"Bite to the left! Claw to the right! Break bones, Crush skulls, Fight, fight, fight!"

Yep, that's right, it's Werewolf. You were expecting perhaps a nice civilized Organized Crime family disturbing the peace in your small town of Garulphos? Wishful thinking; how about a pack of raging werewolves that look
just like you
during the daylight. Let the moon come up, however, and hoo boy...there's gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight!

Alive and well (4):
  • Werebear
    (replacing milkman)
    , Alpha Werewolf (Godfather);
  • PookyTheMagicalBear, Delta Werewolf & Lover;
  • BabyJesus
    (replacing Locus Cosecant)
    , Epsilon Werewolf;
  • draygn_mage, a Villager & Lover, is alive...for now.
Dead and decidedly not well (18):
  • Internet Stranger, an Herbalist of Garulphos (wolfsbane), was torn to pieces Night One.
  • brushhopper, a Villager (townie), was lynched on Day One.
  • mneme, a Gypsy from the area (cop), was massacred Night Two.
  • esme, a Villager (townie), was hung by a lynch mob on Day Two.
  • CoolBot, a Villager and Virgin pure-of-heart (martyr), was torn apart in the streets Night Three.
    (d_rouge was saved from a lynching by the authorities Day Three.)

  • Stam, the Miller on the edge of town, was ripped to pieces Night Four.
  • Nonchalance, a Werewolf, was killed in the battle with Stam on Night Four.

    (rolandofthewhite was taken into custody before being lynched Day Four.)

  • mikehart
    (replaced The_Machine86)
    , the Magistrate of the village, was mauled to death Night Five.
  • NanookTheWolf,
    (who replaced FD2)
    and was also a Werewolf, was lynched on Day Five.

    (no one died Night Six.)

  • Mastermind of Sin, a Villager, was lynched on Day Six by the mob.
  • Phoebus
    (replaced Enigma91)
    , a Villager, died horribly Night Seven.
  • PeaceBringer, a Villager, was lynched by his own hand Day Seven.
  • Dranko20, the Seer of Garulphos, died to the wolves Night Eight.
  • Coron, just another Villager, was lynched by the mob Day Eight.
  • d_rouge
    (replaced Derk2009), a Villager, was shredded Night Nine by the werewolves.

  • Bamboomancer, a Villager of Garulphos, was lynched and eaten by the werewolves Day Nine.
  • rolandofthewhite, a simple Villager, died to the werewolves in the endgame.
  • Mad Jackal
    (replaced Save the Dragons)
    , a Villager, died to the werewolves in the endgame.
Game Over, Werewolves Win! See last page for night actions and commentary.

Rules
(stolen from Werebear - naturally - who isn't around to defend them):
  1. Game Days will last as long as they have to, but never more than a full lunar cycle (29 1/2 days, real time). If discussion lags, I will impose a deadline. If discussion picks up, the deadline will be rescinded. That last part only happens once.
  2. Votes must be in
    bold
    . If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted. Unvotes are polite but not strictly required.
  3. Once a player has reached the necessary votes to be lynched, the day is over. Unvoting them will not save their life. You may talk until the night scene is posted.
  4. No lynch
    es are allowed, they require the same number of votes as a lynch.
  5. The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless you are told you may do so explicitly in your role PM.
  6. Once your death scene has been posted, you're dead. Please, no posting ideas or theories. You may make one
    "Bah!"
    -type post, with no additional game information.
  7. Don't edit/delete previously submitted posts. Post again and correct it if you feel the need.
  8. Don't quote your role PM in thread. They have been randomized to discourage this, but I have other means available to encourage you in the paths of righteousness.
  9. The first time you miss a night-time deadline, no choice will be made. The second time, someone will be selected at random. It might be you.
  10. If you're going to be gone a significant amount of time, let everyone know out of courtesy. I consider more than 72 hours to be significant; your fellow players may have other ideas.
  11. Mod = God. And we all know what happens when God is proven wrong, right? That's right, the universe packs up its bags and goes home. Let me know, however, if you think your eyes might be seeing things that appear to be errors.
  12. The Mod works in mysterious ways. Don't assume to know the will of Mod.
  13. It's a game. Have fun, don't be complete jerks to each other, participate, etc.
As in the Dichotomafia game, if you have a question about a role once it is revealed/claimed, let me know and I will tell you the Mafia analogue. All roles have been pulled from the Werewolf card game or previous games of Werewolf played online (a subset of the applicable roles in this PDF file), with only mild tweaking for balance.

