorning and Rip are the other two in my pool. So them.

@Goodmorning, for a player that's played with me so much, you should know my VCA trumps behavior. Every time.

It's probably also why your reads tend to blow and you often try to clear scum and mislynch town. I'm also finding it hard to believe that you'd openly admit how weak your VCA is this game yet blindly rely on it as heavily as you are now.

Why RIP? He's the main reason you're even here right now.

I highly doubt there are 6 scum this game. Even though this is a large, the only game this size I've seen with 6 scum is Graveyard Shift Mafia, and that game had a White Flag mechanic.

My VCA isn't weak. It's just not 100% solely because of the sleeper.

I'm here because Nero left. I don't see what RIP has to do with it. He had no clue who would join the game. Second, no one would deliberately bring me in at this point unless they totally thought they could fool my VCA. Which RIP did not so...

Speaking of that game, my read was REALLY good that game. Second, notice the clause "rare event" means its unlikely.

What is your stance on GM?

In post 5634, Titus wrote:What is your stance on GM?

Unless Val's lying about her first action (and there's really no reason to believe she would be even if she were the sleeper), then there's probably a roleblocker somewhere and it's probably hiding in the mass of claimed VT's (or it's your slot, but I don't see the point in trying to convince you you're scum).

I can't stand RIP's posting, but I keep falling back towards thinking he's really trying to figure out the game and I don't think scum would be so adamant about getting a replacement over keeping an apathetic player in the game. I just feel like scum would prefer to have a more apathetic game state to fall back on. Also, some of his explained thought process do make some sense if you think about them.

If GM's scum, she has a great opportunity to lynch me here and she's not taking it. I thought there was some hydra dissonance earlier in the game, but after reading their posts, I think it's more likely some of us were just misreading what they had to say in the game. She's also been pretty consistent as activity has been concerned and I think she's one of the few players left that's actually thinking about the game from a logical standpoint that makes any sense (maybe, I could be entirely wrong about this as she could be buddying me).

Nik is just kind of there for me. I think he looked great earlier, but he tends to throw out these soft theories and then take them back at a moment's notice and I think it's possible he's having trouble looking town or making town sounding posts. He's also been fading into the background recently and not making any dedicated pushes anywhere.

What even is your issue with me? You've been tunneling me and ignoring a lot of what I've been saying since you replaced in and your vote on me is starting to feel premeditated at this point.

@Brian, You're point. Gaming mod decisions isn't the game.

Metal Sonic and I were craving an Oversoul replacement in We the Purple II. Not perfect as I know that I'm not scum but still, scum can ask for replacements and I do those sort of things all the time as scum. Don't read the request, look at the motivation. Did RIP fear being lynched if there wasn't a voice defending him? Did Nero have reads he wanted out of the way but couldn't kill him? Read the motivation, not the act.

You're whining that I'm "ignoring" you yet I'm addressing your questions and you've been asking me things I had already been over with CKD (Why is Nik only scum with GM?). My issue with you is that you were decent at the start of the game, but then were utterly terrible. That's my issue, and your posts looks like what I'd expect to see for a sleeper. Do I know that? No. Then I find out that you've "forgotten" to submit actions to the mod. I'd be fine with that if this is your usual lurktastic game, but you aren't lurking, you're invested.

Role PMs:

Spoiler: Toogeloo/Gaius Baltar
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Toogeloo
. You are
Gaius Baltar
.

When you passed information on the Colonial defence mainframe to an impossibly beautiful woman whose name you enjoyed never asking, you had no idea that she was a Cylon who would use it to orchestrate the near-extermination of humankind. Now you’ve unwittingly become the fleet’s foremost expert on Cylons … and you’ve started to see that woman again. Is she appearing to you from a basestar to manipulate you further to further the Cylons’ genocide? Is she a figment of your imagination brought on by guilt and possible insanity? Or is she something else entirely? You’ll have to work out how to deal with her while navigating the suspicions of your fellow humans.

