It is the year 44 BC, on March 13th. Rome is prospering under its dictator, Julius Caesar. However, not all is good. Conspiracy is afoot to harm the Roman people. It has been seen by Spurrina, a haruspex, that Julius Caesar will die on the Ides of March, in two days. You must eliminate this conspiracy and continue the prosperity of your fine city. I wouldn't care, but as the all-powerful Jupiter, I don't want to deal with you stuffy dead people. Pluto has been getting awfully irritable, so I agreed to temporarily assume his position as Lord of the Underworld, and I hope for this to be as painless as possible.

[1] Each day you may try to lynch somebody. A lynch requires a total number of votes that is strictly more than half the people alive. A normal lynch is unrevocable. If necessary, I will install a deadline; a deadline lynch requires either half the number of votes of a normal lynch or 2 votes, whichever is greater.

[2] Please bold your votes and unvotes as in vote: Thok. I would appreciate it if you include the name of any person you unvote, but I do not require it. I do require that you unvote before revoting.

[3] No talking outside the thread during the day unless it is specifically part of your role. Obviously, you may only talk outside the thread at night if it is part of your role. You may not talk during the confirm stage. Do not quote PMs or IMs from people you are able to talk to, though feel free to paraphrase though.

[4] Do not edit your posts. Do not use code=black tags or size=normal tags. Do not hack into mafiascum's php code in order to install invistext or spoiler tags; moreover if somebody does so, do not use invistext or spoiler tags.

[5] Do not quote the mod. Do not fakequote the mod. I will consider posting any link in this game that is a reference to your role as breaking this rule.

[6] Once you are dead, you are dead. You may post a simple "Bah!" post, but no game related content.

[7] Try to be relatively civil to each other. I know you're trying to kill each other, but that's no reason to insult somebody's mother.

[8] I am the mod, but I do occasionally make mistakes. (Shock! Dismay!) If you think I have made a mistake, please send me a PM.

[9] I will try to put up a vote count each page or so. If I can, or feel like it.

[10] I reserve the right to modkill at my discretion. I don't plan on using this unless something strange happens.

Underworld, Pluto's palace

"Diana, wanna play Gods and Mortals?" Apollo shouted.

"I hate that game, you always make me the mortals! They die too fast!" Diana cried.

"Settle down, my children." I pronouced, my thundering voice enchanting the ears of all who heard me and my vastly beautiful words. I stood up, having been sitting in the mediocre throne of my brother, Pluto. The twin tweens cowered.

"When can we get out of this dump? It's

last millenia..." Venus sighed.

"It's always drama with you chicks. You just need to relax. A little bit of discord isn't the worst that could happen." Mars stuck his tongue out at his sister from across the large room.

"Don't mention Eris in this house. Thanks to her, we started the Trojan War." Venus scoffed. Minerva pushed her aside, out of the doorway she was blocking, and walked up to me.

"Father, a situation is developing on the surface. Roman senators are plotting to kill Caesar, and possibly a large portion of the Roman population." My warfare-loving daughter smirked.

"I refuse! No mass death until my brother gets back. And don't leave to egg them on, I need you all here to keep me company." I pouted, my gleamingly handsome features glittering.

"Um, free will?" She replied.

"...Okay, just... Make them stop!" I proclaimed. And so shall it be.

It is March 13th, the first day. With twelve citizens alive, it takes seven votes to convince me to smite someone.

oh god no. I hate hockey, and if I liked hockey, I'd hate the maple leafs.

I mentioned the character names earlier because I like mine and wanted to see who everyone else's was, that's all. I didn't think it had much to do with gameplay.

Man, Miztef has 3 votes on him already, and it's 7 to lynch. I'd say: don't vote Miztef! He was stupid enough to mention character names, that's true (I, for example, didn't get a character name). If he has a character name, that probably means he's no townie... but: he could have a power role. Man, Miztef, you got yourself into trouble, and just after one post (the first).

If think Miztef is either scum or has a power role. If he's scum, we have to look for his scumpartner, or wait until Miztef makes another mistake and just vote Miztef. If he has a power role, we have to make sure scum won't kill him N1.

First of all, why exactly was it necessary to unvote and then revote Miztef for the exact same reason that you voted for him in the first place?

Are you really willing to lynch Miztef purely on the knowledge that he is probably not a townie? "At best he's a power role who stupidly revealed himself"? Power roles are called power roles for a reason, and I'd prefer not to lynch one without a reason. Perhaps if there were a 50-50 chance that Miztef is scum, but I simply don't see that being the case.

Honestly, what Miztef said makes him look pro-town in my mind. Assuming he was sincere, why would he want to reveal his rolename if he's scum? I don't like speculating too much about which roles are scum and which are town, but I think that anybody with a basic knowledge of history knows who would most likely be scum in a game about Caesar's assassination.

Obviously, there's a chance that the scum aren't who we think they are, and it's also possible that Miztef deliberately made that comment in order to make people think he's town. Do you think that one of these possibilities is the case, though, Guardian?

Lawrencelot, I'd be wary of talking too much about roles at this point. Saying that townies don't have role names might not matter in the long run, but I never like giving the scum information by talking about roles and mechanics.
