Did I really get FoS for having a short name? I can understand a random vote, but an FoS? lol.

I don't think anything on the last 2 pages have any relevance in my opinion. Page one is all confirmations, page 2 is random votes.

Vote: Guardian
just cause it may quiet him down a bit.

How many to lynch day 1?

Have you read page 2? There's
loads
of writing!

I think it's 7 to lynch for 12 players.

Because A speed lynch request is always suspisious.

I'll second that

I also think that guardian isnt 'new' at all and could well be a very good player with either a) two accounts or has just played lots in real life but not online. New players hardly ever jump in with loads of posts right from the off.

There is no proof he actualy rolled a dice to pick raffles, it's just too much of a coincidence that he had already had a go at raffles and then "oh look the dice picked raffles"; i dont believe it for a second.

In fact if i was making up a random d12 result 11 is the number i would have gone for too which reinforces my point.

Whilst speed lynching is always suspicious, there are so many things that are flawed in this statement.
First of all, a nitty gritty out of the way
1) As far as I'm I aware, actively using two accounts goes against the rules of the forum.

I can accept that he may have played this game in real life. The fact that he suggested speed lynch testifies it, which is a common trait on day 1 in real life games. But saying new players won't jump in with load of posts from the beginning is just wrong. In fact, this also testifies that he never played mafia online, or at least on this site. Suppose he played this game on similar site and is a scum, he'd show a far more lurkish trait and try to blend with the crowd. I'm not saying this happens most of the time but for the majority, it is the case. The fact that his first post was something of that length is a proof that he never played it online, therefore no basis to accuse that he is a scum.

Yes there is, look at his first post. His quotation is something you can do by clicking "post reply", then clicking "dice" option. I've never figured out how to use it because I think random voting through dice or random.org is far too sterile for my taste. But I know it's there. And he could have picked this up from reading through any old game.

Vote: Vryklan
for coming up with crap reasons to bandwagon on Guardian. I expected better.

Ehh, a third vote isn't anything to get into a fuss over, especially for the first bandwagon. besides, it's 7 to lynch I think. I think it's kinda routine in mafia games. Thats just my opinion.

I don't think you can make this kind of assertion this early in the game, even on a hunch.

Not surprising, it's only page 2 :)

While your join date says noob, you're posts say that you've played before. Not sure if that was RL or on a different site, but be prepared for a 12 person mini game to take in the neighborhood of 2-3 RL MONTHS....we've got time :)

Glad you're excited tho :D

I'm going out of town on a job interview, so I won't be here from tomorrow until Tuesday. I've already PM'd Sefer about this, just didn't want y'all to think I'm lurking :)

@Raffles: I think it is only against the rules to use two accounts to get around waiting list caps or to play two roles in a single game.

Ok, i wasnt intentionally trying to start a wagon rolling. But raffles tore into my argument way too quickly and in his own words "for nitty gritty reasons".

Which begs the question; why is he defending guardian so fervently?

I'm defending guardian because for now, I thin he's a town. He's also a newb, and I'm telling everyone to be careful on their judgement. What newbs do is very similar to scum tells.

Yeah I am new to online forum mafia. I have played IRL and on IRC quite a bit - (ps if anyone knows a good non-dead IRC channel let me know) - and when the IRC channel became unpopular I looked up other ways to play online, and I found this :x. IRL and especially in IRC speed-lynch day one is the way I've always seen played. From reading the forums, I am pretty sure that gorckat is correct that double accounting is OK – I am not doubling though.

Vel is right that my hunch about gorckat is probably off, but one way I try to start out a game is figure out one person I can be pretty sure of trusting - and this game gorckat seems legit.

Just wanted to point out that Raffle’s analysis is right on here, I saw the dice function used and saw the dice button in post reply, and used it.

Raffles is doing a very good job at scum or is really a townie... I voted him, FoS'd him, and he still is saying I am probably a town lol.

Vryklan, what’s wrong with Raffles defending me? Nah oddly it seems suspicious to me as it does to you... Or it could be a town trying to defend another town? I am still kind of confused there.

Avinyl’s random vote is iffy to me… I am not 100% convinced that speed day one is bad, but it probably it is not.

John, I’m sorry that your vote did not achieve its intended purpose ^_^.

unFoS: Raffles

FomS: Raffles, Vryklan, Avinyl

p.s. I am going on a really long vacation May 15th, so hopefully this game is abnormally short, or I'll eventually need a sub. whatever :).

Don't get too complacent there, by me saying someone "is town", I mean that person is just as likely to be scum as everyone else. I do have slightly raised suspicions for Vryklan, along with people who are random voting at this stage, but that's it for now.

You don't need to unFoS.

I think guardian is town. He gives off that vibe to me. Just new and exited townie trying to win the game in less than 5 pages.

Forgive me for being skeptical, but that sure looks like a good way to "buy" the other person's trust if you aren't on the town's side...although I presume you generally don't run up to 'em and give this reasoning :P

Occult (2): Vel-Rahn Koon, DLMF
Vryklan (2): Raffles, Avinyl
