Also, Magna is being extremely modest in not nominating himself for that very game.

AndriusforMost Improved Player- He's come a long way from when I first played with him.
Read his play in the Abandoned Prison Mafia.
Then read his play in Blackest Night Mafia.
It would not be a stretch to think those games were two completly different players. In Blackest Night he effectively used his role to detect multiple scum and despite pretty much claiming PR Day 1 he survived to the endgame. I think he's becoming a vastly underrated player.
xRECKONERxforBest Mafia Catcher- in that game Day 1 he correctly identified the one complete scum-team (and helped drive the lynch on their Godfather role).

The town didn't win because the game was broken. 5/5 scumlynches plus smart NA use and they still didn't win. How is that setup balanced?
I won't Nth MoI's because he had so much of an inherent advantage that I can't tell whether he actually won due to any merit of his own. In fact, I'm pretty sure RC only made that nom because in any not broken setup, if a CR had done what MoI did it would be an achievement. But town had no idea to even look for a cult until one just HAPPENED to die.-

No talking about ongoing games...
As the mod of the game they are talking about, I feel it is worth noting that he did not flake, he requested replacement (his slot is dead so I don't think this is giving anything away)
He explained his reasons in the PM and I have no issue with him, it happens to everyone.
that said:Nth andrius for most improved-

Feel free to shut up about things about which you know relatively nothing. Smart NA use, my @$$. You weren't even in the game.gandalf5166 wrote:The town didn't win because the game was broken. 5/5 scumlynches plus smart NA use and they still didn't win. How is that setup balanced?
Plus, "lynching scum" is not enough when there are 10/25 scum in the game at the start. In this game, you had to lynch the right scum before it was too late. Unfortunately, nobody did anything against Magna except a redirect by Kast. After N5, it was too late. That is plenty of time.
Just because the game was different than what you areThat is just something you have heard other people say because they were butthurt about losing, so you are parroting what they say in hopes that you'll look like you know what you're talking about. Well let me inform you otherwise: "Broken" would be something like Werewolf Wisborg Asylum where Town ended up with a 9:1 endgame scenario and had 7 cleared townies. So again, kindly shut up about things about which you know nothing.usedto expecting, does not mean it's "broken".
Again you show your ignorance. Now not only were you not even IN the game, you didn't even READ it either. If you had even read half of Magna's performance (and had half a brain) you'd be agreeing with me without question. Magna had worse luck than anyone else in the game and was still able to pull things out with pure skill.gandalf5166 wrote:I won't Nth MoI's because he had so much of an inherent advantage that I can't tell whether he actually won due to any merit of his own. And again, if you have any questions you'd like to ask about anything, feel free to ask. Information is tech.Show"Take me to Pleasure Town!" "Look, the most Glorious Rainbow Ever!" "Do me on it!" -

Don't argue that it was a balanced Mafia game and acknowledge that lynching scum every day isn't good enough to win in the same post. Space it out a bit so we don't see it all at once. And it sounds like you're pretty sensitive about how it turned out but there's no need to throw a bitchfit in the Scummies thread about it. Gandalf hardly seems to have been out of line.-

Ythan made a three-line post o.o Though he had good reason to.Ythan wrote:Don't argue that it was a balanced Mafia game and acknowledge that lynching scum every day isn't good enough to win in the same post. Some free advice, RC. By continuing to call out essentially your entire playerlist as ignorant of how to play Mafia on at least three different levels rather than suggesting that this game might not have been a good idea, you're losing whatever fans you may have had before and making lots of enemies. Since conceding what everyone is already saying doesn't seem to be an option, your next best choice is to just let it drop before you do even more damage to your reputation.
You can take that or leave it, but not taking that advice would have a strong impact on how much I go out of my way to downrate you and everything you touch in the future.Everything you say and do matters. People will respond in ways you may never see. May those responses be what you intend.-

I know I'm going back, but I did want to say this:
In theory, Magna is right. You can play a really really good game and still lose, and that might be worthy of a nomination.
But the truth is that in most categories (specifically the player awards) we have a lot of good nominations, and it does to some extent make sense to pare the list down almost automatically to those who actually win. We used to have "best performance in a lost cause" category that I miss.
Put it this way: the MVP of the Super Bowl is never on the losing team (to my knowledge)..-

Properly put in my place, I will point out that was the only time, and it was in Super Bowl V, 39 years ago when the league was super young. If I wanted to abuse the phrase, I could say it's the "exception that proves the rule.".-

Maybe premature as the thread hasn't really gotten a lot of replies yet. But it's already a great start towards changing sitewide cop-playing meta for the better.Show"Take me to Pleasure Town!" "Look, the most Glorious Rainbow Ever!" "Do me on it!" -
