One experimental rule, which I'm just trying now because this is the first game I've run since I thought of it: (I reserve the right to change this if it doesn't work well. If you don't like it just by looking at it, send me a PM and if there's enough dissent I'll drop it)
I don't like twilight posting, but I understand that miscounts happen. If you're casting a vote that would, as far as you know, take the voted player to the lynch threshold or higher, bold
Finishing vote: IS
rather than just vote. After that, nobody should post game-related stuff until I get on to confirm. (And I'll check the thread often enough to notice relatively soon, unless I'm away/asleep.) A vote that would take someone to the lynch threshold or higher but isn't specified as finishing will not be counted. I will forgive mistakes regarding FV-ing too early, but if it gets abused I will not be happy.
Other than that,
Standard rules apply, with the following exceptions/extensions:
This is what a townie PM might look like if I were drawing from a different series of movies whose first word is "Star":
"Remember..." (Spock, Episode III)
You are a townie, with no special powers.
You win when the bad quotes are out of the database. Please confirm by PM.
Quoting your quote doesn't count as modquoting, since it's technically your rolename. However, know that more often than not I'm going by my own memory of the movies instead of any online source as far as the exact wording goes.
Notify me (Don't just post in the vacation thread, post here or pm me) if you're going to be unavailable for more than 72 hours. Commitment to X other people, blah blah blah. Twice a week, (Probably Tuesday/Wednesday and sometime on the weekend) I'll do an activity check. If you haven't posted since the last check, you'll get prodded; if you don't let me know you still exist by the next check, you'll get replaced.
Private messaging is the preferred method of communication with the moderator for night choices, questions, and the like. If it appears there's a problem, pm me. There may not be.
Players whose choices I do not receive by the end of the night will be considered to take no action, unless they must perform an action, in which case the target will be chosen at random.
One may vote: no lynch, and a majority of such votes will end the day without lynching.
When a day deadline is reached, the person with the most votes is lynched if they have at least half of the required votes. If there are multiple people with the same number of votes at a deadline, the one who reached that number first is lynched. If no one has half the majority, no one is lynched.
I love it when players keep me in the loop regarding their Night discussion. (When allowed by roles, of course) Please CC me on PMs (The easiest way to do this in most browsers is to hit back to go back to the PM form and change the name to me) and e-mails, send me IM logs, link me to private forums, whatever.
Modkilling during the day takes the place of a lynch unless I feel the modkillee would gain an advantage by doing so.
If four periods (nights or days) pass with no deaths whatsoever, the appropriate game will be declared a tie among all sides with one or more surviving players unless there is some reason for me to do otherwise.
If I change any of these rules (Or the standard rules) at any time, I'll announce it. Anything rules-related I say after making this post, publicly or privately, takes precedence over this post.