You have the following abilities in this game:
Head Six:
You share a private topic here with
PeaceBringer (Number Six)
, in which you may post at any time, Day or Night. Six cannot post in the game thread, vote or be voted for. You do not know whether or not she is a Cylon agent. Whether or not you bring what she says to the game thread – and how, or if, you explain it - is up to you.
Cylon Detector:
During each Day, there will be a public vote in the game thread for somebody to submit to your Cylon screenings. When a target is chosen by majority, you will receive a result during the subsequent Night as to whether or not that person is a Cylon. It is possible to discover the Cylon Sleeper Agent’s true nature in this way – possibly even before they know it themselves.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Gaius Baltar, Human Neighbour and Cylon Detector
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: PeaceBringer/Number Six
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
PeaceBringer
. You are
Number Six
.

Though you look like one of the twelve Cylon models, as she appeared to Gaius Baltar on Caprica, you are in fact something much more. As an agent of God, you are here to ensure that humanity fulfils its destiny, appearing only to Baltar as you seek to guide him towards that end. You are far from omniscient, however, despite your otherly status … and your own faith may be tested by Gaius’s strange behaviour.

You have the following abilities in this game:
Head Six:
You share a private topic here with
Toogeloo (Gaius Baltar)
, in which you may post at any time, Day or Night. You MAY NOT post in the game thread, vote or be voted for. For the purposes of all other mechanics, you will be treated as if you are not in this game. You may advise Baltar as you wish in your private topic but whether or not he relays that advice to the main game thread is up to him. You do not know whether he is a human or a Cylon – if he is the Cylon Sleeper Agent, then he may not either.
Shelley Godfrey:
Once per game, at Night, you may PM the moderator to enter the game thread during the following Day only. During that Day, you may post in the game thread, vote or be voted for. This effect ends immediately upon the end of that Day. If you are lynched on that Day, you will flip as usual but may continue to post in your private topic with Baltar. Baltar does not know that you have this ability.
Gina Inviere:
You know that Helena Cain is in the game as of the start of Day 1. Once per game, if Cain is still alive, you may PM the moderator at Night to activate this ability. Beginning at the start of the next Day and ending at the end of the following Night, you and Cain will gain a private topic in which you may post at any time. You may advise Cain as you wish in your private topic but whether or not she relays that advice to the main game thread is up to her. You do not know whether she is a human or a Cylon – if she is the Cylon Sleeper Agent, then she may not either. You may not activate this ability on the same Night on which you activate Shelley Godfrey. Neither Baltar nor Cain know that you have this ability.

On the event of your lynch or the death at any time of Gaius Baltar, you would flip
Number Six, Human-Aligned Incorporeal Neighbour
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: AngryPidgeon/Helo
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
AngryPidgeon
. You are
Karl ‘Helo’ Agathon
.

A lieutenant in the Colonial Fleet and an ECO on one of the Galactica’s raptors, you gave up your seat to a refugee from Caprica during the Cylon attacks – and now you’re stuck on this gods-forsaken planet with a handful of survivors, trying to find a way back to the remnants of humanity. Nobody loves the service more than you but can you get back to Galactica to save it from the Cylons’ plans?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Stranded on Caprica:
During Day 1, you MAY NOT post in the game thread, nor may you vote or be voted for. Instead, you will share a private topic here with
THE WRONG LYNCH
and
Mantisdreamz
, who are also looking for a way back to Galactica. You do not know their alignments, nor do they know yours. At the end of Day 1, all three of you will return to the rest of the game.
Moral Compass:
Once during each Day other than Day 1, you may PM the moderator with the name of a player. If that player reaches the majority required for a lynch, you will spare them and the game will proceed to Night without a lynch. If this ability is successfully used to prevent a lynch, you will be unable to activate it again for the rest of the game. This ability does not work on Days on which a town lynch would cause the game to end.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Karl ‘Helo’ Agathon, Human One-shot Governor
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: THE WRONG LYNCH/Boomer
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
THE WRONG LYNCH
. You are
Sharon ‘Boomer’ Valerii
.

You are a pilot, serving aboard the Galactica to fly raptors. During the attack on the Colonies, you landed on Caprica to take on board survivors but were stranded on the nuked planet in the process and must now seek a way back to your ship and the remnants of humanity in the fleet. At least you’ve found some fellow survivors here who can help you return … but can you trust them? Can you trust yourself?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Stranded on Caprica:
During Day 1, you MAY NOT post in the game thread, nor may you vote or be voted for. Instead, you will share a private topic here with
AngryPidgeon
and
Mantisdreamz
, who are also looking for a way back to Galactica. You do not know their alignments, nor do they know yours. At the end of Day 1, all three of you will return to the rest of the game.

