Taking a temporary retirement from playing mafia games... damn you invitationals.
Coming in Summer 2010: Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Mafia. The most nonsensical game of mafia you'll ever play.

In this game, we absolutely have to come down hard on lurkers. With 25 people and two week deadlines, it will be extremely easy for scum to keep their heads down and let the townies lynch each other if we don't.

Sorry, man, I'm kinda burned out on mafia.. I realised I probably don't have the stamina for a large game right now. (All my previous ones have been clusterfucks anyway, even when I was "in shape".) I'd either play like shit (see: PYP3), or flake, or both. Probably shoulda just said no to start out with... wish I could play with you two, though :(

Have a gg y'all

Ah well. I was looking forward to playing with you, I don't think we've managed a full game yet (could be wrong).

Right. Guys, I want you all to promise to think in this game. Is that ok? You keep thinking, we'll get along fine.

I abandoned this place out of stress about 6 months ago. I let a lot of people down in doing so. I am starting afresh, I will not join more than 2 games at a time and I will definitely not be modding a game in the foreseeable future.

I'm not down with lynching lurkers only because they are lurking.

OK Computer. Karma Police. Arrest this man.

Anyways, about lurkers. True it is going to be tight, but if we keep on the mod about prods, we can try to keep the game moving. Lynching lurkers is a dangerous game.

It's not pressure unless it has the threat of a lynch behind it.

Lurkers can't lurk 100% of the time or they'll get replaced. Eventually they will have to post something, and how often and how well could be a scum/town tell. I don't think we'll be forced into lynching someone just because they're lurking. We should involve all people in our discussions, however, and try to encourage everyone to be active in this game.

I personally think we should deal with lurkers on an individual basis. But I don't have any qualms about lynching a lurker on principle. Lurking should definitely not be an "out" for anyone.

I find it amusing that the suggestion comes up from Megatheory to go after the lurkers, and that suggestion turns into a bunch of block quotes and "Yes I agree" replies. In my head I was reading those replies as "well damn I better start increasing my post count right now"...

so
