You really did shove it in our faces, Jason, and I couldn't think of a non-stretchy way that would explain it without knowing the DN mechanics, like "Jason has DN investigation immunity"... what if the answer really was that simple? It turns out it was simple, but in a different way.

I do want to add my $0.02 about how the game went.

I still fully stand by my statement that no anti-town played well this game.

of the six got caught on

DAY ONE

, the fifth got caught on day 3 (and was the only exception, although he still DID get caught), and the last was never considered town enough to have any chance of surviving to endgame.

The reason that town didn't landslide this game is because of day 2. I don't remember exactly what happened anymore, but IIRC we ended up getting close to lynching Narna, then he governed a nonviable target and reset all the votes and we were in no hurry to relynch him. The end result was that a lot of people stopped caring and everyone got thrown for a loop because close to nothing in day 2 mattered, but the amount of noise meant that anything that did matter up to that point got completely drowned out in bullshit.

I fully believe that was the underlying source of town playing horribly this game. If Narna hadn't been lynched day 2, we would've had a landslide victory as Wisdom definitely would have been lynched day 3, which would've left scum+Jason without any options left. Instead, we horribly misplayed D2 and paid the price by becoming too thrown off on the gamestate to rally against Wisdom despite nothing he ever did being provable.

tl;dr town played fantastically day 1 and scum played fantastically day 2, but otherwise there was a ton of just bad play all around

To be fair, finding scum is only half the battle. If you can't persuade people, you're not going to get where you need to go. It's like figuring our a treasure map, but not having any shovels. Sure, you know where it is, but you can't get there.