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Mantisdreamz
. You are
Samuel T. ‘Longshot’ Anders
.

This is so frakked up. You were just the star pyramid player on the Caprica Buccaneers before the Cylons came and shot everything to hell, and now you’re doing your best to fight the toasters on the ground, with what’s left of the Colonial Fleet having run away and abandoned you. At least you’ve found some fellow survivors who can help you to get the frak off this gods-forsaken planet … but can you trust them? Can you trust yourself?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Stranded on Caprica:
During Day 1, you MAY NOT post in the game thread, nor may you vote or be voted for. Instead, you will share a private topic here with
AngryPidgeon
and
THE WRONG LYNCH
, who are also looking for a way back to Galactica. You do not know their alignments, nor do they know yours. At the end of Day 1, all three of you will return to the rest of the game.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Samuel T. ‘Longshot’ Anders, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: ValiliaRei/Apollo
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
ValiliaRei
. You are
Lee ‘Apollo’ Adama
.

Grandson of a lawyer and son of one of the most respected commanders in the Colonial Fleet, you’ve risen to become one of the best viper pilots around – but you still haven’t quite figured out your true place in the world. And now the Cylons have come and frakked up the entirety of civilisation, and you barely have time to think any more. Versatile and honourable, your fellow humans are sure to depend on you more than ever in this time of ultimate crisis … and you’ll need to have as much faith in yourself as they do. But can you?

You have the following abilities in this game:

CAG:
You can be relied upon to save lives when the chips are down, excelling in the cockpit of a viper to protect the fleet. Once per game, at Night, you may PM the moderator the name of a player. That player will be protected from any and all kills during that Night.
Like Father, Like Son:
As one of the highest-ranking military officers left alive and owing to your obvious leadership ability, you may find yourself pressed into service as a commander. Once per game, at Night, you may PM the moderator the name of a player. If that player’s character ever served aboard the Battlestar Pegasus, then any actions that they take that night will be immune to interference effects (including but not necessarily limited to roleblocking, protection, redirection, etc.) and they will also be told that you inspired them.
Caprica Delegate:
As capable a military man as you are, you could also do some good as a civilian by working with the Quorum of Twelve, using the power of paperwork to obstruct the misuse of power. Once per game, at Night, you may PM the moderator the name of a player. Any factional or individual actions that your target attempts to activate during that Night will fail.
Conflicted:
You may activate a maximum of one ability per Night.
Going Soft:
You struggle with guilt and despair and will take comfort in food when they get the better of you. If and when you have used two of your above abilities then, during the Day immediately after your second activation, you will be unable to vote. This supersedes So Say We All.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Lee ‘Apollo’ Adama, Human Jack of all Trades
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: curiouskarmadog/Felix Gaeta
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
curiouskarmadog
. You are
Felix Gaeta
.

You are a young officer stationed in Galactica’s CIC, quickly becoming indispensable to those higher up the chain of command with your resourcefulness and intellect. Though you serve loyally, however, you can’t help but question some of the decisions being made. At times, it feels like the decision-makers are punishing their own people more than the Cylons who murdered so many innocents. Can you trust those in charge? Can you even trust yourself?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Driven to Mutiny:
As time goes on, you feel more and more the need to put an end to what you see as collaboration with the enemy – and
NotAnAxehole (Tom Zarek)
feels the same way. Starting on Night 2, you will share a private topic with Zarek in which you may post at Day or Night. At any time from that point on, if both of you are still alive, Zarek may post in bold in that topic ‘Kill: Playername’, which will cause you to kill that player. You will be unable to prevent the resolution of this action. If the kill is submitted during a Day, the kill would resolve at the same time as the Day’s lynch. If his target is lynched, no note will be made of the kill attempt in thread but the ability will be used up anyway. Once submitted, the target may not be changed. This ability can only be activated once. You do not know if Zarek is a human or a Cylon.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Felix Gaeta, Human Mutineer
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: NotAnAxehole/Tom Zarek
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
NotAnAxehole
. You are
Tom Zarek
.

