I'm not sure if this is a spoiler for you or not, but it's possible the meteor landed on a floating island. You might want to start exploring the sky.

Update 2: Right when I found a meteor, the eye of cthulhu spawned again... Why does it keep attacking me? Don't I have to summon it first?

Rolling a mix of Copper, Iron, Silver, and Gold gear xD

Found my World's Dungeon on the Far Left (ocean far)

And corruption well over on the right, not sure if it's ocean or not, I died about half way across.

Update: I now have a full set of Shadowscale Armour, a Space Gun, Phaseblade, Starfury, Nightmare Pick (Demonite), and a Meteor Hamaxe. With a Red Balloon, Cloud in a Bottle, Lucky Horseshoe, Hermes Boots, Rocket Boots, Depth Meter, Gold Watch, and Obsidian Skull. (obv not all equipped at once.)

Killed Eye of Cthulu once, Eater of Worlds five times so fair. Died to skeletron earlier today. >_<

Update II: Killed Skeletron, Explored Dungeon, Been to hell, have a hellstone Hamaxe, 2/3 of a Hellstone Armour set.

Not sure if I agree, UA. I think he actually does need to dig deeper. You are right in the sense that digging deeper is not simply digging down, but also exploring the caves to see how you can get as low as possible with the least ammount of effort. But in the upper levels, this still means a lot of digging.

Yeah, look for already cleared caves that the game generated, and just follow them down.
