Mind Screw Gaiden

A world without rules. Well, more likely, without the seen rules. Maybe one should be prudent in a world like that. Maybe, in a world like that, one should stay on the path. There is no reason to leave it, especially since one does not know what is out there...

Rules

<0> The first rule is that I can't tell you the other rules.
<14> When you die, stop posting. You may make a single "Bah!"/"Frak you!"/etc. post in the thread. You may not include game content in this post. In addition, once you are dead, you are NOT released from the game. This rule is immune to rule 0.

The "Mind Screw Mafia 3" Frequently Asked Questions

1) What the fuck is going on here?

That's a very good question, isn't it?

2) What do you mean, you can't tell me any of the other rules?

Surely you know about this by now.

3) So should I assume that there aren't any rules at all?

Not necessarily. I recommend you look up a little piece of philosophy called Pascal's Wager. It might be somewhat relevant to this situation. Also, check your history again.

4) But you're not God!

No, apparently I'm a Serial Killer.

5) Will you at least tell us how many votes it is to lynch?

Did I not say that I cannot tell you any of the other rules?

6) When is our deadline?

Once again, I would like to remind you that I cannot tell you any of the other rules. Don't worry, only a bastard Mod would let a deadline sneak up on you without any warning... while requiring a full majority for a lynch...and having a role that kills people who get prods.

... hmm, maybe you should lynch really, really quickly.

7) I saw your ruleset in Mind Screw Mafia 3. Can I assume that your rules here are similar?

You couldn't of seen the ruleset of Mind Screw 3, the rules are not yet revealed.

8) I am the moderator of Mind Screw Mafia 3. Can I assume that your rules here are the same?

Maybe. Probably. But would you want to reveal your rules here?

9) What the heck is this "Rules Infraction" I see added onto my post?

It might be an indicator that you screwed up and broke the rules somehow. It might be the result of a game mechanic. It might, in fact, be the same mechanic that appeared in both previous Mind Screw Mafia games.

Or, it might be that your Mod is a bastard Mod and is just placing "Rules Infraction" at the end of random posts.

I'd count on the second.

10) Why are you not allowed to tell us any of the other rules?

Oh come on, you should know who your dealing with right now.

11) Does your inability to answer that question have anything to do with the card game Mao?

The history would say yes. But, are you sure?

12) So, I have a night action. When should I send it in to you?

Reread your role PM, please. I sincerely doubt that your ability is supposed to be sent in at night. Especially not given that Tar's last five games have all been Twilight setups.

13) What is this ability called "Ultimate: XXXX" that appears in your role PM?

Your mixing up your Mind Screw Mafia 3 and Mind Screw Gaiden roles. MSG has no Ultimates.

14) Are you sure you can't tell me the rules?

Yes. I'd hate to have to send you away this early.

15) Why is rule 14 not blocked?

So you people understand that your commitment to this game does not end once you die.

Well, since I confirmed when I first got my role, and there is a votecount up already, I'm gonna assume that the game has started.

vote: Natirasha

2 Reasons:

1. Mind screw requires a mod wagon every time because I said so (preferably to a lynch)
2. Nat seems to both have a vote, and have claimed SK already. Good ol' Nat.

Mod wagon ftw.

I think the mod wagon may lead to a punisher type of role's activation.

But I doubt FoS'es may lead to the same effect.

Probably, but I'm assuming that Nat is not a Jester bomb. And if he is, at least I wasn't that late on the wagon :P.

What are the odds of finding a jester in a mini game?
Ill bite.

Screw it, I'll have to take what I expect is a Rules Infraction for posting during Confirmation Stage.

I take it I'm the only person with rolebased that says that Natirasha-lynch is a very bad idea? Unvote him. NOW.

Tar, only 4-5 players have posted.
Unvote.

Explain yourself.

I have three pieces of, to use the term from my own games, inside information. One of these is that flesh/metal seems to be a mechanic. The second I shall keep to myself for the time being - know that I will likely be asking for an origin claim when Day 1 begins. The third is that the Mod has implicitly threatened unspecified bad things - at least to me and quite possibly to other players - if the Mod is lynched.

(He didn't say anything about vigging, though...)

The flesh metal mechanic from his Serum and Steel game? Wonderful. Actually, that could be wonderful assuming that scum don't get targetted.
Tar wrote: The third is that the Mod has implicitly threatened unspecified bad things - at least to me and quite possibly to other players - if the Mod is lynched.
Threats are threats. I'm willing to risk it.

Oh, and /confirm would not have been a bad idea.

I didn't play it. So I don't remember the specifics. But I believe it involved being metal makes you unkillable with some negative effect, whereas being flesh was normal? I dunno, ask Nat, if he's willing to tell. Or read the game.

Also, I made a mistake with the rules. Fixing it now.

Confirming in-thread, now that I can.

It's almost five o'clock EST. It's Miller Time.
Vote: Vi

Vi's a Serial Killer.

...or at least, that's what Natirasha and a passive part of my role would have you believe.
Unvote: Vi

I received a piece of info in my Role PM, but I don't think it would be good to divulge it right now.

-----

Serum and Steel's metal/flesh mechanic went something like this--

Metal players cannot be killed by lynches, night-kills, vigs, or anything else (unless that "anything else" ignores this sentence altogether... um, anyway). Metal players can undergo some process (voted by a majority to be mycosynthed, in that game) to become flesh and thus confirmably vulnerable. Attempting to lynch a metal player would result in No Lynch.

-----

Natirasha loses several untold thousands of originality points for the mod posts so far.

-----

I'm curious, since nobody's votes are going through.

Actually, I'm just a worse mod a doing vote counts than Tar. And that's saying something.

Of course, the mod could be pulling a red-herring on me... hope not, that would make me a sad panda.

He's even stealing my "mod hint in vote count" tendencies.
(Also, silly Nat, that unrevealed rule could be dealt with by PM to dead players and MeMe instead of revealing the role. )

Worse vote counts than ME? I'm sorry, I can't believe you there on the grounds that it is not possible to have worse vote counts than me.

... Okay, maybe it is, see Norinel's title for starters...
