This is one of those games that is mafia, but is such a far departure from the normal rules that it really belongs in mishmash.

This is a bad idea game. There will be 20 players, whom 4 are scum. All 16 townies have a gun, who can shoot once. Scum have no guns, but can nightkill. When all townies have shot, and the mafia is still alive, the town loses.

Different Rules:

-Signups will take place by PMing me with "/in". DO NOT SIGN UP IN THE THREAD. If you do, it won't count, plus it kills the game a little.

- I will never reveal the player list. The fun of this game is that players who are not actually playing can (and are very much encouraged to) screw with the game and pretend to be /in.

- When someone shoots, we go into night and the mafia make a kill.

- After each 48 hours, the forensics check to see if someone is dead. During these 48 hours, anyone can shoot or pretend to shoot someone. The first one to make a valid kill will show up for the forensics. The killer will not be revealed, just the player shot by that player. When all townies are out of bullets, the scum must be dead for a win. If not, the scum wins.

-/In players are expected to post with reasonable frequency - I'm flexible with lurking, and will prod you liberally, but for obvious reasons replacements don't work very well in this game. Modkill will be used in its place. Also, for scum, lurking as a strategy to look like an /out player will be a modkillable offense (after reasonable warnings). Just, basically, play within the spirit of the game and you'll be fine.

Don't say that someone is killed as soon as they are, wait until there are several other attempted kills and just post the first that is successful.

a couple of questions.

If a town shoots an /out does the /out die? Does the townie forever loose the power to shoot again? Is there any reload feature in the game at all?

Also if you reveal who was killed it might become fairly easy to deduce who made the kill especially if only one person shot that person. Make sure you go by attempted kills ON THE SAME PERSON.


ie. If 5 guys make attempts that are not on the same guy and only one killer is /in and he shot one guy no one else did we will know he is in cause only his kill worked.

lookslike the mafia will have a big advantage in the bad idea version compared to the other version.

I've decided to cut the playerlist to twelve, with 2 scum. It makes it more enjoyable if the outies are in more numbers, as they would be in a small amount in case of 20 players. Sign ups will end tomorrow.

I suggest that once someone is shot, nobody else is allowed to post in thread until the next day, otherwise they get modkilled if they are a player, and revealed as out if they are out (accidental simulposts are exempt).

First of all,
nobody shoot
right away! I think the best strategy is for at least 7 players to be in favour of a shooting before anyone is allowed to carry it out (this seems a reasonable balance between making sure there is town consent and not making this into a normal lynching game and making the game go on too long). Anybody who shoots before this will be under massive suspicion the next day. Also, I think that we can make use of the scum not having guns. If we agree on somebody to shoot, then we can nominate people to shoot them. Whoever has the most approval has to shoot the person who's been nominated to be shot. If they don't, they are probably scum, and we shoot them today, and the person we were going to shoot shoots the scum.

Make sense? Any objections?

I don't understand this answer. The question is if an /in shoots an /out, does it count as a used bullet?