Some people call you a terrorist, and they locked you up for it when you blew up a government building and killed several people in the process. But times have changed – with humanity on the run from the Cylons, your charisma and zeal in fighting for the little guy against the oppressor have seen you released and ascend to vice president of the Colonies. As for whether or not you truly are a freedom fighter or if you’re just out for as much power as you can get … you certainly don’t plan on telling anyone. At any rate, in times like these, when anybody could be a Cylon agent, the only person you trust to call the shots is yourself.

You have the following abilities in this game:

Blood on the Scales:
As time goes on, you feel more and more the need to put an end to what you see as collaboration with the enemy – and
curiouskarmadog (Felix Gaeta)
feels the same way. Starting on Night 2, you will share a private topic with Gaeta in which you may post at Day or Night. At any time from that point on, if both of you are still alive, you may post in bold in that topic ‘Kill: Playername’, which will cause Gaeta to kill that player. He will be unable to prevent the resolution of this action. If the kill is submitted during a Day, the kill would resolve at the same time as the Day’s lynch. If his target is lynched, no note will be made of the kill attempt in thread but the ability will be used up anyway. Once submitted, the target may not be changed. This ability can only be activated once. You do not know if Gaeta is a human or a Cylon.
Convicted:
If you successfully use Blood on the Scales to kill somebody then, effective from the next Day, the number of votes required to lynch you will be permanently reduced by one. It may never fall below one.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Tom Zarek, Human Mutineer
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Bookitty/Starbuck
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Bookitty
. You are
Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace
.

You are the hottest shot on Galactica, in or out of a viper. Deeply frakked up by a terrible childhood and your guilt over your role in the preventable death of your fiancé, Zak Adama, you have found a home on this ship … though that hasn’t stopped you from causing trouble. You’re Kara frakkin’ Thrace, a one-woman wrecking ball, but can you overcome your demons to save humanity, or will you self-destruct under the pressure?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Pain in the Ass:
Whether it’s tailing a bogey in your viper or whipping a nugget into shape, you are relentless and you will follow through. The only way to shake you off is to throw you into the brig. Each Night, you may PM the moderator the name of a player. You will be told who, if anyone, that player visited during that Night.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace, Human Tracker
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Andrius/Helena Cain
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Andrius
. You are
Helena Cain
.

You rose quickly through the ranks of the Colonial Fleet to reach the rank of Admiral and your quick thinking saw your flagship, the Pegasus, narrowly escape the destruction of the Twelve Colonies. Since then, you have conducted guerrilla operations against the Cylons and have had to make difficult and uncompromising decisions to survive. You command with absolute authority and the discovery that the Cylons can take human form means that, more than ever, the only person whom you can truly trust is yourself. Unless you can’t…

You have the following abilities in this game:

Ranking Officer:
As the highest-ranking military officer on either Pegasus or Galactica, you don’t need majority approval to make every decision – you can push things through with the right order at the right time. Once per game, if you vote for a player who is two votes away from the threshold required to be lynched, your vote will count double, thereby lynching them immediately.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Helena Cain, Human One-shot Executioner
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Tammy/William Adama
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Tammy
. You are
William Adama
.

A veteran of the first Cylon War, you returned to the Colonial Fleet in peacetime before being given command of the Galactica as a way to gracefully ease you towards retirement after a botched mission that may have provoked the Cylon holocaust. Now you are a level-headed, inspirational and respected leader, looking out for the Galactica and the remnant fleet that it protects. But the revelation that the Cylons can now appear human means that not everyone you thought you could trust is truly on your side … perhaps not even yourself.

You have the following abilities in this game:

Outranked:
Though Galactica’s reunion with the lost Battlestar Pegasus was a moment for celebration, its commander, Admiral Helena Cain, outranks you and thus supplanted you in charge of the fleet. You know that Helena Cain is in this game and has a power beyond that of a Townie. If she dies and you are still alive, you will inherit her power.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
William Adama, Human Backup Admiral
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Nero Cain/Crashdown
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Nero Cain
. You are
Alex ‘Crashdown’ Quartararo
.

