If someone has time to review a Mini Normal setup for me I would greatly appreciate the help.

It's good to have some creative discussion about setups now and then. Whether they are normal or not.

And it's also good to have stuff reviewed by people outside of the normal review group, because they are only with a few.

And I'm available for review btw. Just send me a pm.
Surrender, imagine and of course wear something nice.

I was thinking about Calculated Inaction and how to design a setup specifically to make it non-viable as a mafia strategy, and somehow I ended up with this.

Trust Me! Mafia

There are no lynches in this game, at least not in the usual way. Here's how it works:

- At any point in the day you can post, in bold, the phrase
"[PLAYERNAME], into your hands, I commend my spirit"
(substituting the name of another player in the game for [PLAYERNAME], obviously).
- That player may then either
ACCEPT
or
REJECT
your application.
- If accepted, you will be placed into the
SAFETY ZONE
.
- If rejected, you are not placed into the
SAFETY ZONE
, and furthermore, you will not be allowed to make another application for 24 hours. Also, if the player does not either
ACCEPT
or
REJECT
your application within 72 hours, it is automatically rejected.
- Play continues in this way until all but one player have earned a place in the
SAFETY ZONE
. That player is now dead, night falls, scum kill some poor innocent townie, and then the whole saga begins anew, with one less lifeboat available in this hellish game of musical chairs.

Further restrictions apply:

=- Each player may only accept one application per game day.
=- Players may not apply to the same player twice, unless they have already applied to all other elligible players.

THAT'S IT IN A NUT SHELL.

Looking for opinions on the setup in general, and in particular on good scum:town ratios for a ~15-17 player game, and also volunteers for backup modding.

It looks fun, actually.

Here's a similar game to give you something to think about if you're adding power roles to the mix.

According to Zachrulez, according to the numbers 12:3 is balanced, so etc.

That's so similar I think I must have seen it before and not remembered it on more than a subconscious level. Name and everything.

Was planning to stick with a vanilla version for now, and then if that all goes smoothly I might think about doing a sequel with power roles.

Bearing that in mind, I think it'd have to be 14:3 for town to have a fair shot.

Clarifying because I was half-asleep all last night.

12:3
Double Day
is balanced. If you expect this lynching mechanism to be more accurate than a regular lynch, that's an idea. Giving the Town an extra Day seems kind of much on top of that...?

mith can arrange for private forums. However, it would qualify as a "Special" game for qualifications, and the chance that mith would give someone the permissions necessary to run such a game on your own is... probably very low, so the only people who are likely to run such games are the ones who have independent access to the Admin Control Panel.

Actually, wait a minute.

The private forums work like so:
*mith creates forum (or perhaps reuses and renames the forum from the California Trilogy games)
*mith hides forum from everyone who is not in a (let's say) "Prison 2" usergroup.
*The Prison 2 usergroup is one of those invitation-only deals where you can pull people in.
Thus you can control who can see the Prison 2 forum (which contains the Prison 2 thread) by controlling permissions. You, the mod, would be the leader of the usergroup.

So I take it back, you don't need Admin Control Panel to do this. However, you do need to get a lot of stuff set up with mith personally ahead of time. The more you need, the harder the sell... probably.

The setup is incredibly challenging and fun, needs 2 mods to run obviously.

It's basically a 20 man game

Each person elects 2 people to be leaders
Leaders have special abilities/actions
The goal is to take over both towns.

Each town is isolated so town A can't see what happens in town B

Each town has to lynch somebody, each leader chooses 2 people to banish to the other town, random draw decides which one actually goes.

Leaders share a QT and can share as little or as much info as they want. The leaders alignment are unknown to each other (sort of like neighbors)

Yeah, I don't think it would be as much as double the accuracy of a regular lynch, and plus there's the fact that if scum can hold off on saving each other long enough without being lynched, they can bring lylo forward by a couple of days.

I really like iamusername's game idea.

But something tells me there is something that can break it.

I dunno, just a gut feeling.

If ever does go down. I would like to be in it. But if I don't get in it then it sucks to be me.

So yeah. pre/in

Could use a few eyes for a large theme (19 players). Nothing too extreme on the complexity side though, so don't be too afraid. :D

Game is actually 22 players, and I could use one more pair of eyes.