The town of Garulphos has been fairly quiet until recently; when the new spring sheep started disappearing, no one thought much of it. Birth and death are intimate experiences of life in a small forest town. But when people started turning up missing, that was another matter entirely. When their bodies started turning up in the woods, torn apart and partially eaten, it was past time for doing something.
Image
Now, on the darkest night of the month, as the last sliver of the moon's light is a memory, it's time for the people of Garulphos to stand up for themselves and figure out what is terrorizing their friends and families. Those with the ability to do so will try to help the town, while the rest of you might want to stay inside where it's brightly lit and safe, at least relatively speaking.

It is now Night One. Night choices are due by Wednesday, May 11th, at 11:59pm.

Day dawns early with a series of blood-curdling screams. You awaken with your heart pounding in your chest, grateful to still be alive but too scared of what might be out there to venture forth. Only when you hear the sounds of other villagers starting to emerge from their homes do you come out.

The source of the screams from last night becomes clear as you survey the wreckage of Internet Stranger's home. The door and most of the windows seem to have been smashed in, and the furniture inside is shredded and splintered. Worse, though, are the remains of the man himself, which are strewn gruesomely from one end of the cottage to the other. Even still, it would seem that there is not enough of him here to make a full body. You shudder to think where the rest might be now... perhaps in the belly of one of your own neighbors?

Internet Stranger, an Herbalist of Garulphos,
(doctor w/wolfsbane)
has been torn to pieces Night One.

It is now Day One. With 21 alive, it will take 11 to lynch.

Vote: Locus

And I don't nightkill IS, as a rule. I keep clinging to the hope that you people will come to your senses and lynch him.

If TV has taught me anything, it's boring if the husband kills the wife.

Unvote

Locus Cosecant wrote:I keep clinging to the hope that you people will come to your senses
Funny how I feel the same about you. Well, up to that point.

All pettiness aside, random votes are boring. Who wants to talk about werwolves? Apparently there's a group of people who've evolved in such a way that they've developed wolf like qualities. My friend saw one on TV and he's scared of things jumping out of bushes at night. So naturally, we scared him a few times ;)

Sorry. I'm really bored right now. I felt like sharing.

I'd actually like to apologize. I shouldn't have mentioned the locus thing, i've done it ten times before. I'll never mention it again unless I feel it's a problem.

Yep, sorry. The Herbalist is basically a Doctor who uses Wolfsbane. I've edited the OP & death scene to include "standard" role names, since this is a normal game.

Hi again mneme, Mr. Flay and StD,
and of course, my warmest welcome:
vote: esme
for the sake of (not so) old times.

Any guesses of how many Warewolfs we are dealing with here?
Is there any chance we have another Herbalist alive?

Posted: Wed May 11, 2005 6:16 am
by Nonchalance
I'm going to guess, with 22 players in the game, 3 or 4 werewolves. Since we don't have a SK or a second group, I'm leaning towards 4.

Oh, and for the sake of reciprocity,

Vote: mneme

A sonnet for my love, my joy, my one bright ray of sunshine,

A woman's face with nature's own hand painted,
Hast thou, the master mistress of my passion;
A woman's gentle heart, but not acquainted
With shifting change, as is false women's fashion:
An eye more bright than theirs, less false in rolling,
Gilding the object whereupon it gazeth;
A man in hue all hues in his controlling,
Which steals men's eyes and women's souls amazeth.
And for a woman wert thou first created;
Till Nature, as she wrought thee, fell a-doting,
And by addition me of thee defeated,
By adding one thing to my purpose nothing.
But since she prick'd thee out for women's pleasure,
Mine be thy love and thy love's use their treasure.

Oh what joy this morning brings for me that thou are still well!
I'm so happy I could fall over laughing at the bright sun and the mockingbirds.
How I miss the caress of your hands, the gentle grazing of your nose upon my cheek!
