Which is more demeaning?

1) Being told you're beautiful (when in reality you may be slightly above average  ).

2) Being told you're downright unnatractive in an effort to stop people from focussing on physical appearance.

Well, anyone is entitled to their opinion. But why object to someone telling a girl they're pretty?

Please point out to me when I called anyone ugly?

Don't say "Lol, he said a range of options which included downright ugly but didn't link it to any specific person. lol" because thats a complete distortion of what I said.

I think it's funny how two people voted the stupid option. I wonder which two?

People, you have to learn that its a cool thing to admit you are wrong instead of keeping pushing it.

I don't think 1 is demeaning. Everyone has a different view of the term 'beautiful'. Some may think you're beautiful, but definitly not all. I think that everyone knows this. Eventhough one say you're beautiful, but doesn't mean it, it actually feels good to hear it (until you find out that he didn't mean it).

So I voted 2.

I refuse to vote in a poll which has absolutely no bearing on the real issue at hand and where the two options are misrepresentations of the sides of the discussion. If you think it is "obvious" who voted for what, you should really think again.

And to make a new post deriving from a discussion in a separate thread, but to manufacture this new discussion centered around a misconstruction of the issue that was at hand is deceitful and a poor fallacy. Strawmanning, perchance. To claim some sort of victory in that scenario is foolhardy and incorrect.

So, while we're talking about things we find humorous,
I
think it's funny how this thread was made not in an attempt to further the conversation that was being had in another thread, but as some sort of cathartic attempt to force people into accepting that your position is right by shifting the fundamentals of the discussion entirely. Absolutely hilarious.

I'm really trying to be honest about how I saw things go down, not force people to accept my position.

I haven't seen one good explanation for why tajo saying someone is beautiful is somehow bad or wrong. I haven't seen one good explanation for how saying "most of the girls who post in this thread are downright unnatractive" is not an insult.

My point is that Shea has some problem with tajo and others telling a girl she's pretty. While making his point, he said most of the girls in the thread are unattractive. That is a far bigger insult.

Shea was pointing out the creepiness of tajo and others while stating his own opinion as to why their behaviour is creepy. Insult being a byproduct.

You might do well to actually learn the context of something before you go off all insulted and trying to SHOW HOW HIS SIDE OF THE ISSUE IS BAD.

And that is your subjective opinion. Much like how Shea thinking the majority of girls on this site are unattractive is his own subjective opinion. You agree that everyone has their right to an opinion, right?

THERE WAS NO FUCKING REASON TO GENERALIZE PEOPLE.

He could say : "I said no names" in a coward attempt to avoid responsibility but there was no reason to say people commenting on nice pics of a girl are sexually frustrated and that the majority of the girls of the site are ugly.

Even more, there was no reason to call me virgin nerd that jacks off with alpacas (LOL).´I find these things hilarious but Shea did it with other obvious intentions.

This only to show you the kind of person you are defending regardless of the situation.

I won't vote in this poll, because it's not a good representation of the choices at all. In fact I think it's rather odd to call someone "beautiful" or "downright unattractive" in conversation at all.

You take offense at being called a virgin - yep, you def. are one. You spend a large portion of your time on the internet - that makes you a nerd. So two out of three are true.
