@Plum - I can understand your feelings about town having Nobby/Vimes/Carrot/angua - but Colon IS quite a major character, in the first book(s) especially. The lovers COULD have had one as a fakeclaim, the idea of them both being town & unconfirmed was to sort of WIFOM them into not trusting each other.
But, the town did play well.