A survivor of the Battlestar Triton, you were absorbed into Galactica’s roster of pilots after the Cylons frakked everything to hell and have been serving as a raptor ECO. Though loyal to your fellow raptor jockeys, this frakked-up situation will test you in ways for which you’re not sure that you’re ready. Everything that you know about leadership, you learned from the book, for better or worse. Can you keep your head in a crisis? Or will your demons consume you?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Not Fit to Lead:
When the pressure is on, you’re too inflexible and inexperienced to take charge – it could mean danger if you do. If you vote for a player who has fewer than half of the votes required to lynch (rounded down, not counting your vote) then, during the following Day, you will be unable to vote at all. This supersedes So Say We All.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Alex ‘Crashdown’ Quartararo, Human Bandwagoner
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: LLD/Kendra Shaw
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Lady Lambdadelta
. You are
Kendra Shaw
.

The daughter of a Quorum delegate, you were assigned to the Battlestar Pegasus by the Ministry of Defence supposedly only due to her influence but you quickly impressed Admiral Helena Cain as her personal aide and grew into one of her most trusted officers. You’ve had to do some morally questionable things to survive and the guilt drove you to drugs … but at least you know why you’re feeling guilty. Right?

You have the following abilities in this game:

So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Kendra Shaw, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Nikanor/Ellen Tigh
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Nikanor
. You are
Ellen Tigh
.

You are ambitious and conniving, not to mention a shameless flirt. You’ve been estranged from your long-time husband, Saul Tigh, since he returned to military service and were on Picon when the Cylons attacked the Twelve Colonies. Through the kindness of a stranger, you made it onto a ship fleeing the disaster and integrated into the civilian fleet now following Galactica, which you have since boarded. But can you purr and wink your way into safety, now that the Cylons can look human? Can you even trust yourself?

You have the following abilities in this game:

So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Ellen Tigh, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Porochaz/Peter Laird
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Porochaz
. You are
Peter Laird
.

A civilian aeronautical engineer aboard the Scylla when it escaped from the Cylon attack on the Colonies, you were forcibly pressed into military service by Admiral Helena Cain when your convoy was found and stripped for resources by the Pegasus. Though you’d rather not be here, you are a capable deck chief and well-liked by your colleagues. But now that the Cylons can look human, can you trust those around you? Can you trust yourself?

You have the following abilities in this game:

So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Peter Laird, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: SnowStorm/Tory Foster
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
SnowStorm
. You are
Tory Foster
.

You are a savvy political operator, having worked as a pollster for the Federalist Party back on Caprica … before the Cylons came and frakked everything up. Having escaped the holocaust, you came to the civilian fleet and have been working on Colonial One as part of the Roslin administration. But the news that anyone could be a Cylon now is troubling … at least you’re the kind of person willing to make unpleasant and ruthless decisions if needs be. Maybe you’re the only one whom you can really trust … maybe not even that.

You have the following abilities in this game:

So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Tory Foster, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: RIP/Diana Seelix
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
RIP
. You are
Diana ‘Hardball’ Seelix
.

You are a member of Galactica’s deck crew, specialising in avionics, as well as a promising rookie viper pilot. Strong-willed and, at times, unscrupulous, you’re no stranger to a fight and you’re willing to push hard for the little guy, as evidenced by your participation in worker strike action and lobbying for flight training. But now that Cylons can look like humans, it’s hard for you to trust anyone to get things done … maybe not even yourself.

You have the following abilities in this game:

So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Diana ‘Hardball’ Seelix, Human Townie
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Brian Skies/Racetrack
Image

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica Mafia,
Brian Skies
. You are
Margaret ‘Racetrack’ Edmondson
.

You are a raptor pilot serving on Galactica, known for your bitter and cynical attitude and your extreme contempt for the Cylons after they frakked the Colonies all to hell. Often working with your ECO, ‘Skulls’, you are frequently relied upon as Galactica’s eyes and ears, scouting ahead towards possible jump destinations on the road towards Earth. But now that the Cylons can look like humans, anyone around you could be a toaster. At least you can trust yourself … right?

You have the following abilities in this game:

Recon:
When Galactica needs somebody to look out for potential danger, people turn to you – not that they need to ask, as your paranoia of Cylon agents means that you keep one eye open at all times anyway. Each Night, you may PM the moderator the name of a player. You will be told who else, if anyone, targeted that player during that Night.
So Say We All:
During the Day, you may use your vote to lynch a player.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Margaret ‘Racetrack’ Edmondson, Human Watcher
.

