Night 7

On that night, two Zen monks were wandering in the woods near Kyoto, contemplating the dark landscape and nature asleep, and meditating. They finally reached an Old Pond, lost somewhere among the weeping trees. The old waters of the Pond reflected the Perfect Full moon as clearly as a Chinese mirror, and the monks felt the inner peace and well-being that only Zen experts can aspire to.

'Tadeshi'

, the elder monk said.

'My mind is at peace here. The sky and the earth are as black as jade, the air and the water are as pure as thought itself. Every element is at its place. And look at these beautiful stones. Our monks could meditate here, by this Old Pond. We should build a Temple here.'

But just as he had finished speaking, a small, green frog emerged from
beneath a nearby bush. The frog looked at the two intruders, hesitated, and finally decided to negotiate.

'ribbit?'

'A frog? A slimy little frog? Here? What a pity. The site is not as pure as I had thought. We cannot build a Zen temple here.'

'ribbit?'

,insisted the frog.

'Perhaps we should come back tomorrow night, master?'

The Old monk Pondered by the Old Pond.

'Perhaps. Yes, let us do so.'

After the two monks left, the Zen stones quickly put an end to the life of the little frog who had shattered their dreams.

OK, first thoughts:

Why would the scum eliminate Nanook, who has been on the scum radar of some of us (certainly mine), and leave Dasquian alone? Dasquian has received little attention in terms of accusations I think.

It could be a trap, but the famous razor suggests that it is because Dasquian is one of the two remainig scum.

Right now I'm positive, absolutely positive that either DP or mathcam is scum. And whoever it is, they're leaving myself and the other one alive to point fingers at today, on what might be the last day. I've toyed with the idea that they're both scum, and they're doing this just to drive me nuts, but from their posts, I really really don't think they're working together. I can't decide who looks innocent, which sucks, because I'm sure one is. Maybe I'll read back through and see what turns up. I can't today, work is out of control, but I will soon.

Well I sure though Nanook was innocent, and I feel like other people agreed with me. Dasquian

While I agree in principle, I think

is scum is leaving the three of us alive so that we continue to point fingers at each other. On the other hand, if the scum is Ben and Dasquian, I think I'll have to punch myself in the head.

To answer your earlier question DP, my (fairly confident) guess is that Nanook was killed simply for being unlikely to be lynched given both mathcam and I vocally ranked him as being probably-innocent. Furthermore, I'm surprised you thought this was odd if you'd just done a reread, particularly since you then go on to fos me, further justifying why Nanook might've been killed and not me.

Which I did not do. Yet. But I agree with the statement that I was not right in my assumption that Nanook was suspected (except by me), this I have seen in scanning the posts by user yesterday evening.

It does blow my reason for the FOS out of the window, so for the moment:

I think my leading candidate is DP right now. On top of all the previous suspicion, the "I wonder why Nanook was killed?" question just seemed a little too falsely naive for my liking.
