Whoa there. He said "appears to have brought". Nothing that the random stage is over definitively.

And self-votes are a little odd. And odd things should be looked at. Just like freak shows.

Are you suggesting that someone cannot look at a beginning section of a game and note the abundance of purely "random" votes while simultaneously looking at another section of a game and note the lack of the purely "random" votes?

Are you really criticizing someone for saying "Look everyone, it looks like people aren't using "random" as an excuse to vote!"

Also, what difference does it make if someone says "Hey everyone, we're out of the voting phase?" Hell, I'll say it right now:

Hey folks! Guess what? We have officially moved beyond the voting phase. Now, this little "go between" of pure random and logical-based sections of voting is a bit squishy, and we can expect to see votes to be based off of reason that won't really hold any weight in (game) days to come (or, even later on today in Day One). However, it's a necessary yet painful process for this game to develop and mature... much like your own, personal experiences with puberty. Nobody likes it, but it's something you weather to get to bluer skies. But, it's official: The random voting stage is dead! Let's try to raise the bar, folks.

Jumping the gun a little there, aren't we? When people actually start talking, and stop joking about/random voting, it generally seems the random vote stage is over. And that is what I was pointing out. I didn't say "Random vote stage is over. Be serious or else!"

And self-votes aren't exactly normal behaviour, and you don't see them every day. Hence, I said that it was something to look at.

Sorry I happened to like the joke about my name being something sushi-ish. Random voting should be silly, as it breaks the ice for people who haven't met in a game before. I honestly find it bothersome people reacted that strong.

Just to satisfy my curiosity: can someone provide any empirical evidence that the fact one has self-voted during the random vote stage makes one more likely to be scummy?

(1)And who are you to call whether or not the random voting stage is over? (2)And why is the self-vote something to look at?
1. Who are you to say it is continuing? Who are you to withhold information from the town by preventing someone from actually encouraging serious (=pro-town) posts?
2. How about it's the
only
thing we can look at? Again, who are you to withhold that incy wincy tiny little clue from the town?

I absolutely cannot stand people with this behavior, it's so scummy (especially early day 1, when things get magnified) that it almost tilts my scum radar.
unvote vote Seraphim

What? Why do you find it bothersome that people take a incy wincy tiny little scum tell to get even the slightest bit of information to catch scum? Why, maybe because you're Seraphim's scumbuddy!

So yea just reading back, I don't really see a problem with the self vote, by RBT during the "random voting stage".

I really don't get:
Ser wrote:And who are you to call whether or not the random voting stage is over? And why is the self-vote something to look at?
I mean..surely ending the random stage is good, yea?
And self voting is unusal, it's hardly surprising people wish to look into it.

I find myself agreeing with sir's point against RBT above, in that it's well strange that she finds it "bothersome" that people would react to that?
Don't people usually react to self votes? So I don't see why you'd think it out of the norm really.

Anyway the funeral is tomorrow so I should be back to full acess then :)

I strongly agree with sirdanilot's comments about Seraphim. While i do enjoy the random voting stage, it generally provides little to no information and it's best to get out of it as soon as possible. It seems like he's very hesitant to move out of the random voting stage.

Yes, I would also like to know if you're a she, RBT. I don't want to keep going like s/he or him/her when I refer to you (Jebus too). ;)

I would also like to know why s/he self-voted, too. Are you some sort of suicidal jester, cause I can't see

. 118 + 122 aided in this decision.

Not too happy with Seraph voting. Knee-jerk reaction is that he said something anti-town. Which he did. That doesn't necessarily make it scum, just anti-town. It would seem to me voting him is just too easy, which would be perfect for lazy town or scum.
