Everyone needs to bold their own answer. I'm sure there's bound to be disagreements. :) I think it will be a good idea to see which players never choose the same categories. After all, mafia will try to maximize their chances to get a kill. As soon as we have suspects through that we can ask groups not to answer questions and see if we can stop kills.

Glad I picked fire! Can't believe we lucked out with a Reality TV question! The first candidate fired was named David Gould, the geeky looking one with the glasses. (LOVE that show!)

ANSWER: DAVID GOULD

Answer: David Gould

Mgm, the mafia will probably not do that once you mentioned it. Oh well. It was a good idea. It's always a paradox. If you have some good idea to expose the mafia and reveal it to the public, the mafia will do something else. Unless the guy with the idea is a mason.

Hmmm. . . Some German city would seem to be the right way to go about it, but I'm not for sure. Then again, would the zeppelin have been able to make it all the way across the Atlantic?

My thoughts exactly. I think it was built by a German, but I don't think it crossed the Atlantic.

I don't mind if they don't spread across the categories. All the more chance they fail to perform their kill if they don't know the answer.

Justinl, can you explain where your answer came from?

i watched a show on zeppelins a while ago,

I think they were able to fly around the world without landing, so I definitely think a zeppelin could've crossed the atlantic.

I think the Zeppelin was made in Germany because it was filled with hydrogen gas(germany couldn't get any of the helium America made)

Hmm, knew 1 and 4, but TV/movie questions is one of my worst categories. I'll follow justin:
answer: army of darkness (evil dead 3)

We need to be smarter about this whole "trivia" thing, guys. It doesn't matter, cause you guys already blindly rushed into answering, but tomorrow let's take a little time to think about the implications first, all right?

I'll wait to see if anyone has a conflicting answer on the Earth question, I have no clue.

i googled it, then cross-referenced by going to IMDB, looking up the movie and clicking on memorable quotes, searching the page for necktie.. it shows up, with a slightly different spelling

Since we're not allowed to vote, that's definitely worth a vote tomorrow if Fuldu doesn't modkill you. The rules explicitly forbid us to google after the questions have been posed to us.

But since you seem to be sure.
Answer: Army of Darkness (evil dead 3)

I agree with Locus, we should do something to try and incapacitate the mafia tomorrow.

Googling for the answer was not really what should have happened
The rules wrote: Once trivia questions have been posted, no outside research is allowed until the answers have been posted. Obviously I can’t check that you’re behaving in a sportsmanlike manner in this regard, but I can’t check that you aren’t talking with your scum teammates during the day or with your mafiascum friends in real life about the game, either. If your self esteem is so caught up in winning a game on this forum that you’re going to stoop to cheating, you might want to consider some professional help.

If feasible, justinl should be modkilled and the question replaced with another in the same category.

justin, what do you think this is, a googling competition?

In a fit of pique at having his rules circumvented, REGIS overloads a workstation near justinl, which explodes in a fiery ball, killing him instantly. The questions disappear from REGIS briefly, to be replaced with this message:

Please wait while question database is accessed...

After a few minutes, the questions return, and
EARTH
has been replaced with:

EARTH: In the computer game
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
, players track Carmen and her henchmen across the nations of the Earth. What is the name of the organization Carmen and her henchmen form?

Players assigned to EARTH, in deference to the unusual circumstances, will be allowed to change any existing answers at this time, despite the rule that claims all answers are final.

Although you are upset that justinl has died, you realize that he might have been one of the saboteurs. There's no time now, but you'll probably want to remember to check his living quarters after you've awakened from stasis.

justinl (Unknown), has been modkilled Day Zero.

Mod Note
: Seriously, people. I asked you to read the rules. Trivia questions that aren't simple to answer using Google are really, really difficult to write, and I'm devoting a lot of time and effort to this as it is. The evidence of the other categories suggests that my difficulty balance here is about right, so I'd like to trust that we'll be able to get through this without further difficulties. If you haven't already ready the rules, take this as a warning of the dangers you're facing.

Also, does this make me the only MS mod ever to modkill somebody during a Prologue?

I, uh, played the

Dmi wrote:Well, the mafia probably need only one person to carry out the kill. If a group with a question doesn't have an answer, then that is more likely to hurt the town rather than the mafia.
Based on this thinking (which was similar to my own anyway) I'll toss out some answers here. My response to my own category is in bold:

Air: The final flight departed from Berlin to New York/New Jersey. However, this was not the
first
voyage. The first major voyage was to Rio de Janeiro (though I don't remember whether it left from Frankfurt or from Berlin) and it had done numerous smaller trips within Germany and various other locations in the previous year for propaganda reasons. So based on the suspected interpretation of the question, I'd say Berlin, but Fuldu might want to check his wording...

Earth: I believe the organization that she forms is VILE, but I don't remember for sure. I do remember that the detective agency is ACME though...

Fire: No clue on this one, haven't seen anything of The Apprentice beyond the previews...

Water: And finally, decompression sickness ("the bends") is caused by an excess of
Nitrogen
dissolved in the water in the diver's body...
