In case it's not evident to someone: I'd like to point out that unvoting will not remove votes. Let's all be careful with votes.

You do realise that this is not much of a threat, right? I'm pretty sure FoSes don't count for anything unless there is a tie in the voting.

1) Normally I'd vote, but as those seem to be particularly volatile in this game, I'm going to stick to the (hopefully) tamer practice of casting a suspicious finger.

2) As you say, it DOES count for something.

3) For all we know, being that this is crazyland, an FoS holds some (further) power (I hope I'm wrong).

As a test:
Unvote

Wall-E wrote:I just realized the flaw with your logic, dahill1.

I voted for Cyberbob for starting a bandwagon with no stated reason. Translation: I approve of bandwagons so long as they have a stated reason.

I hope that is clearer. Now that you've strawman'd me and I've pointed out the flaw in your strawman I'll give you a chance to respond or retract your stance before I FoS you.
ok, first off, i can see your reason now for voting Cyberbob. IMO you just didn't make it clear enough before, but that's just from my perspective. however, i still dislike this post for a couple of reasons. i thought it was obvious that i was talking about all types of Day 1 bandwagons, whether they be random or not. i only found out you were talking about non-random ones in this post, yet you accuse me of strawmanning. i especially don't like this next sentence:
I'll give you a chance to respond or retract your stance before I FoS you.
i can't put my finger on why yet, but it seems scummy to me

Unvote, Vote: malthusis
also QFT
unvote vote malthusis

first of all, what do you mean by acting strangely? that normally implies some sort of scumminess, but in the next part you say he's not scummy..
and then you mention the possibility of a Jester... *sigh*

I'm still giggling at the fact that Wall-E thought my vote on dahill wasn't random, to be honest.

EBWOP:

Two votes doth not a bandwagon make (this was before the whole votes-not-being-removed mechanic was discovered, remember), and I'd be very interested in your explanation for how you arrived at the conclusion that I was attempting to get other people on board.

I never said it wasn't. All I said was that you added your vote to mine. I was actually giving you the benefit of assuming you were paying attention to who you voted for and how many votes that person had on them. Are you now saying you weren't?

I planned from the very first time I voted dahill1 to vote for anyone who joined in. Are you accusing me of something? State it simply and directly. I'm a robot: I have no feelings to hurt (actually I just don't get offended easily but it sounds cooler that way).

FoS: Jebus
for ignoring a simple question.

For the stupid people (me): Why are folks voting for malthusius and why or why shouldn't I join in?

My possible explainations:

Votes fade slowly away (This one seems kinda unlikely but possible)

Some people's votes are permanent (I hope this one is true because it might be a way of finding scum, though I doubt it is true for that very reason... maybe vanilla votes are permanent?)

We need to figure out this voting thing. I propose everyone votes for the person above them on the list and then immediately unvotes that person in a second post. Obviously the downside to this plan is some people might get a permanent vote on them, but it's only one so I think it's an acceptable trade. Thoughts?

Other anomalies: There have been three "fourth vote count" s. Jebus got a vote from nowhere dated and timestamped at the time of the second "fourth vote count"

I'm confused now, but lets see where random experimenting can get mE.
It's the other way round; the date and time got a vote from Jebus. Obviously.

p.s. Tar makes votecount errors all the time. It's always worth asking if they're deliberate.

So, mod: Wall-E is listed as having three votes, but only two people are apparently voting for him. Also, 'Not Voting' is listed as one vote, but three names. Does the omniscient see an error?
:P

Wall-E: you can vote for anyone and it will show up in the VC. i don't think that's significant to the game. the only anomaly i see is that the number of Wall-E's votes are switched with his number of FoS's.
