Why are you against discussion? Why are the motivations for why we're doing things not relevent for determining alignment?

Tut tut, looks like I have to put up with someone erroneuosly calling me a whiner.

Regardless, I still stand by my point of having to get out of RVS sometime. As a clarification, when I say that I don't expect to accomplish anything until we are out of RVS and scumhunting, I mean that, in my experience, productive discussion (i.e. scumhunting) doesn't normally occur in RVS, especially in this stage of it. Counting the fact that we have absolutely nothing to go on since this is Day start, I imagine we won't be truly scumhunting for at least a couple of RL days.

Kills in the coming days/nights will obviously be an aid to us in finding potential scum, though we can't use that today (unless we have a dayvig), and that is partly why I don't scumhunt on Day 1 (or at least as well I would other days).

Everyone has to understand too (figured that this would be a good time to mention it) that you have to be able to tell the difference between noobs (there are bound to be some in here) and scum, which can be a difficult skill to master, but an important one nonetheless.

Right, I think that about does it with me for the night.

I am sad to see that you are at the point of competence where you know enough to think that you have a clear perspective on theory yet still cling to ideas such as "RVS exists". I'll be happy to continue this discussion after the game, but I fail to see much benefit in carrying on in this way right now.

Nevertheless I would like to see some actual analysis out of you.

What is your opinion on inHim? Do you think there is any valuable information to be gleaned from the Vas/Shea/me exchange? What's your take on post 41?

Richard, please read my post. Your attitude encourages us to stay in the RVS forever. Discussion and questions IS scumhunting. Everything that I've posted so far IS scumhunting. The RVS only exists if you decide that you're going to be random. We may not have the ability to make an informed lynch at this point in time but we DO have the ability to make some informed votes, and we definitely have the ability to make actions and ask questions that will lead us to informed voted. Your attitude is fatalistic.

For instance, InHim is giving me some really bad vibes. He's pushing the izzy wagon, but not really commenting on anything else in the game except to disparage discussions of theory, and to downplay any action that leads us towards information such as the discussion me and korts were having earlier when he called us "obv town." This doesn't sit well with me, and as such I'd like to

(Also, Out of game, if you complain about someone calling you a whiner with a post such as "tut tut, I have to

erroneously
calling me a whiner." you actually are whining, and are thus a whiner. Grow up, please. We're all big boys, and no one really cares that big bad korts was mean to you.

Honestly, if you're
that
sensitive about whining, you're the one that needs to grow up. Also, nullifying it by overexaggerating ("big bad korts was mean to you") is never a good way to go IMO.

I was stating a fact whilst expressing my distaste for someone calling me whining when I'm not. That's hardly whining.

So what prompted this post then?

What's your thoughts on the izzy wagon?

What do you make of TSQ and Korts?

mipe, was the (failed) vote for Anon serious or not? If it was serious, what makes you think it was a good choice? Please quote sections of his posts.

I'm not anti-discussion, but against anything that lets scum hide in the opening stages of the game when they can be very vulnerable to slips. You know, accountable for actions and not theories.

And I've done more than promote the izzywagon and calling you and Korts obvtown. ):

Don't like this post. In the opening stages of the game, discussing things that have slight relation of the game leads to discussing things that have direct relation to the game, as it has done right here with my vote. Calling it theory crafting is a very subtle way of poisoning the wells of the people doing it. It's akin to saying "Don't pay attention to what's going on, it's just useless theory crafting." which is not helpful at best and scumtastic at worst.

Also don't like the appeal to emotion when defending yourself. What have you don't besides that? Don't just play sad.

Like my vote.

Did anyone else see this? How is not scumhunting productive? Obviously no one will have as good an idea Day 1 as they do each next Day but that shouldn't stop you from trying

Well, scumhunting is good, because is they accidentally do something wrong, we know who the scum is. So Richard?

Someone accidentally doing something wrong is NOT scumhunting.

There seems to be an overall misunderstanding of what scumhunting is in this game. Also, Ksun, original observations please.
