Why do you suggest this strategy? I assume you don't suggest this in all your games. I also assume that the reason you suggest it is the different nature of this game. But I can't see why a cult game would benefit from your strategy. Please explain your thoughts and reasoning!

Yupp, I dont suggest this every game... this is my first game here

If you see my post, you'll see I said that seemed risky to me. I just wanted to know if, in other people's opinion, it was valid

Blaze: your strat won't work because mafia could easily fake claim to be that cop of yours. If two/ more people claimed cop, who will you believe? Bare in mind that there could also be some stupid townies who would decide to join this fake-claiming thing. If you aren't a complete newbie, I would be fosing you for 1) suggesting no-lynch on D1 to maximize the chance for the cult leader to sucessfully recruit a town and 2) suggesting the cop to claim on D2 regardless on what they've found (giving away another piece of info to the scums).

Reyo - You have done more to make me suspect you than anyone else in the game so far. i believe you understood my post earlier than you made out. i believe your question to blaze was also loaded and not genuine, and only aimed to generate further suspicion and confusion about me.

If i have a more solid reason to vote someone else i certainly will, and i would not be willing to hammer you *right now* if that was the situation.

Realistically with a godfather in the game the % chance of there not being a cop is almost negligible.

The fact that doc was used in the initial post is the only reason I believe a doc is in the game, but yes i agree that we need to consider the possibility we have none.

I was just asking if it would be good, and I myself said it was probably too risky, I didn't actually propose the plan....

About the roles... The mod used godfather and doctor in the exemples of mafia and town power roles, and while it does not really mean they are there, it is very likely... Even because they are common roles... And if the godfather is there, probably we do have a cop... Put we can just make guesswork, not know for sure...

Setup guessing is one of my pet peeves, to be honest. Don't know off-hand how much ckd hates it, but the only thing we're guaranteed is two mafia, one cult recruiter, and 2-4 town power roles. Given that there are heated discussions going on in MD as we speak trying to discourage always having cop+doc in a game, or assuming they're both around, assuming both is more tenuous then ever. Plus GF with no cop is a classic example of not-really-bastard moddery.

because I think he's the scummiest player. His posts don't feel right to me:

We basically decided that lynching a claimed townie is a dumb goddamn move.

Basically, everyone claim whatever the hell you want. The best idea for townies is to claim Doctor and draw the NK. Best idea for the Doctor is to claim tonwie and draw the cult recruit.

Since Oman has played this game before, I think he should put some more effort in describing towns best strategies from his stand-point. The strategy that town should claim doc and doc claim town is of course useless after it has been stated.

I also dislike Blazerunner's plan. That doesn't mean I think he's scum. That vote by you is too easy. It seems like you have been trying to just find a place for your vote and finally had the opportunity.

To be perfectly honest I don't believe there to have been any major scumtells thus far, so I'm finding it difficult figuring out who to pressure.

However when I'm stuck I revert to plan A, vote for lurkers. So I'm going to put the pressure on:

We dont lynch first day, second day the cop claims and gives his report, and doctor protects him.

I think its best not to lynch than killing a townie. But the strat I posted seems risky too, cause on night one, mafia could kill a power role, cultists recruit a townie and day 2 mafia fake claim cop... The scenario doesnt look nice

Something I learned in the first place I learned to play mafia: it is better to attempt to kill a mafia member and risk accidentally kill a citizen, than to not kill anyone and allow the mafia a free shot. By killing someone, you can base day 2 starting votes on whether the person killed was innocent or not; who was killed in the night. Also, it allows the cop a better guess of figuring out who to check in the night (assuming, of course, we have one). I hold nothing against you for suggesting that theory, because I'm sure people may not agree with my way of looking at things.

Yeah, I cant believe I missed this in the suggested strat. GW is completely right, no lynch is terrible and just gives mafia control of the game (except for key late-game situations).