You win when any and all Cylon players, including the Cylon Sleeper Agent, are dead and at least one human player remains alive, or when nothing can prevent such a situation.

Spoiler: Racetrack's Sleeper Agent PM sent at start of Night 3
Everything is so frakked up. No matter what you do, the Cylons just keep coming – and everybody keeps depending on you. “Scout that nebula, Racetrack,” they say. “Pilot this sabotaged raptor.” It would be fine if you could get any sleep … but every time you try, you just lie awake, the ghostly flickers of a song that you could swear you recognise piercing in its near-inaudibility. Lately, it’s followed you everywhere. You’re starting to hear snapshots over the radio, even through the walls of the frakking ship itself. How is nobody else hearing this?

It won’t go away. You can feel half-remembered lyrics playing across your lips. Unearthly screeches and thrums start to shake at your very soul. You’re walking somewhere, you don’t know where … and then you know. No! Not this!

Yes, it’s true. It’s always been true. You want to scream, but it’s true.

You are the Cylon Sleeper Agent.

You retain all previous abilities and gain the following new ones:

There Are Many Copies:
You are part of the Cylon scum group with
sangres (John Cavil)
,
ooba (Leoben Conoy)
and
BROseidon (D’Anna Biers)
. You share a private topic, in which you may post during pregame and Night phases. You share a factional kill, which may be used in addition to any individual abilities by the same person during the same Night.
Prisoners:
You and your scumgroup know that the following characters do not appear in this game and are safe to claim: Laura Roslin, Saul Tigh, Galen Tyrol, Anastasia ‘Dee’ Dualla, Elosha and Aaron Kelly. At any time, any member of your scumgroup may request a role PM for any character name with any ability or abilities (you may ask for a character not included in the preceding list if you wish) and the moderator will provide one.

On the event of your death, you would flip
Margaret ‘Racetrack’ Edmondson, Cylon Sleeper Agent and Watcher
.

Disregard your previous win condition. Your true win condition is as follows: You win when all human players are dead and at least one Cylon player remains alive, or when such a situation can no longer be prevented.

Welcome to Battlestar Galactica,
Albert B. Rampage
. You are
John Cavil
.

Your line, the Number Ones, was the first of the humanoid-model Cylons created by the last survivors of the Thirteenth Tribe, and you couldn’t be angrier about it. There’s so much potential for synthetic life to experience the universe, but you are limited to this ridiculous bag of flesh, created in the image of humanity, a race of barbaric idiots. You might not be able to transcend your nature but you can sure as hell wipe out the virus that is humanity – the holocaust on the Twelve Colonies is just the beginning.

Once the Sleeper Agent awakes, they will join your scumgroup. If your scumgroup attempts to kill the Sleeper Agent at Night before they have awoken, the kill will fail.
Centurion Strike:
As the de facto leader of the Cylons, you can order the obedient centurions to attack someone on your behalf. Once per game, at Night, you may PM me the name of a player. If that player is alive during the following Day, they will be unable to vote for that Day only.

This really didn't work out how I hoped it would - and I had high hopes.

The blame for this is primarily on me - I drafted the setup and the final version is almost completely unchanged from that draft.

Beyond the fact that both Nexus and I love BSG, there were two main reasons why I wanted to make this game: one, to implement the Baltar-and-Six dynamic in a way that worked, and two, to pull off the Sleeper Agent mechanic. Head Six, in particular, was a concept for a mafia game that had been kicking around in my head for at least a couple of years.

I wrote the below around Day 4. I'll undoubtedly have much more to say over the next couple of days but this addresses what I think were the biggest issues with the game:

While I do still believe that there are players other than PeaceBringer who would have been
more
enthusiastic about the challenge of playing this Six, it's clear to me now that I didn't get this right, which is really frustrating as it was absolutely what I spent at least 80% of the setup design worrying about. It used to be even less involved, if you can believe that - the Gina ability was something we added later, after asking Xdaamno as my test subject to see if he would be excited to receive the role PM. In his defence, he recommended what would have been a better extra ability (something like posting notes in the flavour or similar) but we couldn't figure out a way to make that work thematically. LESSON: Be willing to compromise on theme accuracy if it makes for a better game.

