Mini 362 - Open Role Bastard Mafia (Game Over)

Every year, at the National Bastard Convention, the largest bastards in the world meet and discuss things involving…bastard…ness. (Aside: Bastards are not very original.) This, year, however…was to be different.

There was free Starbucks coffee.

From there, it should be self-explanatory what happened next in the story.

1. Thesp

10. kirbyphreak

Game Over; Town Wins

Here are the twelve roles that appear in the game. There will be randomly selected a number of scum the town is unaware of from the following 12 roles. There will also be randomly selected a number of roles that will be altered unbeknownst to the owner and "bastardized."

(As it says in the rules, usage of role is compulsory for every player
except
the vigilante.)

Thus, the list.

Insane Cop:
You are an insane cop. You may investigate one person of your choice per night and get an alignment opposite of what they really are.

Doctor:
You are a doctor. You may select one player of your choice each night and prevent them from dying.

Mathematics Professor:
At the start of each day, you are given a formula as follows: X + Y = Z. X and Y are given to you, but Z is unknown. If you manage to accomplish X and Y, then Z will occur. (You will not, in most situations, be told what happens.) If you fail to accomplish the formula, you run the risk of being fired and losing all abilities.

Bastard Patrol:
You are a member of the bastard patrol. You check a player each night to see if they’ve been bastardized or not.

Restricter:
You are a restricter. Each night, you target a player and restrict them from performing a certain aspect, function, or ability in or from the game of a provided choice you are given.

Vigilante:
You are a vigilante. You may kill a player of your choice each night.

Inventor:
You are an inventor. Each night, you invent something and give it to a player of your choice. It will have effects varying on what it is.

Genealogist:
You are a geneologist. Each night, you can target a player and go through the archives and look up family records about them. If they are bastardized, you will prove them to be a non-bastard, removing their bastardization. If they aren’t bastardized, you will prove them to be illegitimate and therefore bastardizing them.

Cleric:
Each night, you may pray to your God who lives in the sky and ask a yes or no question. Depending on the nature of the question, your God may or may not answer it. The Gods are very finicky, and dislike certain requests.

Vanilla Townie #1:
You are a vanilla townie. You have no powers or abilities.

Vanilla Townie #2:
You are a vanilla townie. You have no powers or abilities.

Vanilla Townie #3:
You are a vanilla townie. You have no powers or abilities.

Roles are sent out in PMs as shown above. They only change slightly with alignment modifications.

For example:

If Scum:

You are a mafia aligned insane cop. You may investigate one person of your choice per night and get an alignment opposite of what they really are. You mafia buddies are so and so, they are this or that.

If Town:

You are a town aligned insane cop. You may investigate one person of your choice per night and get an alignment opposite of what they really are.

The Rules:

This game starts with day. During the day, you talk amongst yourselves and vote to lynch someone. I will post at the being of the game how many votes are required to lynch. After each night, when day starts, I'll post what happened during last night.

You cannot post at night. During the night, players send in roles. Be prompt with your roles.

Unlike most games, targeting a player with your role is compulsory. You may not choose "no target," with the lone exception of the vigilante.

When a player dies, his role name and alignment will be public. Do not post ANYTHING when you have died, or communicate with other living or dead players once you have died. You are dead, therefore, you have been silenced. Be respectful of that.

Quoting PMs or other mod conversations will get you killed. (Paraphrasing what your PM said is fine, however.)

Don't edit your posts. (Not like you really can, but still...)

If you break the rules enough, you'll be killed (modkilled) or unwillingly replaced, depending on the situation. Do
not
intentionally get yourself mod killed, or break major rules. It's really against the spirit of the game, and creates a hassle for the GO, sometimes one that can't be fixed and utterly ruins the game. Accidentally posting at night or editing once or twice is not the end of the world, but finding out other's role from outside the thread or posting game relevant information once dead is pretty bad.

Bold your votes and put them in the following format:
Vote: Someone
. If you want to change a vote, post
Unvote: The Person You are Unvoting
. You do not need to vote for someone else if you unvote.

Once someone gets a majority of votes, they are instantly lynched. (Half is not a majority.) Any unvotes are irrelevant at that point, the person is dead now.

In the case of a tie during a deadline, the most recent votes are unvoted until someone maintains a majority.

I will not accept dead players as substitutes for inactive players.

If you've got questions, ask me. For example, if you don't want be caught in a rock in a hard place when you assumed the doctor could protect himself or that he protects all hits (he only stops one), simply ask me.

Thanks to PetroleumJelly and Alkohaulec for helping me with set up review.

Speaking of PJ, he'll be ORB's wonderful co-mod for this event. Alkohaulec was too drunk to apply, sadly.

All role PMs have been sent. Please confirm that you got your role via PM. We'll begin once everyone has confirmed. (Or most everyone confirmed and I had to replace someone. Image)

We'll be starting this game with day.

One hundred twenty-seven empty, used styrofoam cups lay on the ground. Not to mention the blood splattered all over the walls. A gruesome mess.

The town begins to converse.

"Well...we all know what we have to do now..."

"I knew it would come to this. Damn that fool. Damn him and his java."

"Well...get the board out. It's time for...
TWISTER!"

So, the town played twister.

Day One has started.

Sorry to have to say this so soon in the game, but I might have sporadic internet for a while. I have to send my computer in for repairs (at least a week, methinks), and I'll have to use another computer. Shouldn't interfere with the game, but just in case.

Also,
Vote: Kirbyphreak
for double posting. SCUM!
