Heh...yes, we do.

Well, a rapid random bandwagons seems to be an unusual move this early in day one, at least here on mafiascum, and I am interested in knowing why it is happening. Meta-game reasons, game-theory reasons, stratagy reasons, or just "because day 1 is boring"? Or just total randomness?

On another topic, based the night scene, I suspect that Coran was town, because he was discribed as a "local", and it sounds like the mafia is an outside group.

I'm liking Fishbulb's idea that Coron was town, and that two groups targeted him. I think it's safe to say that it was not a vigilante.

And my vote on Stoofer is pretty random. It seems he's in every one of my games. And always scum. Except when he's the vig.

Exactly my confusion. But I assumed he was a female because of the way it was set up, so I had to back up a few times to figure out why I thought that.

It may be a bit fast, but an initial random bandwagon is pretty much standard operating procedure. The only thing that really prevents it is if someone has info Night 1.

(shrug) I don't know...it seems like bandwagons based on some minor thing that someone thinks is a scum tell around page 4 or 5 are more common then truly random bandwagons. It just seemed worth commenting on.

CA: Well, I can't argue with that, Stoofer IS always scum. ;)

As far as I'm concerned, let's just say since rite isn't around, I'm doing the shameless bandwagonning while trying to change the current style of play, somewhat.

Official Vote Count

Kerplunk: 3 (Mr Stoofer, Fritzler, Phoebus)
Mr Stoofer: 2 (Kerplunk, Commodore Amazing)
Fritzler: 1 (Polarboy)
Commodore Amazing: 1 (draygn_mage)

Not voting: Coolbot, Fishbulb, olio, Yosarian2

Sorry about not being clear about the nightscene. And Coron was pro-town, and that is now reflected in the first post.

:( Why pick me? And DON'T say you like the sound of my name.

Seriously,
unvote: Stoofer
,
vote: CA
. More a feeling, but his last post seems to me like scum trying to add something trivial to the discussion: "Safe to say he's not a vigilante." And I also don't think he is a cop, doc, tracker, etc. Why would you say he isn't a vig?

Hmmm...

Everyon seems to be playing their cards fairly close to their chests for now. I don't smell anything specially scummy with the currently developing bandwagons, but that may just be because my scumdar is broken.

I didn't mean to speculate on Stoofer's role. This is sort of an early joke vote. It is not a very good vote, and it is not a very good joke. :(

I thought that this post of Kerplunk was scummy -- CA was obviously making a joke. Kerplunk seemed to be suggesting that it was something more serious. Looked to me like Kerplunk was looking too hard for a reason to vote.

I see also that Phoebus agreed with him. :? . I don't know Kerplunk well but I find it hard to believe that Phoebius could honestly find CA's post scummy. It was so obvisouly early game banter and Phoebus surely would have recognised it as such.
Unvote: Nightfall, vote: Phoebus

Call me Dutch but I don't see what part of that post is an obvious joke.

However, if you will notice, my vote is on Kerplunk. I just mentioned I found CA's post odd.

So, your voting of me (Stoofer), seems a little bit contrived.

I think you read his post wrong. He said that it's "safe to say that it's not a vigilante", when talking about the double kill we had last night; he wasn't speculating on anyone's role, he was speculating on what happened last night.

However, now that I think about it, it is a little strange. CA, why are you so sure that one of the kills on Coren last night wasn't a vig? There are several people I know of who would vig killed Coren night 1 given half a chance. ;)

Oh it was a joke. Hmm... I took it seriously.

About my current scum-cathcing-tactics: I'm trying to catch scum on the first day by looking at small things/slip-ups in their posts. That's why I voted for CA. But I misinterpreted his post, I thought he was saying that Coron wasn't a vigilante.

In fact he was speculating on the murderer itself. I think I'm keeping my vote on him.

I don't think vigilantes typically kill people on the first night... and which part do you think is a vigilante? The "riddled with bullets" or the "cut in half?" Sounds like scum and SK to me. I know you don't think it's a vigilante, Yosarian. I'm surprised other people are going after me.

Current? You mean you just started this "tactic"? What was your previous method? That's been my general approach since I've started playing. Haven't been successful... yet.. but what else are you going to do? :P

My thoughts on the deal: In my experiences, town are so paranoid that they are going to notice these little things and blow them out of proportion, but most of the time they are just misunderstandings. Meanwhile scum sit back and just randomly add thoughts, but don't actually take a side until the town has come to a decision. Kinda like I'm doing right now... oops!

You know - the very objectionable part of your post would be: stating the obvious.

You quote Yosarian.
You point fingers at other people.
My vote is still on Kerplunk.
You are voting me.
All very interesting.