I was really excited about the implications of Six as a role - you get a thorough examination of this one other player. Can you trust them? What happens if you give them your reads - do they choose to translate them to the thread? What does
how
they do that make you think of them? One thing I didn't really see coming was PeaceBringer immediately claiming his Shelley ability to Toogeloo, like straight away. That was meant to be the tool for a Six still unsure of Baltar to jump into the thread and really shake things up for that guy, but it never worked out that way. Her suspicions were meant to be compounded by Baltar being afraid to say too much as the guy who gets screening results every Night, but this probably wasn't an aspect of the show tension that was ever going to replicate properly to that important a town Cop role. And, as some players guessed, making either Baltar or Six actually scum would have been really hard on both of them.

So that was the main mistake. Ultimately, Six wouldn't have been enough fun for anyone. But there were more.

I didn't want the game to be breakable on flavour - that's why the Cylons had six safeclaims and a Sleeper Agent who was a human on the show (though she wasn't necessarily going to be - more on that in a moment). But I do regret not making one of the initial scum players a show-human. That, in fact, was always the plan when I started thinking about the game, but a desire to represent some of the show-Cylon characters whom I love with interesting, thematic abilities got the better of me. I should have killed my darlings and sacrificed a comparatively weak Cavil or Leoben role for frakkin' Cottle or something. Multiple people knew that Andrius was Cain but that should never have made them townread him so hard for it (part of the problem here is the last-minute nature of the addition of Six's Gina power, when Cain was the last person to whom we should have created another connection).

The Sleeper Agent! So here's how the allocation worked: I created the setup with the three scum and 18 town, drafted it fully with roles and flavour, then randomised the sleeper out of the human characters (ignorning Six and Baltar), with the knowledge that I would then tweak the setup for balance once the sleeper was assigned (the Tracker and Watcher combo would not have been allowed to stand if both Starbuck and Racetrack were human, for example). As it happened, Racetrack looked like a solid enough choice to me, so no big changes were made.

I wanted the sleeper's flip to come at a meaningful stage of the game, so that they didn't just get a token Day as town before switching sides. With hindsight, maybe Night 3 was too late for a Racetrack sleeper? I'd also sort of assumed that human players would be a little more paranoid of being sleepers than they had any right to be but Brian was probably right to play the odds and just play full-human, picking clear human-motivated targets and claiming when he saw people target the dead person. So I feel pretty bad on his behalf for him ending up in that position, and I wanted to cry when I saw Bookitty track sangres to him on Night 2.

And there's not even a question that we lowballed the size of the scumteam given all of the above, overestimating the power of the sleeper mechanic and underestimating how well Baltar could clear people without getting immediately annihilated. Makes me feel pretty silly.

Ultimately, I'm left wishing I'd given the flavour a better game. But I hope that at least some people involved had fun with it! Thank you for playing. Thank you for those who stuck it out the whole way, thank you to those who replaced into a very long game, and thank you who helped make it happen in the first place, misguided as parts of it were.

@CDB, I think the setup was well, but it was only later in the game.

The fact Brian did so well as essentially solo scum is a testament to him. I was expecting at least one more additional scum (that's why I was surprised by Brian's hammer rather than him capitalizing on the undercurrent of Titus being scum because his buddy would have helped out.)

I'll admit I didn't read the whole thing but I was excited by the mechanic and wanted to test my VCA here with the sleeper mechanic. I do think some of your choices did help balance for fewer scum (namely the removing four town from the day 1 lynch). Overall, the concept is pretty good and the sleeper agent is an interesting method of looking at the traitor.

Given it is a scum role, I would let the scumteam choose when the activate it in the next edition, but put a time cap on it, such as no N1 activation, but must be activated by N3.

The scum had the misfortune of Titus being absurdly accurate on day one.Really quite impressed by that.~Drixx

You're letting Titus win the game by herself.Good luck now I guess. You have no chance to win.~Tywin

ChannelDelibird, I would have really enjoyed a role like the one Peacebringer had. It suits my playstyle very well and I think I would have enjoyed it a lot.

I wasn’t here very long in this game but I did enjoy it and this game was important to me while I was here. I needed a large distraction to fill my head with for a while and this game was large enough to help with that. And then getting nightkilled so soon helped with a confidence problem I was having so thanks for that too. Good game, everyone.
The failure mode of clever is asshole.
