I dunno, quotes are sacred...it's funny but it's easier when the quotes aren't tampered with or if you mark the parts you tampered with.

j/k. It's just now that that is 2 out of the last three. Must be a popular time for people to be on. :D

Iammers: Misetings, for one, although they're more a humor site that happens to run large mafia games.

It figures, Iammars, since we're bantering back and forth with our lateral puzzles...

And I would guess Footballguys would be another, being as that's where BJ came from. I believe.

I don't seem to remember misetings changing the meanings of the quotes.

Hey, I have an idea, lets babble about changing quotes or making jokes and not get any information or play mafia. Who's with me? Ooh wait...While we're at it we can ignore the fact that big_kahunia, Astronaut, Pie_is_good, olio, rolandofthewhite, and Yoko Kurama haven't posted, and we can ignore the few people that random voted then left. Sorry, but I sign up for a game to play mafia, not mess around, thats for the general discussion.

OMG! It hasn't even been
12 hours
now, and people haven't posted! Stop the presses! Call the SWAT team! This looks like a job for Superman!

Mafia's a game. Games are fun. Talking is fun whether it's discussing game play or lightening the mood.

And on top of that, all you've said is that people haven't shown up yet. I don't see your insightful mafia insight.

unvote, vote Sycko

Hey sycko .. take a chill pill.

Let's not forget that this game only started like 8 hours ago, so most likely people haven't really even had the chance to post yet, let alone more then once. Some of us just have more free time on our hands then others ..

As for the joking and all, it is day 1, lighten up .. It's not like there is an entirity of info that we can talk about anyways, considering the game started with day and the setup is pretty much explanatory in some aspects.

I really haven't seen any evidence of the much-prattled-about superlative level of IS's playskill. Vote stays.

Before we get too close to lynching someone, we should probably discuss how we want to handle claims and defenses. I'm a bit scared of this game breaking if we handle this normally, and I really don't want to see that happen. I signed up to play, not to win on a setup technicality.

(And for those who doubt my sincerity here, check out Hobbit Mafia, where I figured out the game was broken early on and reiterated several times that we shouldn't just break it by mass claiming. And I was town.)

It's our duty to break the game, if possible. We're playing to win, after all.

Having just played RPS, I say "great" to this idea. You can learn a lot about someone's allegiances based on how they vote...

Perfectly happy with my vote for now, but I'd like a count, too. You seem to have created a monster, Andrew...

Oh noes! People haven't voted in 12 hours!!?! I've played with IS both as scum and as town before, I'm willing to chance him staying alive longer than BJ.

But in this game, it's likely to come down to a coin flip. Whichever side (black or white) has the lead tomorrow can break the game wide open. I don't want the game determined by such a lack of skill.

maybe, except I'm guessing mafia on both sides don't know who is who any more then we do. So we could just as easily have TWO kills on one side, plus whichever color the serial killer(s) end up killing. If bnoth colors have a serial killer and/or a vig, we could conceivably have a shift of up to 4 per night....

Yaw: Given that there are 16 pawns, I think the scum can claim pawn fairly easily, and it would take forever to fully root them out. And a mass claim would not only reveal the power roles to the scum, but presumably color for opposing sides, at least for some roles (king, queen, whichever pieces are masons, since the mod implied that there were some).

Iammers: Believe me, they do it all the time.

Don't be surprised if a black piece claims white and vice versa.

Sigh...

See, that's what could happen if this were played
normally
, which misses my point entirely. (Although assuming a SK is quite interesting when there's no evidence for or against one...)

The point is that tomorrow, if there were a mass roleclaim, whichever colour was in the lead would win. I'm trying to get people to think about how to avoid situations like that. What sort of information is safe to claim, and when, so that the game doesn't break early.

You know something we don't about SKs in this game?
