booting it up now... two things... I have it on "idle" priority so my computer actully can run with it on... and B) I'm going to do the rest of this minimalist style... just posting what I did, why I did it, what happened, what I did about it. not in character

I'll keep the dates as true as I can but this will probably go a little slow so bare with me...

Catch-up time!
I played a while after my last post it's now early in slate.

A recap:
I'm killing cats to save on FPS and to provide more meat to the dwarfs. a couple of donkeys, a bull, and a horse also met the butcher..
I didn't trust in the cage traps enough and locked a mason in the lowest z-level in someone's room. I forgot up til now and he's been in there for about 3 weeks. No food, no water. Thankfully I figured it out and he is getting a drink now.
'Nikki' had a kid.
Moved the meeting area into the meeting hall. People were getting caught in the snow.
Making a big food stockpile so at least I know where all the food is.

Question: Where are the barracks?

14th of Slate.

The guy from the mountainhomes finally talks and we have ourselves a barony. I choose a random peasent, the guy I choose and 'Nikki' for recommends.

ARTIFACT: Clear tormuline, w/ spikes of tormuline. guy who did it is a legendary miner.

Ceiling project finished! I extended the ceiling all the way to just short of the ramps leading to the bridge.

DOH I FERGOT WE HAD A MIGRATION... +20 bringing us up to 82.

They've named 'Nikki' the baroness. Grats! Now I have to babysit you FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!... Moving you to a different spot/making your bedroom proper now.

CATCH UP!

First some guy has with drawn from society. Crafts shop so I expect nothing. Also elves. Not killing them.... this time
Scratch that, mason shop has been taken over... maybe it'll be a cool door.

Had the meeting hall/area smoothed and engraved.

Also, I dug a stair case from Nikki's old room to some more caverns. I didn't extend to the floor of said cavern because I don't know whats down there.
Good thing too, as I have been just notified of a FB: Valkun Tholos, Gigantic scaly Tarantula. A short horn, only a few periwinkle scales and a poisonous bite. Also, squirming and fidgeting. He has to overcome cage traps and a z-level of air to get to the fort... I won't build any more staircases staircases. Easy.

Also, made a big stone stockpile. Get some of the stone out of the rooms.

It's the 7th of Hematite BTW.

Mysterious construction began. Hoping for a cool door or something.

CONSTRUCTION FINISHED.... A flood gate... made of gabbro, encrusted with opals, encircled by bands of coal and pine. It has rings of rope reed fiber and spikes of rope reed fiber... lol... Also has a image of a blazing sun. worth 21,300 dwarfbucks... yeah.

He became a legendary mason. cool.

Autumn rolls around, first thing... Nikki gets so depressed that she goes into melancholy. Good news partially. I rid myself of a Noble BY HER OWN HANDS! Bad news she's carrying a kid... yay. And why? Because her room was yet to be engraved... Thats all it needed to become "decent" BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO SHE THINKS IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD BECAUSE SHE DON'T HAVE PREDDY PICTURES TO LOOK AT!... Shit Nikki, Get it together.

In other less interesting news... crafts shop got took over... and he's gathering wood... FML

OH HANG ON! As she went insane her husband carved a masterwork engraving. Depicts "Grumf" Nobletomb being promoted to Military commander. It's called "The shady tumor"... Is he blaming...? oh shi-... oh another master engraving right next to it.. Called "The Liberation of honey" Refers to the founding of Shipfist. So it might nothing.

Trogs won't keep quiet down in the caverns so my militia shut them up. 5 fell to my axes. no one has been hurt even when the ambush came, no one got seriously injured. only 4 people... THIS SQUAD ROX.
