Alright, I'm trying to "get my hand out of it"?

If JDodge is lynched and my vote is on him at the time, and he turns out by some miracle to be town, then it will be in part my fault, as it is with all town lynches.

I don't see why that needs saying; I don't think Sir Tornado is scum, but he's seriously misinterpreting everything I say. I think JDodge is scum; if Sir Tornado's words can be interpreted as something other than "JDodge is scum", it doesn't make my interpretation wrong.

I can't understand where that comes from
JDodge wrote:B.) you were talking out your ass earlier
My earlier vote, I should admit was more or less based on a wild assumption, which was more over based on an idea I had much earlier, and I later decided to get it out as means to get reactions instead of a random vote. It did get a significant reaction, btw as I do not get why a town-JDodge would lie outright to me in his post 24.

This one. You were quite serious when we had that conversation (also, that was a long time ago, out of game conversation, so you had no reason to lie then)

JDodge wrote:Why do you think people who break that rule will be modkilled and not replaced or some other such thing?
The only form of punishment that Oman had listed in his rules was Summon Nature's Modkill V on the person breaking one of his rules. I figured that form of punishment would essentially apply to any rule that was broken by someone.

xyzzy, I find this statement strange:
xyzzy wrote:JDodge, if I were scum, talking to me could only lead to one thing - a total slip-up. Why wouldn't you want that?
Why would talking to scum only lead to one and only one thing? I think JDodge makes a fair point in stating that the scum could trick town in private conversations. And actually, I believe that tricking town is the more likely scenario as opposed to totally slipping up.

Wow, serious overreaction with this whole JDodge making a fuss with his PM. I can see where the people who say he is scum are coming from, but I can also see reasons other than his being scum. So I will be refraining from joining the JDodge bandwagon.

Well, a person who is scum would have an advantage of not knowing who his scum partners are and could therefore not worry about his play toward them, if he is being too lenient or bussing too hard or whatever. This enhances the scum play.

I will choose to ignore the last question.

This game strikes me as basically being kind of balanced in the favor of the mafia. Basically, I dont know how to use the daytalk function to my advantage as town and there are no power roles. As scum one would be able to talk to each other throughout the day and adjust play accordingly to trick people and stay hidden.

Am I missing something?

It's like being a mason who can talk during the day. Only you're masons with everyone.

Yeah. That doesnt tell me much. I still dont fully understand the advantage of masons anyway, other than if they are confirmed and make it to endgame. More experience needed mayhaps but I dont see the point, as town, in an awful lot of offline chats with people who may or may not be scum.

Um...wow. Just read through this and I'm bewildered. I don't think jd is scum for not wanting to look at his role pm, and his apparent blow up at oman doesn't make him scum either. Don't really know what to think of anything else yet...

Sir T, I have one question for you now. How do you judge someone's seriousness over the internet? Usually sarcasm can be detected through tone of voice, so you really had no basis to judge if jd was serious or not when the conversation you are referring to occurred.

Scot: you can generally find out whether a person is serious or not even in a online conversation by taking into account their usual behaviour, behaviour in the convo, the seriousness of the topic discussed, responses to other points in the topic etc.

props to oman for stepping up as a mod and doing what had to be done.

refusing to read role pm's is bullshit, it is isn't necessarily anti-town -- just anti-fun.
