Well, of course I can't really debunk that theory since I wouldn't know. I will state I'm TRYING to be less angry though, since it doesn't get a whole lot done. So, while that tell might work at first I think that it will slowly apply less and less as I get better at controlling myself.

To be fair, I don't place much value on bodyguard and overall tried to forget I was one.

Here are my general thoughts on the Game –

To those questioning the Miller without a Cop in the set-up –

Kdub and I decided in the design phase that we wanted the set-up to punish ‘stereotypical’ speculation on both sides about what must be included in a set-up.

1. Having a Miller was intended to make the Mafia worry about a non-existent Cop.
2. Having the scum include a JOAT and Jailkeeper was intended to punish Town if they blindly assumed that those roles are automatically Town roles in the case of a claim (which never happened anyway for those players).

I’m surprised at the negative reaction Tan’s role-claim got. The Serial Killer speculation was very interesting given that we only had 1 flip Day 1 and it was a Bodyguard.

Certain players made this game too much of a cake-walk for the Mafia.

Zwet I’m going to address this directly – You are blacklisted from any game I run in the future. Your play was so UTTERLY anti-Town in my mind you stopped playing to your win condition. Other players may have played poorly but in my opinion you completely undermined your side’s chances at victory and thus 8 other player’s enjoyment of the game.

I hope you have all enjoyed the flavor. Any and all grammatical problems with flavor should be attributed to me and me alone.

Thanks for letting me co-Mod this Kdub. I appreciated the experience.

Pretty much Geriatric game restricted at this point ... unless there are players I REALLY want to play with.

It's your prerogative, of course, but bear in mind that I gambited because I was convinced he was scum, not to screw with the town.

Mod-WIFOM. I told you in the QT that I wouldn't put it past Kdub/MoI to put a miller in a non-cop game just to throw us off.

I'm ok with posting our scum chat.

This game doesn't feel as rewarding as my other scum wins. Town was debilitated by poor players.

Thanks mods, I felt it was a pretty good setup.

Well, aside from the game being a complete disaster, I'll say the mods were both very good, the flavor was pretty cool throughout, and I thought the setup was fine:There really isn't anything youcan do when the town is so bad that two players become obious lynch targets(MPR, zwet), and then one of those two is so bad they fake claim cop to pretty munch insure another player is gone, who had already claimed a townie role and wasn't lying.

Basically, I agree about the zwet thing, and will be happy if I'm never in another game with him. Not just because of the gambit, but even outside of that I just don't see how his playstyle could benefit town. I know I also need to improve, but now in both my completed non-newbie games I've had teammates who really cost us, so it's like I haven't had a fair chance yet.

Anyway, good game otherwise, wish I could have done more as Simon.

Hmmph, my scumdar isn't so much terrible so much as it is chaotic. I tend to hit or miss in huge ways. Either I'm catching most of the scum or none of them. It seems rare I only catch one or two. And it progresses throughout the game, of course.

This game was just missing :V.

MPR wasn't that bad. I really don't get from a town point of view why you guys would've went for MPR lynch... As town I would've lynched zwet right there and then.

@UK: I think dram was the one who I got my impression off of if you want someone to hunt down :D

My thoughts on the game:

As Magna pointed out, one of the things we tried to do in creating the setup was to punish certain assumptions made by both the town and scum. Including a miller certainly got discussion started among the scum team about a cop. A bodyguard was used instead of a doc mainly for balance purposes. The scum had a jailkeeper instead of a roleblocker to make them think there was a vig (and there actually was), and because town might be more likely to believe a jailkeeper claim than a roleblocker claim. The role absorber was an interesting role that unfortunately didn't get utilized in this game. I was thinking that by softclaiming, tans might have gotten the scum to jailkeep or role investigate him, and he would have learned those abilities, but he was forced to claim his full role early, which prevented that.

The scum team played well, and were able to keep everyone fooled until the very end. I don't think LMP was a serious suspect at any point (this is becoming a trend in my games), and Katsuki and VV were able to paint various town players as scummy without drawing a huge amount of suspicion themselves. They always seemed to be in that "might be the last scum, but I'm not quite sure" zone for most people.

While I won't take a hard-line stance against having zwet in my future games, I think the cop gambit was ill-advised at best. zwet essentially took the game into his own hands and risked an almost certain loss on the bet of catching one scum. Even if he had been right about Coach Travis, that just evens the odds at best. Also, if there had been a real cop in the game, zwet could have easily outed them.

As to whether I would consider this game a success, I think I'm undecided because I don't think we really got the opportunity to see how things would have played out under normal circumstances. I was pretty happy with the overall activity level, and D1 was interesting to follow at least. I'm glad that the players seem to think it was a fun setup, so I guess in that respect, it was a successful game.

Thanks Magna for helping to design the setup and writing the flavor text.

@Katsuki: Dram is a fucking moron. Sorry, but he is. He's REALLY one to talk about terrible scumdar when he hardly plays the damn game. I mean, seriously, he's VI level. He is, however, a decent mod.

Not really hate so much as retaliation for spreading patently untrue things about me. Well, mostly untrue, anyway. Especially from a position of hypocrisy. Dram's a nice person but I kinda have problems with libel.
